He was our tour guide during our cruise from Luxor to Aswan. We visited all the temples along the route with him. He is very professional, knowledgeable, and always on time. His explanations were clear and interesting, and he shared many fascinating historical stories. He was very friendly and made the trip enjoyable. He also offered to take photos and knew the best spots for great pictures. Everything was well organized, and he made sure everyone was comfortable. I highly recommend him for anyone traveling from Luxor to Aswan.

I booked a 3-night, 4-day Nile Cruise (December 5–8, 2025) through Girasol Tours. The correspondence with the agency was timely and professional, and all information provided prior to the trip was accurate.

The Jamila 5 Nile Cruise* ship was modest but clean and satisfactory. The menu offered a great variety of international dishes—including beef, chicken, vegetables, and fruit—alongside traditional Egyptian cuisine.

Most of all, the true highlight of our journey was the cheerful hospitality and professionalism of the Jamila staff.

A few notes for future travelers:

Smoking: We found the guide's constant smoking throughout the tour quite unpleasant as we were accustomed to smoke-free environments where smoking is prohibited in buildings, parks, and beaches.

Massage Services: I recommend avoiding the massage on the Jamila. It felt more like having oil applied to the skin rather than a professional massage, leaving me feeling sticky and needing a shower immediately. Furthermore, there were significant hygiene concerns, as the staff did not wash their hands between clients.

All tours are very well planned.

Vivo em Brasil y estaba buscando una agencia para hacer un viaje para Egipto y
Jordania, con otra pareja de amigos uruguayos como nosotros. Buscando en la
internet encontré la Girasol Egypt Travel and Tours que tiene sede en Fortaleza y
como después supe también en Egipto. Desde el comienzo me pareció una
agencia confiable. Traté directamente con Emad que desde el principio se mostró
super solicito respondiendo siempre inmediatamente. Consegui montar con él un
viaje personalizado y a mejor precio que los paquetes prontos que otras agencias
me ofrecían. En Egipto todo funcionó perfectamente a lo planeado. Tuvimos
siempre un van a nuestra disposición y un guía Sameh que nos acompaño por
todos los viajes que hicimos através de Egipto. Sam como lo llamamos fue
excepcional, además de ser super atento con nosotros que ya estamos en la
séptima década, nos mostró un gran conocimiento de historia y cultura egipcia.
En Jordania también fuimos también muy bien tratados y todo ocurrió sin
dificultades como en Egipto.
Destaco la buena organización de la empresa Girasol, la puntualidad de todos los
servicios y la calidad humana del personal que cuidaron de nosotros con mucho
cariño y hicieron que nuestra experiencia fuese inolvidable! Recomiendo fuertemente esta empresa.

Ao decidir uma viagem para o Egito, esperei encontrar lá, dos responsáveis pelo pacote, profissionais treinados, simpáticos,não foi isso que aconteceu. Ofereceram guia repetitivo, às vezes quando explicava,tinha atitudes inadequadas. Ficava a todo tempo nos importunando com relação às gorjetas.
A terceirização de pessoas de qualidade ruim; em um dos transportadores a nós oferecidos, inclusive presenciamos uma discussão, com empurrões e xingamentos, entre o motorista e o pessoal do hotel ( podem buscar imagens),bem tenso para nós, que estávamos em um país onde não conhecíamos os costumes. Por fim, treinem melhor seus profissionais e observem que qualidade de transporte oferecerão aos seus turistas.

Dal Cairo in fuoristrada alle Oasi del Deserto Ocvidentale Egiziano sino a Luxor per rientrare in aeroporto al Cairo. Dieci giorni magnifici dall'ambiente desertico delle magnifiche oasi all'Egitto dei Faraoni. Due viaggi in uno. Ottima.guida Mohamed sempre con noi. Bravi nella guida gli autisti e nella disponibilitàverso di noi.. Le sistemazioni tutte di ottimo livello dal magnifico compement del Deserto Bianco, al lodge dell'Oasi di Dakhla, all'hotel dell'Oasi di El Karga al magnifico hotel di luxor sul Nilo. Sempre buona la cucina sia negli alberghi che nei ristoranti locali. Siamo partiti in otto amici e tutti molto soddisfatti con il desiderio di ritornare. Grazie Tarek per avere organizzato magnificamente il viaggio.

Amei a viagem, um país de cultura infindável, hoteis ótimos, mas confesso que fiquei um pouco frustrada com alguns acontecimentos no decorrer do passeio. Nosso grupo escolheu a girassol justamente pelas ótimas avaliações mas creio que não tivemos a boa experiência pelo fato de não termos contratado todos os passeios pela mesma empresa, o que provavelmente nos fez ver o outro lado obscuro da mesma. Uma forma intimidadora e muitas vezes constrangedora, já que optamos por fazer vários passeios através de outras empresas com melhores valores, fazendo- nos sentir acoados bem como os demais guias que contratamos para os outros passeios, sendo pressionadas por pessoas próximo aos hotéis em que estávamos, tendo por várias vezes que apresentar documentos, abrir porta-malas de carros, até mesmos os motoristas de uber que chamávamos na porta dos hotéis. Senti uma certa perseguição. Não gostei da pressão feita pelo guia com relação às gorjetas impostas e a forma com que interrogava o pessoal das recepções, maleiros, etc sempre fazendo uma acareaçao sobre os valores dados e os recebidos. Enfim, um lugar esplêndido, de uma beleza histórica gigantesca, mas que poderia ser perfeita se não fosse pelo estresse que passamos junto à empresa.

