Amazing Lamb

Had my easter lamb from Gazegill and it was exceptional, delivery was on time and it was the best lamb I have ever tasted.

I was disappointed by the lack of…

I was disappointed by the lack of customer support. Despite receiving a broken item, Gaze Gill Organics refused to acknowledge their obligation to replace it or refund it under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Their answer was short and dismissive, stating that on their websites says that when ordering organic eggs, the delivery is at buyers' risk. The first order was delivered with some eggs broken and I did not complain. However, the next one was received with all eggs broken and the box was re- taped several times. I would not recommend them as a trusted company or a place with good customer service. A very disappointing customer relations and service. If there was a 0 star for their customer support, I would give them it.

Poor quality

Unfortunately the minced beef is very bad quality. Extremely chewy. Tried it with making meatballs, burgers & bolognaise. I understand the meat is organic and should be of high quality for the price paid. I was also kindly offered a replacement which I appreciate but again was of the same standard.

The quality of ground meat has dropped…

The quality of ground meat has dropped dramatically, while the price has gone up. I've been a customer for several years and have always been satisfied. However, recently, it seems they're focusing on quantity over quality. The ground meat is ground with cartilage, membranes, and tendons that are impossible to chew. This isn't just one case; for the second time, I've received meat that I can't eat. I'm writing this comment after consulting with a friend who was also a customer and had the exact same experience with Gazegill Organic ground meat. Unfortunately, I won't be buying from them again.

Lovely food, fast service, great packaging.

Congratulations to Gazegill on their superb delivery service. A really sturdy box arrived early this morning with our lovely meat order, beautifully packed and so fresh that the ice packs were still completely solid. It doesn't get faster than that! I'm very happy with Gazegill.

Wonderful raw milk

I had my first ever experience of raw milk and I was not disappointed. It was delivered promptly and very well packaged to ensure it kept cold. The milk is delicious and fresh. I’ll be a returning customer!

I love it!

Although this is not my first order, it won’t be my last. The items were very well packed, delivered overnight, and the meat remained cold, with some items still frozen. They always provide quality products. Thank you.

I'm sure the product is wonderful but…

I'm sure the product is wonderful but in my case I wasn't left satisfied. I made a complaint and was left feeling rather unheard. I can see from all the comments here they seem to be more interested in being right rather than taking any points onboard. It's the way one handles things that matters.

After reviewing our email correspondence with you, we can confirm that your feedback was acknowledged.

All of orders (apart from non mainland UK postcodes) are sent via a next-day delivery service. However, as with all couriers, delays can occasionally occur for reasons beyond our control.

This is why all orders are packed to withstand 48 hours in transit, even without the use of refrigerated vans. Your order arrived within 48 hours, and as far as we were made aware, there was no issues with the produce.

We take all feedback very seriously and continuously review our delivery procedures to ensure the best service possible for our customers. However, immediate changes are not always feasible, especially when it comes to switching couriers, as there are countless logistical challenges involved, as well as the need to evaluate whether a new courier would be beneficial for our customer base as a whole.

Refrigerated vans are not widely available, and are typically only used by large companies who have their own fleet of vans.

When it was incorrectly stated that it was unlawful to transport meat without the use of refrigerated vans, we clarified that this was not the case. We do not feel is it unreasonable to present facts when being told we are being unlawful. As mentioned, all of our orders are packed in accordance with the guidelines set by the Food Standards Agency.

In the very rare instances where an order arrives and the produce is no longer safe for consumption due to courier issues, we always do our best to rectify the situation.

Happy repeat customer

I have ordered from Gazegill for a few years now. I actually had the pleasure of visiting and camping two years ago and meeting the farmer and animals which are so wonderfully cared for.

I regularly get offal mince and slow cooker packs that are excellent value. In the summer we love the bbq pack to stock us up.

I am absolutely baffled by the negative reviews. I would recommend Gazegill to everyone.

