Too disappointing
LEICESTER UK NOT USA
I took my daughter out for a special afternoon tea experience to celebrate her birthday, excited to indulge in the £20 per person package. However, what I had anticipated to be a delightful treat turned out to be rather basic and, frankly, disappointing. 😞
Right from the start, the experience was overshadowed by the lack of disability access at the entrance, which posed significant discomfort and inconvenience for us. This initial setback really set the tone for the rest of our visit.
We had informed them in advance that 1 of us was vegetarian but we were only offered vegetarian food.
As we were waiting to be seated, I spotted a tantalising array of herbal teas displayed behind the counter, which sparked my hopes for a more diverse beverage selection. To my dismay, we were only offered a standard English tea. While it was indeed flavorful, the options felt painfully limited. When I asked if a menu might be available to peruse our choices, I was met with the surprising answer that no menu existed.
The customer service, unfortunately, did not enhance the experience either. When I requested some water, the only option presented was tap water, with no consideration for bottled or sparkling alternatives that might have elevated the experience.
Overall, I had hoped for a much more enjoyable atmosphere that would make my daughter’s special day truly memorable.
Lastly, I should mention that we did not use the restrooms during our visit, so I can't speak to their condition.
In summary, I expected so much more for this significant occasion to make my daughter’s special day truly memorable.
