High interest rate which is to be expected from a payday loan company, but you have to pay $35 to receive the e-transfer. Other loan places don’t charge a fee to receive a high interest loan

Very frustrating company to deal with.

The process of trying to communicate with them during the initial loan application is tedious. Everything is done through a message system, I tried multiple times to call them and no one is ever available.

I asked about a renewal as I only had a small amount left on my loan, they said they would process a renewal application and I hear nothing. When I checked my online account that evening, it showed the renewal was cancelled. I didn't hear anything back until the next day that "underwriting" had declined in some generic email and I had to wait until my current loan was paid off despite me stating I understood I would have to repay my remaining balance if I did a renewal.

A short time later, I get an email that I was eligible for a renewal. I apply, and get declined with the same message about writing until my current loan was repaid. They clearly do offer renewals, and no tangible reason why I was declined as my payments were all on time and automatically withdrawn.

After my final payment processed, I had to message through their system again requesting a renewal. Waited around until the next afternoon and then get told I'm declined and have to wait 30 days to reapply. My final payment cleared just fine, so again no discernible reason why I was declined other than some generic email about my "financial health".

I get yet another email today about reloading, and again am told the same thing to reapply after 30 days.

I'm not upset about being declined, I'm upset about all the time wasting, the misleading emails THEY sent and not just getting a clear answer.

Awful company with poor communication.

I reached out to their live chat line and was speaking to a person on the chat line and they said that they couldn’t approve my loan but they had another lender with fast approval and this is ended up being a total scam
Yes, it was the Apple Card scam and yes, I got scammed for over $5000. They sent me to Northern loans in Toronto supposedly and very distressing that my bank account has been frozen and I now owe over $5000 to repay this debt.
I would not recommend this company at all
This is caused me undo hardship. My bank account’s been frozen for over 30 days. They won’t release my funds until their fraud department goes through all this and the RCMP are involved. The Vancouver police are involved and this is a total scam. Stay away. Stay away stay away stay away stay away.

They approved me a week ago. Because I got a flu and didn’t respond in time they cancelled it. Fine. But I reapplied and they denied me! Not recommended!!!!

I haven’t even been approved yet for nothing, and this company is making me so angry. 😠 I have tried to reach out plenty of times and no response still always get the same BS automated email that my loan status is still being reviewed !! Like really it takes two days to approve a loan. You can’t be that high in volume of customers there’s no way I have had payday loans before and currently still use them as it is a great quick way to have money when needed and like companies like this ruin it for good quality companies makes people sceptical on believing and wanting to keep the trust in other loan companies. These companies need to be shut down go loans and electoloan needs to go.

Still reporting on my credit a loan that has been paid off as unpaid i have reached out to them on there chat and asked for it to be fixed still reporting as unpaid ... do not use them

Shady place over charges.not worth it they will bleed you dry. I git a loan for 250 got charged 133 for 3 months. Dont use them ever.

They are not answering their phone calls and they keep sending conflicting messages.

Look at all those hidden charges. I never ask for express deposit .

I had to take an emergency loan to avoid further charges, and now they are charging me an extra 165 they're going to pocket for a 200 payday loan. That is 82.5% interest.

Be cautious! This company was going to charge me $175 to borrow $250. I questioned this rate of interest as this seemed extremely high and the max payday lenders can charge is $14 per hundred. No one responded to the emails I sent questioning their fee and in turn I never went ahead with this application. Read everything before signing!

They'll send you a 'secure' form to input your SIN, and then email it around in plain text

They do the same with your ID, with a fake encryption process displayed on screen.

This company charges well beyond the criminal usury limit between interest and fees. As of Jan 1, 2025 the criminal rate is 35% and its clearly stated it doesn't matter who the fees or interest get paid to.
Will be contacting the RCMP about this company.

GoLoans has received caution alerts from customers and review companies . my experience with them (2025) has been as many customers have given in canada (2025). i have just received an email from
onyx-zip (email contact ) that my application was cancelled after very long wait because i never answered their emails or sent in their requests. not true..
be careful with GoLoan. do not recommend. improvement needed there.

I was charging inssuance fee of $175 for a $250.
I later found out that it should be no more than $20 for the loan as this is the legal amount.

You can’t ever get a hold of these people, they keep those phones off so it goes to voicemail and don’t answer the phone a loan application that should have taken 5 hours as I’m a repeat client took over 48, no answers from the team at all even after escalation… they will harass you over and over to renew and as soon as you go to take thier sweet time with no regard for anyone else’s, they charge too much, harass you even after you’ve asked them multiple to times to stop. Don’t bother trying to get a hold of these people cause you never will and no one ever calls back their customer service is non existent you’d be better off dealing with ai

They did not approve a payday loan for 300 but approved me to get a smart phone or laptop starting a 9.95 weekly. That does not even make sense when I'm looking to borrow money for groceries not expensive Tech I can't afford.

They literally rob ppl. I was approved for $250 loan. Was expected to pay $437 back. That’s insane. There are better options out there

Aside from the substantial amount of money that you will need to pay if they charge you with their "guarantor fees" for a 200$ loan you will pay about 150 on top of that for these fees. I have had 1 previous loan out of desperation with them and had paid in full including the extra fees and interest. They are sharks, I am actually going into more debt since getting my second loan with them, technically I have paid the loan and interest but not the ridiculous guarantor fees. I missed a payment and had let them know before it was to go through as to why. I am now just days later receiving threating emails and text messages. exact words " Pay now or your references and employer will be contacted, and your account will be flagged with financial institutions" that's just one of them. In the meantime I have already paid them an additional 135$ on top of the guarantor fees as I needed to make a payment plan. I am really just shocked at these "sharks" once this loan is paid I will never ever be associated with them again.

OK. May i ask why they are asking for a copy of my T4 ? This is a small loan of 300 im asking for. I've gotten other loans like this in my life time and was never asked to send a t4. BIG red flag. Its not like im applying for a mortgage. Beware of this company. They are a scam. . I would give them 0 stars.
