Gold's Gym Avis 38

This is specifically for the GG located in Goldsboro, NC.
I joined this particular because i ran Golds Gym before. I know their policies and what makes a gym run. I also know the bs that they give you when it comes to cancelling a membership.
When I go into a place to cancel a membership, i expect to be told everything that is necessary to cancel the membership. When i am not given all of the information, then when I verbally cancel my membership and is told that in January, it'll be my last payment withdrawn. I will take that person for their word.
Unfortunately, thet didn 't tell me the truth. They never told me that they were going tosend me an email to complete the cancellation, I would have completed it.
Unfortunately, once again when it comes to cancelling a membership, usually a cancellation request is given to the person right there so they can fill it out. Not emailed so it can easily be filtered into slam. Since I asked if I was done, were we good and the lady said yes.
What a surprise, when i saw the charges on my card. I went to Golds. When I asked about it, that's when i was asked when did I fill out the request. I was surprised because I didn't know what she was talking about. I looked at her and stated, what was she talking about. I came in and informed her that I was cancelling my membership, which she stated that they would still charge for january, which I was ok with since I missed the end date for the cancellation.
This is typical of Golds Gym. Play stupid and then ask for forgiveness.
The the "maintenance" fee that they charge is bs. Believe me, it is not for maintaining the facility, nor the equipment. That was created to get extra funds from the members. How do I know, it was created in the early 2000's. It was a way for charging members the extra dollars so we could or they (Golds) could get more money from the members.
What gets to me, when I cancelled and when I came back, the lady acted as if she didn't know that she misled me in the proper cancellation information. That sneaky and pretty disgusting. When some one tells you they will do you a favor, when they cancel the membership once they get the paperwork and they wll cancel it right away so they won't charge you for the following month, they are lying through their teeth.
That's ok. I will fight it with my bank as well as contacting the BBB. Just another mark against a crooked company trying to get free money from folks that work for a living.

I’ve been going to Douglasdale for four years now and have always had a great experience. I’ve tried other locations, but I always find myself coming back to Douglasdale.

The evening staff — Alex and Amid — as well as Merry on weekends, are always very helpful and welcoming. The gym is very clean, well maintained, and has lots of equipment available. There’s also plenty of parking, which makes visits even more convenient.
Don't stop what you are doing.

Absolutely atrocious experiences with Gold’s Gym. Horrendous customer service with blatant lies from them. Pool being worked on with no notice on their website. Their solution is to drive 20 minutes to their other location.

Outstanding gym, great facilities and great service.

Not a safe gym for real women. They allow men in the women's locker rooms.

Nothing says “great gym experience” like sharing the women’s locker room with biological men. Thanks, Gold’s Gym, for redefining privacy and comfort in such a "progressive" way. Exactly what every woman hopes for after a workout.

This gym shamefully puts women's lives at risk by pandering to a violent convicted domestic abuser, who repeatedly used the women's locker room and deliberately made women feel violated and threatened. This gym not only did nothing to rectify this shameful situation, it also discriminated against the victim.

I will never ever refer them or walk through their doors. This company is unethical and perverse. A company that can not protect women’s spaces in not a company I will ever refer or do business with. Shame on your company for making women fearful! I hope you go bankrupt

Gym that doesnt support women and our safe spaces is a negative star for me. Ladies take your business elsewhere where your privacy and dignity is respected. We don’t need men in lipstick and dresses in our vulnerable spaces. This is a gym with no backbone and could care less about their female patrons.

Awful. No integrity. No safe spaces for women. This facility allows biological fully intact males into women's locker rooms. An actual WOMAN was thrown out and had her membership revoked for voicing her concerns about a male gawking at her while she was naked in the locker room. AVOID this place!!!

I was looking for a gym and saw on social media that this gym allows men in women’s restrooms. Women want to feel safe in their gyms.

It is impossible to cancel, I went to the gym they day you can not process it personally, they gave me a link, which did not work cause it kept saying “under construction” so I called and they said it will take 30 days to cancel, and still I got charged annual fee that was within few days after I called and monthly fee, even tho I tried for couple of months to cancel!

The gym is supposed to open at 7am on weekends but they can't seem to get reliable people to open the facility. Again I was there at 7am and not only was the facility not open but after waiting 40 minutes no one arrived and we were all outside waiting for someone that never showed up. I left as others stayed to see what happens. This has been happening since February this year with staff being late. This a a newer gym with a lot of issues something I never encountered at planet fitness. Time for a change

Scammed me with unauthorized charges and then tried to charge me again and then yet again to cancel. Total run-around trying to get reasonable answers on anything and tried to pass the buck every time. Annoying, scammy experience and I never even set foot in their gym and they still trying to get away with this. This is for the Glendale, CA location.

I do not understand how the quality control of goldgym is so deegrated until especially in indonesia it became a scamming organisation selling memberships, and one week later they anounce the closedown of their one of their franchises. I lost in 2 year 400$ by scamming and they blame it on the staff. Maintainance is below stamdard that normally very good like i see in many other countries. Eventhough my lifetime favorite Gym, i hope that the under qualified, non competent managements who have only one goal, take as much money as possible will be investigated and the Gold Gym Gold standard is guaranteed worldwide. Gold Gym forever but not in indonesia.

Too many out-of-shape guys standing around doing more group chat, chuckle heading & hanging out than working out. Particularly with the groups of guys going station to station with an Emotional Support Bro or 3, so they can Bromance between Brotations. This is where the vast majority of the loud obnoxious distracting disruptive Excessive Noise that makes the place absolutely unbearable to work out in comes from. Always the mutants with the twiggy lil bird legs too. Sometimes they have buffed torsos because they only work their upper body up. Sometimes they have big protruding third trimester pregnancy pot bellies. Sometimes they're entire body is a bag of bones, but the loud mouths who make Golds terrible by droning on in a Hundred Yard Voice the entire time they're here always have twiggy lil bird legs.

GOLDS AUS is beyond a joke, you pay though their app and for what ever reason doest go through and the fee keeps going up due to the app failing. If you need to place your membership on hold just cancel it as their payment system will screw you over !!!

Impossible to contact their customer service. Do they even have one?
