There’s a lot of misses in the abode product
- Syncing the iota required me to chat with you guys (twice).
- Door and windows syncing was very good and easy
- the door bell is a nightmare: it took me 2 hours and multiple reboot to have it sync. Battery life lasted less than a day in Canadian winter. You should offer me a full refund for it.
- lightbulbs I was never able to have them sync.
- push notifications are too vague: it should identify what components had been triggered.
Horrible Company
My entire nearly $900 order never arrived due to being lost in transit by FedEx. Abode refused to seek reimbursement from FedEx to either refund me or re-ship the items I ordered. Horrible customer service experience taking multiple days just to get an email response back.
Two faulty products and now Abode are…
Two faulty products and now Abode are ignoring my emails asking for another replacement.
I feel cheated
I feel cheated. I was a legacy Abode user. Abode changed their business model and unknowingly I attempted to get ad hoc monitoring, selected 1 month self monitoring (which was TOTALLY unnecessary as I already had that), because I did that I was removed from legacy status. Abode chose not to return me to legacy, was forced to purchase self monitoring with timeline, so I could have timeline and alerts restored.
Before that change Abode was excellent, now simply average.
Had a problem with a camera
Had a problem with a camera, started with tech support but nothing worked, replacement (and team handling) it were excellent, no problems getting a replacement. Excellent support and service
Great support when needed.
A couple of small problems I had were quickly and easily addressed. Off to a great start!
Waiting on refund over 3 weeks from…
Waiting on refund over 3 weeks from returning merchandise . No response when making inquiries. Very disappointed in customer service. I will be reluctant to recommend.
I purchased a video doorbell
I purchased a video doorbell. It was on sale and offered free shipping. I received the doorbell and was able to hardwire it to the internet but it wouldn’t link with WiFi. Tech support got involved and wasn’t able to get it connected. They sent a replacement one to try and fix the issue. It still wouldn’t connect. I have an upgraded WiFi unit as I work for the government and have to run several computer programs at a time without lag. Tech decided that the upgraded WiFi was probably the problem with connecting. I requested to return it. That was approved but it took weeks to credit it back so I had to make a payment to Bread for the 0% interest loan I did on it. Then found out that I got charged for shipping anyway. The customer service rep Karen wasn’t very pleasant to deal with. I’ve had the WiFi go out in a few of my cameras after a year of having them. Just very disappointing
They have excellent service when you…
They have excellent service when you need assistance. In general the product is great, however there are a few hiccups like getting live stream video to load with any speed (or at all sometimes) that keep me from giving it the full 5 stars.

Very good system .. very much like it’s integration with Apple HomeKit but I would like to see more progress with the integration of more third party HomeKit compatible devices.
The abode camera 2 continuously goes…
The abode camera 2 continuously goes offline. Rather than trust us as users and consumers of the product, you staff insisted we were doing something wrong when I requested a replacement camera. Finally they are sending a replacement. Also, when the camera goes offline, the only way for me to reactivate it is manually, so for the length of time I am away or not home there is no surveillance.
We are long term users and love Abode
We have been using Abode for home security and monitoring, leak detection, CO/Smoke detection, and multiple smart home functions (locks, lights, etc.) We love what Abode provides for us seamlessly, and perfectly customized to our needs. Abode connects easily through their mobile app, and we also access it through Alexa and Home Assistant. So versatile, customizable, and reliable. I can't say enough good things about Abode.
Very happy with the system not support
Very happy with the system. Not happy with the support. It is very difficult to get somebody even through email which I do not like.
The Best Customer Service.
Easy to install, easy to upgrade, easy to monitor, the best customer service. I have 69 of their devices in my home and I am very happy with all of them. Don't forget to install leak detectors everywhere in your home where there is a possibility of a leak. It could save you thousands in repairs.
Error-prone hardware
Error-prone hardware, forcing long troubleshooting efforts when (a) replacing motion camera batteries and (b) recalbrating doorbell. Ultimately successful but annoying and trust-eroding.
Installation was easy
Installation was easy and worked the first time. No problems with the operation since installation.
Good but has some issues
Install easy; works as advertised. Homekit integration works ok but has some issues, such as Abode arming not able to directly change Homekit devices.
Slim Strip Sensor Issue
This review is based on the recent experience with some of my Slim strip sensors. I want folks who are thinking of buying this product to be aware that the product does not work well on walls. It may work well on wood or metal. The documentation does not state this clearly. While trying to resolve this with support, I was told to use additional glue but they will not guarantee that it will work. This is a security product. How can they not guarantee that it will work or have a product that will not fail?
GoAbode Security System Failure
System appears to be dependent on active monitoring fees. As a standalone system, avoid it. Very poor instructions, keypads cannot complete all tasks, alerts DO NOT WORK, no remote notifications. In short, this vendor system should be avoided. These star ratings do not allow negative stars.
Simplicity is the key
Simplicity is the key. Plug and play with new devices makes it simply to use and more importantly ensure safety
