A Bad Experience With Gappsy
I had a really concerning experience with Gappsy.
They created a page about my business and labeled it “Not Recommended,” and included information about my business that was inaccurate.
I contacted them and sent them links showing the correct information.
Their response was that they were too busy to edit it and instead told me I could pay $97, edit the page myself, and get a “positive recommendation.” Their own pricing page says the paid listing includes a “positive, recommended review.”
What bothered me even more was what happened next.
Two of my actual clients left reviews on the Gappsy page sharing their real experience working with me. Those reviews were removed. I took a screenshot of one of them before it disappeared.
When I asked why the reviews were removed, I was told they do not allow incentivized reviews or “bashing of our platform,” and I was again sent the link to pay for the listing and reminded that I could get a positive recommendation.
For me, the issue is not the $97.
The issue is the principle.
I do not believe a business should have to pay money to correct inaccurate information published about them or to change a negative recommendation into a positive one.
I will not pay for a positive badge or recommendation.
I would rather let my work, my case studies, and my actual clients speak for my business.
Based on my experience, I would be very cautious before paying for a listing here.
