Went to FixAuto Mochdre to get a…

Went to FixAuto Mochdre to get a private quote for a scrape on the bumper of my 25 plate BMW X2. I was quite taken back that they wanted £30 for them to give the quote.
Never known anyone for anything charge for a quote
Needless to say I left won't be returning and won't be recommending.
Thanks for your reply but I'm not convinced. Normally get at least 2 quotes which I did. The repair was given to Premier as they were £150 cheaper than Fleetsmart. If your really busy you could just give a high quote and get £30 for nothing as the person giving the quote is already getting paid. Given an extra star for the answer but I still think it's bad business practice. Maybe you should think of changing this as it's open to over quoting if your busy?

Hello thank you for your feedback, as would have been explained we do charge for estimates and this covers the cost for admin etc, all customers are informed that this charge is deducted from the final invoice if the repair goes ahead, and of course it’s anyone’s prerogative to go ahead with the estimate or not. Sorry we didn’t match your expectations

Returned car in an undriveable state

While my experience started positively with the clear arrangements of collecting my car and delivering a courtesy car, unfortunately I feel extremely let down by the company.

My car was at the garage for over three weeks for repairs arranged by my insurance. Although surprising, and much longer than the original date I was given for completion of the work, this wasn’t a problem as I had been provided with a courtesy car.

My car was delivered back to me and I inspected the outside and was happy. However, when I later went to drive the car for the first time, a warning came up on the dashboard - Lights Malfunction. I had never seen this warning before. It transpired that the rear lights were not working at all, not even the brake lights (apart from the centre brake light). I telephoned Fix Auto immediately (it was 3pm on a Friday and I was about to go on the school run) but was told that everyone from the workshop had gone home and there was nothing they could do until the following week. This meant that I had to cancel events I had planned for the weekend as my car was not legal to drive.

Fix Auto didn’t contact me until 3.15pm the following Monday. They denied that the fault was down to them. I find this hard to believe as it is a massive coincidene that this happened the first time the engine was switched on after delivery of my car. They also denied touching the electrics. I was supplied with a quote for work on the rear bumper while my car was at the garage and therefore I am presuming that this is when the damage was done. I was offered to “pop in to the garage at my convenience for someone to have a look at it as a gesture of good will”. This wasn’t helpful as
a) the garage is located 40 minutes away and I could not travel there during work hours or be granted time off work to do so
b) this would leave me without a car (bearing in mind it had taken over three weeks for work to be completed last time)

I therefore, had to contact a local garage who, unlike Fix Auto, were willing to help me. They provided me with a courtesy car and later informed me that the fault was due to a loose connection in the rear bumper. Unfortunately, this work had to be paid for by myself at a cost of £40.

After having my car for two weeks to…

After having my car for two weeks to repair they returned it to me in worse condition than it was before it went there and said they had to "drop tools". Took all my badges off and left writing on the boot, and when i called them they couldn't give me a straight answer and refused to give the badges back. They left a mess on my car and had the cheek to return it like that when it wasn't in that condition before. And then called me telling me to come and get my car or they have to charge me for storage. I was disgusted how i had my car back. My boyfriend took it to another garage and they said they didn't understand what the problem was and why this garage hadn't sort it and was shocked how they left it. I would recommend not to take your car there because i was very disappointed.

Firstly, we were instructed by the insurance company to stop work on your vehicle after we identified evidence of previous poor repairs. As a repair centre, we must follow the insurer's directives and cannot proceed without their authorisation. This is why we were unable to complete the repairs, despite knowing there would be no issues in carrying them out.

The removal of the badges was part of the repair process we began before receiving the stop instruction. Unfortunately, as work was halted unexpectedly, the vehicle was returned to you in its incomplete state. We understand how upsetting this must have been, and for that, we sincerely apologise.

Regarding the badges, if you could kindly provide us with a copy of the invoice for their replacement, we will happily reimburse you for the cost. We also regret any confusion caused during our phone conversations and any impression of insensitivity related to the vehicle storage charges, which were only mentioned as part of our policy.

Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we take it very seriously. We strive to provide high-quality service and ensure transparency in every step of the process. We are deeply sorry that this experience fell short of your expectations and are committed to resolving this matter.

I have just been followed by your van tailgating me into Mochre and clearly exceeding the speed limit! I pulled in and then your van sped past me reported to the police! Get your driver to slow down!!

My Wife's Car

My Wife's car needed a replacement front bumper together with Headlight, front Grille, number plate and some minor nearside wing damage after a minor collision.
The quality of Workmanship was Excellent, considering they also had to match the colour of 18year old paint.
Despite reading some Negative Reviews. I can only comment on the work they did for me.

