I've studied a lot of on line courses, read books, researched university offerings, etc and nothing comes close to what is offered here at the Filmmakers Academy; real world filmmaking pros are here teaching what you need to know in the trenches, the real work of filmmaking. University programs can not touch what is being offered here, AND you wont accumulate ANY debt either, let alone astronomical university type debt. What Shane and Lydia Halbert have created here, is a disruptive idea of true genius, one that, surprisingly in this world, also comes directly from the heart; they TRULY want more than anything else to see you succeed as the filmmaker you want to be - THIS is the future of filmmaking!

I can't ask for a better group! The filmmaking accademy is literally a jump into film industry professionals, with tons of videos, a dedicated and super efficient app, coaching call, shadowing with the best in class to learn everything from A to Z. Yes, I'm happy to be part of these community. Really recommended!

Simply a great platform to learn on.
Great tutorials and expert opinion from career filmmakers.

I love the breadth of content available on the app, both in video and print. One excellent feature is the categories per career type, I.e. editor, camera assistant, producer. To me, this is one of the best educational apps for filmmakers on the market.

I am immensely grateful for the valuable knowledge imparted by FA, which has enabled me to expand my skills and deepen my passion for cinematography. I wholeheartedly endorse it as a resource for anyone who shares a love for this art form. Being located in a country with limited opportunities in the industry, FA has played a pivotal role in nurturing my expertise and nurturing my admiration for this captivating field. I love the information we are receiving from FA. I learn everyday, making my passion for cinematography growing daily. The FilmMakers Academy is actually run by Hollywood movie makers so you're getting real world lessons. The instructional videos are excellent, you won't get better with helpful downloads, I personally have found the podcasts very helpful which cover everything from lens choice to mental health to interview techniques. My Career had stalled until I signed up to the FA now it's moving again and I personally feel more empowered with the new knowledge I have gained. Wish something like this was around in the eighties.

FA has created so many wonderful opportunities for me that I wouldn’t have otherwise had. I’m so grateful for the community and the knowledge being shared there.

I doubt that going to film school would be that much better. I think they are doing a really great job. I never had the opportunity to go to film school so this is my film school.

Loads of content, access to professionals at all positions who work on Hollywood productions, commercial teams, etc. The community has incredibly talented people involved and people are active.

The community that I have been looking for. The FA provides a club akin to the ASC that is more accessible for filmmakers who are not making multi-million-dollar projects yet!

I enjoy learning from Shane Hurlbut. Even if you've already made one or two films, Shane has a lot of tips that can help up your game. I definitely recommend his program.
