We had a great time at hollinwell yesterday, always a friendly and professional set up.
I was informed of my prize winnings the same evening!
A great way to play someof the best courses in the country, and with a chance of winning some great prizes :-)

Fantasy golfing experience. Very professional and well run event. I can't wait to play in my next golf day....

Gota say very professionally run staff and procedures very impressive only gripe I have is why mizuno voucher for another competition .voucher for equipment maybe, and 2s comp £5 cash entry yet voucher for winning not what we want guys soz

Very professionally run events. Easy to log in at events. Golf Genius app easy to use but could be designed better.
Everybody is very helpful and tries to make your day go with a swing.
Which is why I keep coming back

Have played in 3 Golfpairs events this year. Amazing to play at courses you may not usually get on at and for a reasonable price given all the prizes on offer. Really well organised and fun events with a nice bunch of competitors roo. Will definitely be booking up again for 2022!

The actual golf days were fine.
There was a lot of fuss made about online scoring which we did however we had to wait 3 days for result confirmation and then when it eventually came it was all wrong. Between 2 pairs we had to query 3 results all of which were wrong. Please everyone check results as they clearly don't and don't understand count back....
We paid £10 cash each for birdie 2s only to get prize allocation as a voucher for another event- we don't want that and that was never explained on entry. Wonder where all that cash has gone-over 200 people in the field. If we ever use our vouchers certainly won't be entering that again.......

Going to play my second golf pairs 17/5 . My first experience with Mizuno golf pairs was at Hollins Hall and the set up was fantastic , with the live scoring and tee bed flags it made it feel very professional and I look forward to the same again next week

Played 2 events so far this year as a singleton, being paired on the day with partner.
Most enjoyable days out golfing, in a year where there has been much uncertainty and disruption in the golfing world.
The events are run very well and professionally, albeit a poor standard of course in one event they are generally good courses as played last year as well.

We recently participated in our first Mizuno pairs Competition at the Isle Of Purbeck & thoroughly enjoyed the day. The organisers and staff on the day were very friendly & made us feel welcome. The course wasn’t in the best condition but it’s the same for everyone I suppose. Would have liked to have seen some mizuno clubs etc to try on the day but obviously with covid I imagine that’s not possible. All & all Very much looking forward to the other 3 events we’ve booked in for & hopefully play a little better next time!

Good
- Get to play top courses at a reduced green fee
- social, get to meet and challenge against other golfers
- live leaderboard on app
- Well organized, someone at club house and starter box (both very welcoming and helpful)
- Catch up with Mizuno reps on the course, for a friendly chat/break from playing
- excellent format, where all can play and pick up when having a mare and still score as a pair.

Bad
- Only get a sleeve of balls as a gift (was hoping for a towel/tees/discount code at Mizuno website
- Quite a considerable gap between tee off times, could probably get more out sooner.
- Prize breakdown, it a little uneven, excellent top prize (3 nights in Spain etc) and then a bag for second place. :D
- There was no fitting / club demo event for both times we played - would be nice to understand the brand a bit better (never used Mizuno clubs).
- no half way stall with drinks/snacks

This was my first and last experience of playing the Mizuno Pairs event which took place at The Isle Of Purbeck golf and sight seeing course. We played a practice round on the Monday before the event and was shocked and dismayed at the state of the course.

The greens were hollow tined only a week or two before the event and would not present any kind of puttable surface in time. The fairways were undefinable as they have no grass so non-existent. The hollow core wastage is all around the greens where they have been dumped intefering with any kind of chip shot. The aprons are dug up by rabbits and what hasn't been dug up is grassless making it impossible to play any serious shot around the green. There are painted lines everywhere defining GUR. The fairways are so bald, hard and patchy with small lumps that it is dangerous to hit down on the ball, which you have to to make any kind of contact, for fear or damaging your wrists.

