2026 Grand Design Lineage F series. POS!

Just purchased a 2026 Grand Design Lineage F series and it is plagued with problems. I called and spoke to someone at their company who clearly could care less. The dealership that I purchased it from is just as bad. I really wish I could get my money back and get out of this mess. I spent over $260k for something that I've had for over a month and still CANT use!

Great Parts / Customer Service

I would like to share my experience working with their Retail Parts Specialist. This is the second RV have owned and the first one was Forest River. I had so many issues getting email or voice mail support from them on multiple occasions. In contrast Grand Design Owners Portal is easy to use and I had a return call back within 24 hours. my parts specialist was awesome. I loved how she was able to quickly pull up my RV in her system and was able to order the parts I needed. Parts arrived fed X within 2 days. I received multiple follow up email communication from her and it was all well written and supportive. Her support was very much appreciated and she is clearly a Professional Representative. In addition I have found the Owners Portal and parts lists to be very easy to use. I have owned my reflection for 2 years and have found the workmanship to be superior to my last RV from another National Vendor. While I hope to have my Reflection a long time there is no doubt that my next RV will be from Grand Design.

My $147,000. mistake

I was a happy grand design reflection owner for 9 years, I traded it in on a new 2023 solitude and am extremely unhappy with their quality now. Lippert has filled them with sub par furrion products. At 6 months I had to replace the tankless water heater, I have been without a fridge for 2 months(No one wants to even mess with them) now lippert is holding up the rv repair shop with demands before sending out parts. Also having problems with the tank valves which never happened with my reflection in 9 years. I will never buy another grand design, with this kind of prioblems I would buy a $50,000. RV instead of a $147,000. lemon!

Beware, Grand Design's Flawed Lippert Awning

Disappointed with Awning Quality on My Grand Design RV
I want to warn potential buyers about the awning Grand Design installs – the Solera 3000 by Lippert. It does not allow water to run off properly. Rain collects and pools until the weight damages or destroys the awning. When I reached out to Grand Design, I was told the awning is not designed for rain at all, only for shade.
For anyone shopping: factor in the cost of replacing the awning right away or prepare for frustration. Everything else on the RV may be fine, but the awning is a weak point, and Grand Design does not stand behind it.

This isn’t just my problem—it’s a widespread design issue!

This isn’t just my problem—it’s a widespread design flaw that’s being ignored. If Grand Design truly believed in their repairs, they’d offer a longer warranty to back them up. For a unit costing around $130k, the fix should be permanent—or the customer should get a replacement or their money back. I also investigated trading this for a new one. They only gave me $49.000 for my 3 year old RV…that alone says a lot!

Unless this is made right, I will be very vocal about my experience. Current and future customers deserve to know exactly what they’re getting into. If Grand Design continues treating people this way, they won’t be around much longer. I would run from this brand and these models.

To make matters worse I have been letting people know on their FaceBook sales posts what has happened to myself and others. They have blocked me now…they do not want the truth be known to customers current and future. Very sad!

I’ve added pictures for anyone who wants to see the reality for themselves

We bought a grand design travel trailer…

We bought a grand design travel trailer in 2022 and have had nothing but issues since then. It was BRAND NEW and has just fallen apart. First it started with the tip out coming detached from the trailer which caused bolts to come to through the floor and the fridge to fall out. We got it "repaired" and then the fridge came completely out again. The table has broken 2 times, the awning broke, the bathroom fan has issues and our water pump stopped working. It has been a nightmare and a huge money pit. Not to mention it's next to impossible to get in contact with anyone. I will be seeking legal action.

bought a new 2020 fifth wheel RV

bought a new 2020 fifth wheel RV. it only got used a few times the 1st year. the following year we went full-time. It developed a crack in the sidewall. Upon notifying Grand Design they responded I must have hit something and need to contact my insurance. The crack continued to grow over the next year along with the closet splitting open, the main floor sloped by the kitchen slide, multiple bent gussets, tried to get an appointment for an inspection Dealer denied my appointment when I showed up. I paid $5K to an independent show to make sure it was safe to tow. Grand Designed finally agreed to repair the crack and other issues. Had it over 3 weeks, had to spend it in a hotel. Got it back everything looked good. Not 500 miles later the crack returned. They agreed to fix it again another 3 weeks and hotel. The crack has not come back but, now the entire bottom of the wall is moving when operating the bedroom slide. After several emails they have stopped responding to my emails. This is now a known serious safety issue concerning the structural integrity of the frame .
Complete waste of time trying to deal with a company that is supposed to be customer freindly

Grand Design is the worst RV I have…

Grand Design is the worst RV I have ever owned, bought a 2022 GD Transcend with many problems, I thought the bubbles in the roof membrane was the worst until i found the floor was getting real soft, after taking the under panels off I found they used 1/2 inch OSB sheathing that got wet and rotted to a point you could peel it away with your hand. You would think 3/4 inch plywood would have been used on floor not 1/2 inch OSB, what junk.

FOURTH AC replacement in TWO years

In the process of having our FOURTH GE air conditioning unit replaced in less than two years. FOUR! And we are not full timers. New Grand Design camper, but we are now scared to plan a trip in the summer just because you can't count on the GE AC working. How stupid is that.

I will never buy another RV with a GE air conditioning unit. We like to camp, not go to the shop for repairs.

DO NOT buy this product or anything with the GE brand on it.

Sad. GE used to be a reliable name.

They call this Customer Service??

