I started working with Bentobox a few months ago and I love it. Samantha was patient, quick to respond and very helpful with putting our website together.
Now that our website is up and running, I have had no issues at all. I like that they always send out emails with new information or helpful tips on how to draw in more customers. If I ever need help with my account their customer service responds right away.
I would like them to improve their online ordering service and maybe create an app for it, but other than that I am quite pleased. So much so that I started using them for my other 2 restaurants as well!
4 years of complete customer joy
We've been using Bento Box for 4 years and have always received excellent attention and service. Our ability to control website changes has been smooth and easy for any of our managers. We've frequently changed text and images to keep the site fresh. Anytime we've had difficulty (sometimes with quality of image we are trying to update), customer service supports our needs immediately! Very happy.
BentoBox is not reliable and throws crappy websites together unless you pay for customized services
BentoBox is a great concept for the right food business/restaurant, or the restaurant that BentoBox wants to promote and push forward. As for my food delivery business - I was promised a concept/ideal that they couldn't deliver.
The initial sales call showed me everything that they could do from the design standpoint - the backend, examples from other websites, how the work, and the price points.
I paid for their services and was assigned an onboarding manager - Grace. We had the "kick off" call on a Thursday, to where I filled out and send over as much information as I could. On Friday, I updated her with new information without a response or confirmation. On Monday, I emailed her again with no response on confirmation. Suddenly on Tuesday she popped up responding to my emails, after I went through BentoBox website's customer service and my sales rep.
Later that week, they showed me the initial website. The design was beautiful; however, everything else was poor quality. My food photos were stretched out and looked bad on the website. When inquired about that I was told to send "high resolution photos" that were "taken horizontally".
Next, I was given the splash page login for and was quite confused to how I did not have the catering store (which I sign-up and paid for) and couldn't make any edits. When I Finally got ahold of my account manager she told me she sent the splash page instead of the actual website for edits.
When I received the right login, I ended up spending countless hours day/night, approximately 48+ hours, on editing the website. Basically, I'm designing my own website to look professional as they advertised it would be and not a crap job they threw together which is my website.
I was promised that for $238 a month BentoBox would manage, update, and do my website for me. I would only need to logon to update the menu, delivery zones, and product/items for sale.
Instead, for $238 I am managing my onboarding manager's work, managing the website, updating the website, creating the website via the template they designed, updating the menu, delivery zones, etc.
I requested small changes to be made to the website - such as putting the logo on the top left corner of the header as it's customary for any business to have their logo in the header. Instead, Grace added the logo to the somewhere in the homepage and it looked really crappy and unprofessional. I requested the menu to have links underneath and to remove the overview. Their example pages showed that this could be done, instead they linked the menu, removed the header, and it's just a page. I have NO faith nor trust in BentoBox at this point. I don't know how they advertise such beautiful, professional, and sellable restaurant websites and I got crappy, thrown together, haphazrd website that would of made me embarrassed and ashamed as a business owner and executive chef.
If I knew this then I could have stuck with Wix for cheaper, designed my own site, had the website up and running by now, and perhaps made sales. I have lost potential revenue/sales due to BentoBox. My sales rep made promises they couldn't deliver. My onboarding manager may be nice but seems to be clueless on what the client request/wants.
I requested a full refund and cancellation of services. I will design my own website, like I'm doing with BentoBox, save myself $238 per month, and can get it up and running within a day or two versus weeks, perhaps a month (as BentoBox said it would take a month to do overall but sales rep said they could have it down in a week or two).
I would suspect the websites that they promote paid for full customization and not pay for some template-based website which is what they offer for $99 a month and "claims" they will manage it but they do not, and the extra catering store for $151 is just a basic ordering template with added features.
In the future, I will hire a professional team to fully design a website and avoid BentoBox in the future.

Ease of Use, But Want Advanced Features
Overall, BentoBox is an easy way to maintain a website & online store. However, I wish the online store functions were a little more advanced so that various data can be tracked, information easily seen, as well as an easier shopping cart that can be integrated quickly and easily with 3rd party distributors.
In other words, it may be a little TOO simple.