Initial review:

In May 2025 we took a group trip to Egypt and hired this agency to organise part of the trip, especially the reception, internal air travel, hotels and morning tours on the days of our stay. We chose not to buy the optional tours that this agency offered us, as their prices were absurdly more expensive than those offered by competing agencies on ‘TripAdvisor’, “Viator” and ‘GetYourGuide’, with some of their prices being up to 400% more expensive than those of their competitors. Apart from that, we felt embarrassed by the aggressive manner of the guide from this agency, who insisted on us tipping him and everyone who assisted us (drivers, stewards, waiters, chambermaids, etc.), which made it clear that him and/or this agency had some form of participation in the tips we gave. Furthermore, after the guide from this agency found out that we hadn't bought any of their optional tours, he did all the other tours we had booked very quickly, as if he was only interested in fulfilling the contract, running in front of us and giving explanations very quickly. That's why I don't recommend this agency.

Additional review:

In view of the allegations made by Girasol Egypt Travel and Tours in response to my initial review, I will respond to them below:

1) Regarding the alleged “UPGRADES (extra contract)”: all allegations made by Girasol Egypt Travel and Tours are absolutely false, since there was no upgrade whatsoever, because we paid (and very much) for everything we received, without exception, including the advertised “five-star hotels” that such agency contracted with us that were far from being considered international five-star standard hotels, because, in fact, in Egypt what is known as a “five-star hotel” is an international four-star standard hotel (but such agency does not clarify this, we found out on our own in Egypt). If you want to stay in a five-star hotel in Egypt, look for hotels from renowned international chains such as Marriott, Hilton, Accor, IHG, Radisson, Hyatt, Four Seasons and Steigenberger, because any hotel from a chain other than these will not be considered an international five-star standard hotel.

2) Regarding Girasol Egypt Travel and Tours’ claim that “Our team values ethics”: the guide assigned by such agency to accompany us, in addition to stressing us out with his aggressive approach and repeatedly insisting that we MUST tip him and all the people who served us (including drivers, porters, waiters, valets, etc.) in amounts pre-established by him, which made it clear that there was some form of participation on their part (the guide and such agency) in the gratuities we gave to the people who served us; he also harassed one of the women in our group during the Nile cruise and displayed a behavior that would be unacceptable anywhere in the world, especially in a Muslim country, such as kissing the women in our group on the cheek and hugging them (in any civilized country he would be arrested for sexual harassment, but since we were not familiar with Egyptian Law and in order not to ruin our trip completely, our friend who was harassed by the guide of such agency preferred not to go to the Egyptian police).

3) Regarding the claim made by the Girasol Egypt Travel and Tours that “the tourist guide used the time in some days according to your own request, in order to let you do your own parallel activities or extra sightseeing organized by yourselves”: this is absolutely false, because we did not make any request in this regard, quite the opposite, the guide ran ahead of us, we had to catch up with him and the explanations he gave us were very quick, before moving on to another one.

4) Regarding the claim made by the Girasol Egypt Travel and Tours agency “It is normal to find differences in price with Freelance professionals or online international platforms such as Viator and GetYourGuide, which operate on a large scale and, often, do not have the same fiscal and regulatory commitments as local agencies in Egypt”: is a price difference of over 400% normal? Ridiculous. Furthermore, all the agencies we hired through the aforementioned platforms for the optional tours are Egyptian travel agencies.

For all these reasons, I reaffirm my initial review and repeat: look for another agency to travel to Egypt.

Excelente assistência desde a chegada no aeroporto do Cairo, check in nos aeroportos, check in nos hoteis, serviço dos hotéis, transfer, passeios, transporte, motoristas, guias... com destaque para o guia Maher.

El guía Sam Massoud recomendado al 100%, respetuoso, maneja muy bien la historia de todo Egipto, se nota que le apasiona lo que hace; adicional, es atento y cuida a los turistas. La agencia tiene un itinerario muy organizado, son puntuales con los horarios y se preocupan porque estés cuidado. Adicional el representante es muy atento, te buscan y te ayudan hacer las gestiones en los aeropuertos ya que no todos hablan el idioma inglés. Algo a mejorar es ser más transparentes con las propinas, son obligatorias y tienen hasta tarifas por días y persona (los turistas no saben eso)

Maher foi um excelente guia, nos explicou tudo sobre a história do Egito, tem formação em História e conseguiu traduzir super bem tudo que foi Egito Antigo para a sociedade e civilização atual. Foi super pontual, correto, fala o português muito bem e nos levou para todos os lugares que pedimos. Excelente experiência e dias com ele!

Serieta', efficienza, afffidabilita'
Agenzia efficiente e puntuale. Ci si può' fidare nel mandare i soldi in anticipo, Tarek e' una persona molto seria. Disponibile anche a cambiare il programma durante il viaggio.
Le macchine private sempre pulite e abbastanza nuove. Autisti capaci e prudenti, tutti molto bravi, con guida tranquilla vs il resto dei guidatori del paese. Spesso - ma non sempre (e prego rimediare) - l'acqua viene offerta su ogni macchina.
Gli hotel prenotati e la nave sul Nilo si sono rivelati più' che buoni; il cibo scelto sempre all'altezza anche per italiani. Forse si poteva cambiare più' spesso ristorante e scegliere una terrazza meno caotica per l'aperitivo fronte Piramidi.
Il viaggio e' andate benissimo e molto ben cadenzato.
Guida ben preparata, con un più' che buono italiano. Capace di chiacchierare al di fuori della presentazione artistica dei monumenti e anche sul vissuto egiziano.
L'unica pecca - e prego rimediare per futuri viaggiatori - e' chiarire che occorre portarsi dietro la carta di credito visto che tutti i musei non accettano contanti (e non e' scontato che ci si porti dietro la carta di credito) cosi' da evitare eventuali disguidi.