Unfortunately had to book my car in with this shower of monkeys for a small dent on my door , I asked Elaine on the phone if the garage did paintless dent removal , to which she replied yes , she lied on the phone , had to T cut some scratches out of the front N\S front wing which were not there before , booked my car in for one day and it was there all week, I have now been advised that I did not need to use this garage for repairs, to top it off they have used tyre shine on my tyres which I now have to jet wash off , if I could leave any lower than a 1 star review I would, I had to cancel four days work last week and have not been able to book any work for the last two days as a self employed driving instructor ,as they did not give a date of completion, as the car had to be re paint protected by an outside company , if PDR was done which was less than an hours work , you are just creaming it in from the insurance companies Elaine told me on the phone that you did do paintless dent removal , hence why my car was booked in for one day or I would not have accepted a non dual controlled car as a courtesy car . The car was NOT completed to my satisfaction , as the tyres were coated with tyre dressing which was not on the car when it went in for repairs , My nearside front wing was not scratched either , as far as I am concerned , you have done a load of unnecessary work to my car The fuel tank on my car was empty when I went to pick it up , Reach out to you ? I would never use any of your garages again . Had I known that I did not have to , my car would have gone to Barten and Nicholls in Llangefni

Continuous communication throughout, I dropped my vehicle off on the Tuesday and received a quality courtesy car. The Thursday my vehicle was ready to collect. Quality of the work was fantastic. The customer service from the two wonderful ladies in the office were brilliant. Would highly recommend. Thank you, Tony.

Complete mess by a bunch of Amateurs.

Used by the insurance company after another car pulled out on me and damaged the front. Work carried out included replacing the drivers side wing, front bumper, grille, light, alloy, tyre, steering etc.
After taking the car back I completed a visual check and found the panels no longer line up correctly. Front light pushed into the bumper which has taken paint off already, blemish in the spray on the new wing, windscreen seal not secured, wipers no longer work correctly, parking sensors no longer work correctly, indicators have no audible sound, scratches in the drivers door and new wing, even though they’ve been freshly sprayed, they’ve even fitted the wrong tyre and there’s white paint splatter in the rear passenger door.

Reception staff I’ve dealt with were lovely, but the quality of the work is well below standard.

Update -

The car has been classified as unroadworthy by an independent (insurance company appointed) inspector due to the poor repairs. Fixauto are denying responsibility even though I’ve all necessary photographic proof, which I have now sent to the insurance company. Fix auto even suggested that the wrong tyre is fine because “it’s the same brand”. Cowboys is all I can say. Cowboys and liars. AVOID

The vehicle is now being sent to the main dealer to be corrected.

Update -

We’ve managed to find the issue with the front parking sensors (which we’re all part of the repair) the clumsy clot who was working in the drivers footwell on the wiring and didn’t put it back together again properly also broke the connector to the speaker that provides the sound and the wires were shoved up inside.

Wipers have also been fixed now by removing, resetting and reattaching.

The front bumper though sadly cannot be corrected without stripping as was identified by an independent inspector, again the clumsy clots broke the locating lug so it can’t be bolted down, so they just left that bit. We’ve managed to reposition the headlamp though so that no more paint is being removed due to rubbing. Speaking of paint, it appears that what we thoygh was some kind of residue left, is not - the paints top coat has somehow been removed, which cannot be polished out obviously. All the paint on the drivers door, new wing and the near side passenger door now needs removing and re-spraying. The finish left by the muppets at fixauto is like the texture of an orange. I’ve got great pictures, I’ll upload and share them also. My 8 year old can paint better. They’re completely without talent down there at Colwyn Bay. Amateurs.

I’ll be uploading the photos showing the state the car was returned to me in.

Just in relation now to the reply posted below.
You are 100% correct, I did not give you the opportunity to rectify any issues. A company that QAs a vehicle and sends it out as satisfactory in the state that mine as delivered really doesn’t I still trust. I spoke with your service manager who was happy and satisfied that the vehicle was up to your standards. I certainly won’t trust you when the feedback I received included “we noticed the wipers weren’t working properly but decided not to fix it” and “the same brand of tyre was used so that makes it ok” - the wipers were working prior to being sent to you and Dashcam footage showed this clearly. An independent insurance approved and appointed 3rd party engineer found the faults you chad caused including damage to the loom. The tone I’ve used is directly reflective of the professionalism demonstrated by your staff. If you don’t like it, don’t give people cause to complain, and note that I have (thanks to a subject access request) all the correspondence from your company to my insurance company and 3rd parties. This isn’t a battle you will win, you were at fault. Accept it, and accept that the work carried out was poor - both the insurance company agreed, along with the engineer.

Why in the world would I trust you to repair anything?! Your attitude towards the complaint has stank right from the start, and this is the response. I have no issue at all airing your dirty laundry!!

In reviewing the details you've provided, I must respectfully disagree with some of the allegations made and tone used. unfortunately under your instruction we were not allowed to attend the independent engineers review, so we haven't had the opportunity to rectify any faults found, as you refused to bring the vehicle back into us.

Service at Colwyn Bay Fix Auto

Relates to Colwyn Bay franchise, North Wales Fix Auto. Eventually the repair was of high quality but the estimate was produced in August and only finally completed at the end of November. They delayed and changed the times and also added work not required. The insurance cost was over £3000. The hire car they gave me was fine but I was wrongly charged an NCP fine (which was later dismissed) but Fix Auto insisted on trying to charge me an admin fee (I had many, many phone calls and texts about this). Only after I escalated it to a Director did this desist.
Summary: job quality good but service poor.

Took weeks and when it was nearly ready should have told me. I filled the car up as I didn’t think it would be back any time soon and was told there was no reimbursement