I tried to withdraw and get our money back and was told no in no uncertain terms along with the response from MGPT was shocking, "We have to reiterate that we ask clubs not to carry out maintenance before our events and this according to the club was an exception caused by covid. All we can recommend is enjoying a nice day out and appreciating the views. We would also recommend directing any complaints to the club directly as it is their responsibility to have the course in the condition promised when they put themselves forward to host an event of ours". Sorry but I thought it was a golf event not a ramblers association event.

We were told it was too late to get any refund and that they contacted the course and they had been told "We hollow tined the greens about a month ago. We will double cut and roll the greens for tomorrow's event. The greens are not perfect, but they will roll fine. We just had the European Junior event last Sunday which went well and many visitors since we opened. Most understand it is still mid-April and comments have been positive." We only have his word for that and the greens were not hollow cored a month ago as there was evidence that it had been bone recently, not to mention people I know who played in the last few weeks.

On arrival there was no mention of the course condition, no mention of the hollow coring and moving the ball out of the holes when putting. They did say you could move the ball within a club length in the bunker(????) and place within 6 inches on the fairway, which was totally useless and should have been the other way round as within 6 inches there was still no grass, in most cases you struggled to find grass within a club length. MGPT also stated that you were not allowed to hit a provisional ball but could take drops under penalty where you think the ball came to rest. Seriously I have never played in what I expected to be a professionally run event and been so surprised and disappointed at the experienced.

Even though promised there would be measures taken to improve the event, there was no sand put on the greens, there was no course inspection nor any apology for the state of the course. There was an air of silence and I can see the response now to this review "the winners shot 42 pts so it was clearly playable" but if you look on the internet there are many complaints about the course on the day, which is MGPT's responsibility.

Expecting the competitors, who by the way pay for the privileged, to go and complain to the General Manager of the venues about it's conditon instead of MGPT is shocking at best as it is MGPT that we payed our moneybto. This is a complete lack of ownership and extremely unprofessional but there appeared to be a fairly militant approach in their attitude towards the players. If there was an acknowledgement or some form of token gesture then maybe it would have felt that this wasn't just about taking the money from the players and not taking any responsibility for the situation. Many competitors made long journeys for hours or worse stayed overnight to play the event and I sympathise with them.

Even the starter on the tee was a member of The Isle Of Purbeck who, when asked about the placing on the fairway, said you will need to agree what is fairway as it is a natural course and not definable, greatest words ever.

I have copies of all the communication with MGPT in writing and pictures of the course plus names of countless others who were unhappy about the event but I have kept the names of the individuals anonymous who dealt with us off the review.

The best thing for us, and luckily too, was the guys we played with were great company and we got on brilliantly but I have to say the best view of this event was the entrance in the rear view mirror.

This was our first experience of the Mizuno pairs and we really enjoyed it. It was well organised and enjoyed the courses we played, 3 away and just the 1 at home but even with the away fixtures we managed to win the 4 and can’t wait for our day out next summer. Thought the competition was good value too.

This was my first year taking part in the Matchplay and my playing partner and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It does help when you win 4 in 4, but the people we played were great and we got to play four different courses (1 home and 3 away).
The people at Mizuno Golf Pairs Tour have been quick to answer any questions too, which is always helpful.
Only minor complaint was two of the three courses didn’t offer course courtesy (which is annoying when your home course offers it), but our playing partners paid half, which shows the quality of people taking part.
Overall, a great competition and we cannot wait to play at Royal St Georges in April!

Played 4 and won 4 qualifying rounds to win a free pair of entry tickets to 2021 events! Met some great people along the way, only problem was the fact that some opponents were bandits and was totally unfair but that’s not mizuno’s fault! Enjoyed it that much that we have just signed up for the winter match play!

Have played in 3 events in 2020 and really enjoyed them all. The team make everything easy for you from a simple sign up process, full info before the event and lots of staff on site to look after you and ensure you are enjoying your round! The prices are very competitive and provide a great chance to compete on some of the best golf courses in the UK. On top of this the staff are constantly asking players on how they can improve the events for the future. Will be signing up to more events in 2021!
