Damage to shipment
Damage to shipment. Video of driver dropping the pallet on its side damaging pallet even though he had a lift gate. Claim was denied! I will be filing a complaint with the FMCSA re: this.
1. Liftgate requirement:
While it’s correct that a liftgate was not selected during booking, that does not excuse the handling that led to the damage. The pallet was visibly damaged before it was even removed from the truck, as shown in the attached photos. Regardless of the selected options, both the carrier and broker have a duty to ensure freight is transported and delivered using proper equipment and reasonable care.
2. Residential delivery:
Even if this was a residential delivery, the carrier is still expected to handle freight responsibly. The damage seen could not have resulted from ordinary delivery procedures. The condition of the pallet upon arrival indicates clear mishandling during transit, not merely a delivery access issue.
3. Declared value vs. carrier liability:
We understand that the claim amount exceeds standard carrier liability. However, liability limits do not exempt a carrier or broker from responsibility for negligent handling. We are seeking compensation for damage caused by improper handling, not ordinary transit risk.
4. Declined insurance coverage:
While we declined optional insurance coverage, that does not waive the carrier’s or ExFreight’s obligation to handle the shipment properly. Insurance is meant to cover unforeseen circumstances, not to excuse negligence or physical mishandling in transit.
5. Carrier denial of claim:
We acknowledge that TForce issued the denial. However, ExFreight, as the contracting broker, facilitated the shipment and remains responsible for ensuring that its carrier partners uphold proper handling standards and that claims are reviewed fairly. The denial failed to consider the photographic evidence showing that the pallet was secure and intact at pickup and severely damaged before delivery.
To summarize, this damage was caused by improper handling during transit, not a booking oversight or packaging failure. The 3D printer, valued at over $2,000, was rendered inoperable as a result. We are not merely seeking accountability we are seeking fair compensation for the loss of property that was entrusted to your care through this shipment.

They provided me with a quick response, and answered my questions one by one, with great details. Awesome!
STAY AWAY FROM EXFREIGHT
I'm absolutely furious and disappointed. I shipped ONE package with Exfreight, and it’s already over TWO WEEKS late! Now I’ve been told it might arrive in another TWO WEEKS AT BEST – that’s over ONE MONTH of delay for a single shipment!
And the worst part? I paid over €1,500 for this shipping service! For that kind of money, I expect reliable service, proper communication, and at least a minimum level of professionalism. But with Exfreight, you get NONE of that.
Instead, they suddenly add hidden charges with no explanation whatsoever. I’ve tried reaching out multiple times by email, but either I get no response at all, or I receive a generic, useless template that doesn’t address my issue in any way.
Customer service? Nonexistent. Communication? Awful. I’ve never experienced such an unorganized and unprofessional company – and again, this is after paying more than €1,500!
Bottom line: Never again.
Exfreight has lost all trust.
Avoid this company at all costs. It’s just not worth the stress or money.

It was a mess that lastet more than 2 weeks, and ended with me having to agree to pay for extra fees - without they giving me an invoice so I could see what I was paying for.
They asked if I had a customs broker in Switzerland - when my adress is in Norway...
I pre-paid for door-to-door delivery, but they charged extra for residential area and tail lift ++.
I changed to a friends workadress in an idustrial area, so they didn't need a tail lift. But when they came it was with a tail lift...
They used so many days that easter came, and they don't deliver on the holidays, so then they charged for storage...
I can not have been their first private customer...?
Stay away!
Edit: The freight was booked thru my suplier in the US, and they, or the shipping company, used Ex-Freight when it arrived in Europe.
