Garmin – Once a Leader, Now a Disappointment
A truly disappointing approach to the customer. Garmin used to be synonymous with excellent customer–seller relations-now it’s a disaster.
Less than a year after the warranty expired, the watch started having issues: the battery would suddenly drain from 30% to zero within an hour, there were pace spikes during running, and most importantly, a defect in the touchscreen appeared, creating a dead zone on part of the display.
After contacting support, I was offered a post-warranty replacement with a newer generation model-which would have been fine if not for the price they asked, which is comparable to buying a brand-new watch from any retailer other than Garmin’s official store.
Unfortunately, brand support in Poland practically does not exist. Even though the watch is out of warranty, the issues are clearly 100% manufacturing defects, and the manufacturer does not even attempt to retain the customer.
It might be time for a change, as for half the price of a Garmin watch you can get a comparable-or even better-device from competitors.
