Détails du produit
Open the pages and enter the labyrinthine House, where tides fill the monumental Halls, and the corridors and vestibules are home to thousands upon thousands of statues. This is the realm of Piranesi, the titular character of Susanna Clarke's poignant novel that examines, among other things, the beauty and sorrow of solitude. It is a truly ingenious puzzle of a book – one that’s best discovered firsthand. The less you know at the outset, the more captivated you'll be. Bound in deep blues and gleaming golds, this Folio edition is as beautiful and enigmatic as its contents. The artist Julin De Narvaez has distilled the mystery and majesty of the House into six gorgeous illustrations, while a brand-new afterword by the author offers a glimpse into the sparks of inspiration that led to Piranesi's creation.

A handsome book, from the gilded page top to the cut-away slipcase through which the cover peeps. Finely printed and bound, the book may seem a little expensive, but its quality dispels all concerns about the price.

Great edition, excellent gift for my wife, but the kids get the most enjoyment so far — I read to them, won’t risk them handling it ;)

Beautiful book. I don't like the more modern art in some of their books, but this one they nailed the atmosphere of the book with the interior art.

'Piranesi is a great example of a great book and a great design. The Folio Society's printing production is outstanding. Particularly 'Piranesi" is one of the best quality examples: the illustrations are exclusive. It is a great book from any point of view.