Garbage

If you think ribeye steaks measuring 1.5cm at their thickest is ok then you’ll be happy with Gazegill ribeyes. I complained and the response was simply that they go by weight. My guess is the steaks I received are off cuts and rather than selling them as such , they’ve palmed off their rubbish on the customer. Add to this their recent huge price rise, there’s no way I’d use this company again. I don’t buy food to throw in the bin.

Hi there,

As we mentioned to you numerous times, steaks are sold by weight and not thickness. The thickness of a steak in relation to weight can vary slightly between each cut and animal.

We repeatedly asked for photo confirmation of your issue, as well as for the steaks to be weighed. The only photo provided was extremely blurry and visually illegible, so we kindly asked for photos which highlighted your issue more clearly, at which point you informed us you had 'binned them'.

Without adequate evidence of your claims, we are unable to verify them and thus did not refund or replace them. If adequate evidence was provided, we would have happily refunded or replaced the items in question.

We would never 'palm off our rubbish on the customer'. As well as this being an outlandish and baseless claim, we do not have 'rubbish' as we utilise the entire carcass of the animal.

I’m honestly puzzled by the negative…

I’m honestly puzzled by the negative reviews for Gazegill Organics, as I’ve been ordering most of our meat and raw milk from them for months with no issues. The taste of their meat compared to supermarket options is on another level—so much richer and flavorful. The raw milk is also incredible, enhancing everything from tea to cereal, and we’ve genuinely felt the health benefits in our household. Delivery is always prompt, and we’ve had no problems; even when I missed a delivery, they were more than happy to leave it on the front porch as requested. I freeze most items right away and pretty much only buy from Gazegill now. I’ll definitely keep ordering from them!

I came to leave a good review when I…

I came to leave a good review when I saw the tons of bad reviews this place has. I have no idea why - they deliver super quickly and their price given the quality & convenience is great. I routinely buy their sausage & burger boxes + raw milk & eggs and it's a very quick & easy way to maintain an animal based diet. 100% would recommend. (I can't wait to try their steaks)

Be aware excessive Nitrate Content

Be aware excessive Nitrate Content . I used a Food Detector Nitrate Concentration Meter Analyzer, and compared with meet from other farm shops, as I am on mainly carnivore diet. Although I've been using Gazegill for the last few years , I am now very sceptic about the quality of their products.

Hi Viorel,

We believe this review is linked to the fact we are no longer able to deliver to the Isle of Man.

This is because it was costing us around £80 to ship orders to the isle of Man (which was unknown to us until the past few weeks), and we were losing money as a business by doing so.

We are a small business, and do not have the manpower to inform each one of our customers when a change is made to each individual post code up and down the country.

Please feel free to find another business which would give you what you deem to be an acceptable level of communication, and update you about each of their internal changes in regards to delivery areas.

Edit: Hi Viorel, we mentioned in the above, we are a small business, and like a vast majority of other businesses, we cannot communicate every single thing which may or may not have been a potential issue to every one of our customers.

We also responded to all the emails you sent within a few working hours of them being sent.

You are/were not a subscription customer, meaning that there was no direct disruption of service e.g a standing order being cancelled out of the blue.

As we originally mentioned, please feel free to find an alternative company which gives you a level of communication you deem acceptable and that are not 'incompetent', although we anticipate not even Amazon would be able to meet your expectations.

Wrong items sent and no refund

So they sent the wrong items. It happens.

After a bit of to-and-fro they accepted that they'd make a mistake and they asked me to donate the items to a local charity.

And they would refund me...

Nice, right?

Only the refund never arrived.

Maybe I shoulda just chased it up and not written a bad review, we all make mistakes…

Right?

Like putting 5 jars of pesto in an eco-friendly-stay-fresh-recyclable £8 delivery package .

Why?

A few jars of pesto ain’t gonna perish. Where’s the common sense and roots based, ethically mindedness?

Too many mistakes in one simple order.
