Awful experience with Gardenhouse24 nz
I would never buy from Gardenhouse24 again. The roof was delivered 7 days later than they told us it would be, because Gardenhouse24 ordered it from their supplier far too late. So I spent $700 on tarpaulins to cover the cabin during some heavy rain while we waited on the roof delivery, (Gardenhouse24 refuses to reimburse me for the tarpaulins).
Gardenhouse24 told me the wrong roof purlin size, so the builders had already installed the wrong purlin size. Once we realised we been told the wrong size, I had to get the builders back to take the wrong purlins out and install the new ones, which costs me hundreds of dollars in extra labour. Gardenhouse24 said they'll reimburse me for the material cost of the wrong purlins, but not for the labour.
Gardenhouse24 did not tell me there was a waterproofing guide until we had started building the cabin. I only found out that there was a waterproofing guide because I had called them to ask where the roof was because the delivery was late. The waterproof guide came up and the person on the phone said: "Oh! Did I not send that to you?" They sounded surprised. Gardenhouse24 then sent me the waterproofing guide which says 'if you don't do these things while building then you void the warranty.' Which seems like pretty important information to tell someone up front, and not when they've already started building!
The downspout is the wrong size for the gutter drop, so I've ended up going to the store to buy a PVC pipe that'll actually fit.
There are gaps in the upper walls up to 10mm thick where the light and draft comes through. The largest gap was too big to just fill with sealant so we had to cut a piece of wood to size to seal it up and that looks messy.
Overall it's been such a nightmare. If I were to buy a cabin again I'd just hire a local building company to design and build one, which would cheaper, better insulated, and far less of a headache.
