We started Goodnature for good reason: to see endangered wildlife in New Zealand and around the world flourish again. Success on the 1st day!
I received my unit yesterday. I wasn't expecting much as I hadn't seen a lot of activity on the Rodent Detector cards but wanted to do my bit. I came out this morning to find a dead rat in the unit. I'm absolutely rapt now to have such immediate success. The unit is very well made and thought out with everything you need for mounting at hand. I bought the trap with the chirp kit as I love gadgets and also the stand so it could be moved around easily. I'll probably buy a 2nd unit soon or maybe even win one haha.

Save your money !!!
I have followed all the instructions about where to place the trap and have heeded the advice that Rats are wary eaters but this thing just does not work !!!
I placed a $2.00 spring trap next to the a24 and have been catching rats ,same location same bait just far more effective

Hi Bill, there could be a few different reasons that are stopping the rats from going into the trap and it would be helpful for us to understand a bit more about your situation so that we can provide some tips to help you!I'd be happy to give you some tips or have a deeper discussion with you if you would like to let me know your email address in the separate email I sent you!
In regards to the snap traps, the design of the two traps, A24 and snap trap, are obviously quite different and require different interactions. The A24 is designed to humanely kill target species, not kill non-targets and reset itself. In order for it to do this, the A24 requires more interaction from the rodents than a snap trap requires (a higher trigger threshold). Having the snap traps positioned right next the A24s, it is likely the rodents will be enticed into the snap trap before they have the chance to interact with the A24. - Thomas
