The Florida Reef Experience was very well organized and the staff made sure to keep us safe and created a great environment for learning. The whole program was centered around making sure that we learned as much as we could and had all the resources we needed to have our questions answered by professionals in the field. While the program was quite physically demanding I learned a lot (especially coral) and was really glad I attended. Alicia and Kirsten were the primary people that we were in contact with and they did a great job of allowing me flexibility while keeping us on track.

My son had an amazing time! He made friends, saw sites he’s been dying to see, and had nothing but positive things to say about his trip! He was extremely complimentary about his advisor, TJ, and said he couldn’t have asked for a better advisor for his group!

I found the program to be very engaging and informative. I enjoyed getting to experience the Berkley campus, and I feel like i gained very useful knowledge.

It was disorganized, not the learning experience promised and a waste of money!

My daughter had an amazing time. She loved seeing all the historic places. Her most favorite was Mount Vernon. Very educational. I would recommend to anyone.

I don’t feel like I learned anything new from the workshops I was in for engineering in Berkeley California. Every workshop was learning basic terms most people already knew, and then jumping to an almost finished product with no explanation why it got there. I really wanted to learn more of the why’s, rather than just doing a step by step. The steps could’ve been done with the teacher in class with explanations so we could understand what was happening more.

For example, the electrical engineering one. All I did was copy from a picture, and I had absolutely no idea why I was placing anything where it was supposed to go. I did learn a lot of terms, but I could not understand why anything worked or didn’t work on the program.

The 3D model program was so difficult to use given it never told you what was wrong. I wasted a lot of time in that class because something didn’t work, and even the teachers couldn’t figure it out for a long time.

The beginning of the AI workshop was really educational and I learned how AI worked a little bit better, but I didn’t enjoy the debate at the end. I would’ve rather that time be spent on another activity related to AI. The debate didn’t help me learn anything.

With the drone workshop, I wished we learned more about the entire code. I understand coding can take months to learn, but I mean something like “we used this code for the computer to do this”. It was fun, but again, I was very confused.

First day I spent most of it doing research about my dream career I’ve already researched in school numerous times. I wish we could’ve done research into different engineering disciplines and what they do on a daily basis. That’s what I came here for and I didn’t get that.

The capstone project and the documentary were so confusing. We hardly got any help or guidance from anyone to help us follow what was required. Having both projects was overwhelming because all that I was doing in my free time was working on the videos or ideas for the capstone because we only had barely a week.

I did enjoy a few of the speakers and feel like I learned a lot from a few of them. It was really amazing to see so many skilled engineers.

I totally understand there was only a week to put together an educational program, but I believe more can be done to make the program even better.

The only critique is that rising 9th graders shouldn’t be grouped with 7th and 8th graders. There is a different maturity level.

It would have been better if they have more workshops to learn more about leadership skills, how to be strategic, something more engaging than just city tour & sightseeing. The museums are also beneficial but would have been better if the chaperones are also knowledgeable about the place so they can answer if the kids ask questions. They can provide an educational tour to the kids especially to those places where there are no tour guides.

I got to meet a ton of like minded people and was able to keep in contact with them. The advisors were also all really nice and kind, and were able to make great relationships with the scholars. The lessons I learned here were invaluable and priceless. I am glad to have been able to take this trip.

My daughter really enjoyed her experience at the National Security event at Georgetown University. She went way out of her comfort zone to participate and by the end of the week, she did not want to leave. She made new friends and learned a lot. Not just about National Security, but about her self. I'm so glad we decided to have her participate in this. I strongly recommend this program. It was worth every penny!

Envision is doing a great job exposing teens to trades that are a viable option for careers. They have also shown us what it looks like to be a part of something bigger than ourselves, and they gave us an opportunity to show the world our mettle.

My daughter had nothing positive to say other than she made great friendships. She did not find that she learned anything related to the medical field and there was really only 1 activity that pertained to anything medically related. Activities were cancelled often and the woman responsible for running this was rude to the kids and appeared to not Sam to be there. This experience was a glorified summer camp that provided no forth wrong of knowledge for my daughter and a waste of money that could have been used to actually help her with obtaining more knowledge of the field of medicine.

My son had the best time. When he came home, he spoke about it nonstop for an hour. He couldn't wait to show his grandmother (a nurse) all that he learned in the medical program. He had experiences that were amazing... simulation labs gave him such a great insight to the medical field.

My daughter's experience was top notch! She came home more confident, excited about her future in business, and made forever friends.

It was enjoyable making the lantern and dissecting the calf heart. I liked meeting new people.

When we spoke originally to sign up we were told this program offered a section in psychology. That was THE only reason she wanted to go. The program in place was disorganized and chaotic. Not impressed what so ever with this organization.

Drome without ac was not a good experience though

The lack of personal time and being able to go back to our dorms. Also the advisor was not interested in actually teaching or being with us. She always seemed bothered or annoyed with having to be around us. I otherwise loved the experience and getting to know all of the other people

My daughter enjoyed the program and learning more about careers in the CSI and legal professions. It provided a lot of useful information for her to consider in choosing a potential career path. She also benefited from being able to explore the college experience (i.e., living in dorms like a student, etc.).

I love how flexible schedules were and how accepting the faculty was!
