My main reason for getting this software is so I can see and add lap times to my motocross videos. By reviewing them I can tell which laps are my best ones and which lines are best on the track for me. I also like being able to see my speed and the track map. I have barely scratched the surface of all the things this software can do. I have not found a better third party program and with a little practice it is very easy to use.
This program can do Anything
This program can do Anything, my riding is data intensive and do a number of integrations including CSV files and data from the action cameras and I create Rad videos because of this program
Excellent software, second to none
Excellent software, extremely user friendly, very versatile. I have worked with many programs for overlay but none beats Telemetry Overlay, not even close. The software offers something for every imaginable type of overlay needed. Well done kudos to the developer.
Great for use with GoPros on our experimental aircraft
We are developing and flying an experimental aircraft "look-alike" of an early Wright Brothers model. We use Telemetry Overlay with our GoPro videos (especially UTC time so we can correlate with our Dynon data). It's been very straightforward to use. Note: we use Hero 10 blacks, but not all GoPro models capture GPS data, so best to check first.
A great tool for my drone videos 😊👍
Telemetry Overlay: Great Capabilities, Easy To Use, Continually Updated
Starting with a GoPro Hero4 and an iPhone 6 (I think it was), I used products from HP Tuners -- Track Addict and Race Render -- for about five years, to overlay telemetry data to videos. Not long after Telemetry Overlay became available, I switched to that product, and never looked back.
I also moved on to a Hero7 (to get GoPro's GPS chip, and eliminate use of my phone), and then a Hero9 (to get lean-angle and other improvements), and then a Hero11 (to get even more improvements, such as better satellite locking).
The HP Tuner products were difficult to use, and did not have some convenient features (such as properly adjusting all telemetry when videos were trimmed). Additionally, that company seemed to become more focused on selling hardware products than updating its software.
(I also experimented with Dashlane and GoPro's own Quik, but those products were sorely lacking features.)
By contrast, Telemetry Overlay -- which I've been using and keeping updated for a little over four years now -- is easy to use, has loads of features and adjustability, and is continually updated.
All those features work extremely well together, e.g., when you adjust some aspect of your project (such as start and end points of the video to be generated), corresponding changes are automatically made to other aspects. And the ease of changing gauges, for instance, with drag-and-drop functionality and sliders for changing sizes, is so much easier than the design windows that I was forced to use in that other software.
On top of that, the developer is extremely responsive to my questions, suggestions, and a few (very rare) bug reports. And he is remarkably quick to update the program to adapt to new features that GoPro and other devices incorporate in their latest hardware releases.
The developer also periodically releases YouTube videos that clearly show you all the capabilities of Telemetry Overlay, while other of his videos compare the GPS chips in some popular action cameras, and so forth. That is, he keeps current with the products out there, and does an excellent job of sharing this knowledge.
(For what it's worth, I also purchased Telemetry Extractor, from the same developer, a little over three years ago. This is a more limited-use product than Telemetry Overlay, but the developer's responsiveness to questions and so forth reflects the same commitment to its users. I use Telemetry Extractor with my GoPro files to plot my path of travel after a day's motorcycle ride, to see where I've been, how far I've traveled, and how long that took. If anyone's interested, I produced a short video -- search for "wspollack Route Map Creation With Telemetry Extractor" -- to show how to accomplish that, using Telemetry Extractor and Google Maps. You can also extract CSV files of all the lean-angle, speed, and other telemetry points contained in those files, as well as create some additional types of output files.)
Back to Telemetry Overlay. I'm sure I'm forgetting many aspects of the program that I use and enjoy. The bottom line remains the same, however: this is one fine piece of software, it keeps pace with the hardware in the marketplace, and the developer couldn't be more accommodating to its users.
I think that covers the topic.
Awesome tool
Awesome tool, very fast, practical and easy to use super recommended
Truly excellent
This is truly excellent and, I believe, unique software for overlaying telemetry information on videos.
It is easy to use, has lots of options to customise the overlay and each update makes it better and better.
I think that the software is great value and the developer has always been very helpful and responsive.
I use it to overlay telemetry information from our aircraft's Garmin G500 TXi onto our GoPro videos and the facility to export a transparent video works particularly well for me: we have several cameras running, two of which are the 360° GoPro Max so, to save on export time and drive space, I usually export a single transparent video, re-align the overlay with the GoPro videos in Final Cut Pro and then compound the clips. If you are not using a 360° camera then just export a finished video with the telemetry overlay and edit from there.
Always improving
Accessing my 'patterns' is so much easier with the new release. Terrific effort.
They do what they say that they will do…
They do what they say that they will do and even more.
Their support team is beyond any expectation and their solutions are just to the point.
The software itself, I do have the full version, is a piece of ART as it concerns Telemetry Overlays for Videos.

Just perfect. Thank you!
Telemetry Overlay is hands down one of the best tools I’ve ever used for telemetry. It’s packed with features that pretty much cover anything you could think of, yet it’s still incredibly easy to use.
Setting it up is straightforward, and the interface feels intuitive, even if you’re not super tech-savvy. What really stands out is how flexible it is—you can customize everything to fit exactly what you need. Whether you’re into motorsports, gaming, or something completely different, this software adapts perfectly.
The way it integrates real-time data and lets you create overlays is just spot-on. I’ve been really impressed by how well it works and how simple it makes what could otherwise be a pretty complex process. If you’re looking for a powerful, user-friendly telemetry tool, this one’s definitely worth it.

This is an excellent program. Very easy to use. Would highly recommend.

Just received a massive update of the tool. Despite the price this is still most accesible tool of this kind for getting my hobby racing footage compiled without spending a lot of time on the process. Also i had some struggles in the past with telemetry extractor but the founder (and as far as I know he is the main software engineer of this tool) replied really quick and covered all my issues, being a software engineer myself I respect the quality of such support.
Needs ability to rearrange clips
Amazing tool but the ability to rearrange multiple video files is frustrating. It doesn't load my GoPro files in the correct order they were take and there is no way to rearrange them.
I would rate higher but this feature is pretty crucial to me as I cannot sync the telemetry accurately.