This is my second GD RV and first fifth wheel. We are long time campers and I have never had a bad experience when dealing with the mfg’s until now.
Our 2023 GD 260RD is inverter prepped so I installed a 2000W Renogy inverter w/auto internal transfer switch. Unless it’s powered up 100% of the time the bathroom gfi will stay energized. Turn the inverter off the gfi trips.

Called GD CS and they would not give me any info or allow me to ask a single question with a Tech. I was told to reach out to a dealer so I called Whitehorse RV in NJ where I bought the RV. The man answering the phone was beyond unprofessional, spoke in one word responses and said he could not help me or could anyone else as no one was available. I asked could he have someone at least call me back to answer one question and he simply responded there was no!!

A Tech named Kevin who did speak with me after I called back to complain about the first man I spoke with. Kevin attempted to help resolve the issue but was unsuccessful. But he listened and at least tried, that’s all I wanted someone to do.

I hope GD reads this because your policy contributed to the ridiculous customer service issue. You couldn’t answer one question? When installing an inverter is it required to keep it powered up 100% of the time or is there a real problem? That question doesn’t violate your liability rule. Why can’t we get a wiring diagram of the model RV we have? What’s wrong with having a Hold Harmless Agreement?

Whitehorse RV — you need to seriously retrain some of your staff in dealing with customers who have helped keep your doors open.

Not a good experience

Our experience was not good. We bought a 2021 grand design solitude fifth wheel and we’ve had nothing but trouble with it. First time we ever wanted to use the air conditioner it didn’t work. They did replace that under warranty and that the only thing they did replace. We had to fix the outside seam close to the hitch. We’ve had so many water leaks that we can’t even count. Leaks at the outside water hose, hot water tank, shower tub drain, the satellite on the roof causing it to leak inside. We are still working on the leaks to this day. The awning was so loose that it was ready to fall off. We thought this was supposed to be a good product but we found out differently.

Frame Cracks, Floor Gaps, Excessive Sway

They'll make you as the consumer, jump through hoops to fix the problems with their units. Calling any idea they have "suggestions" so they can weasel out of coverage of anything done to your unit per their "suggestions"

Even if you show them proof of the issues (video, written documentation, multiple witnesses, etc.) and show that the parts they've installed are out of specification - they'll assume no liability leaving you with the bills and an unsafe expensive camper because they choose not to fix it. They'll try to bully you into submission when you stand up to them as well, I've found and anytime they have information that hurts their case further they will call you rather than continue in email correspondence so they can try to lose the paper trails. They'll also tell you that people with 30+ years' experience don't supersede their techs who claim nothing is wrong when they've proven time and time again their products are failing. They'll also blame you - your experience, tow vehicles, hitch(es), everything they can to push blame from their units.

In my case the trailers axles were installed 5" out of spec in terms of front to rear positioning, and also have a 1/2" difference between a front & rear hanger diagonally causing sway, bounce, tracking issues, movement etc. in the trailer. I've learned since that I'm not the only owner experiencing this issue and not many have found solutions that work. Those who have, I've tried with no difference made in my particular unit.

Now I'm told it's my responsibility to pay a 3rd party out of pocket to prove (again) that there's still an issue. Then, once I do; it must be reviewed by their team before they deem it something they need to fix under their "warranty".

I have since found cracks in the trailers frame and gaps / drops throughout the flooring inside.
I have filed a report with the NHTSA at this time providing every detail, email, invoice, photo, video proof, and written statement.

Design flaw in awning

Design flaw in awning. First time extended all was good. Had the back door opened and latched. When retracting it caught the back door and bent the rear support bracket beyond repair.
Was told by grand design they have no responsibility for it!!

A special shout-out to Owen Bailey who assisted us. He worked with us throughout the process and corrected the issues completely.

We purchased a 2022 Grand Design…

We purchased a 2022 Grand Design Transcend Explor travel trailer in Feb. 2022. The travel trailer was used a few times for local trips to campgrounds. The first time we used it, the black plastic strips inside the trailer on the wall board came off. My husband glued them back on and they have been fine since. The last trip we took was to a local park for three days. The canopy fell down on one side of the trailer. The weather was perfect, no rain, no wind, no precipitation of any kind, so the weather cannot be blamed. During our stay we kept the canopy open. After the second night camping, we noticed the canopy had fallen down further on one side. The frame looked like it was bent to me. We saw the canopy had pulled away from the roller. We couldn’t drive home with it hanging so my husband was able to roll it up and used some large plastic tie wraps to hold it until we could get it back home. I found there were recalls for the same problem we had and I called Grand Design and told them what happened but I was told I was out of warrenty and our VIN was not on their list of recalls. I told them there were no accidents, bad weather or anything that caused this to happen and I felt it was a manufacturer's defect. They told me to call Solera the company that makes the canopies. I called and they did not want to take the responsibility and told me to call Grand Design. I called more than once and was told this is not a manufacturer's defect and is not a recall. I was being bounced around by both companies and no one wanted to take the responsibility for the defective canopy. We have not used the camper since that time for camping. We did tow it back to the place where we purchased the camper and they were absolutely no help. They kept the trailer for a month. I told them I was there for the canopy issue but they took it upon themselves to do a free 12 point inspection. One of the issues found was a problem with the axels and my husband was concerned about driving home with that particular problem so we agreed to have that problem attended to. They told us the canopy was not a manufacturer's defect or a recall issue and the canopy has not been attended to at this time.

Pray your unit is defect free because there is no warranty support.

I bought the camper (5th wheel Solitude) out of state (750 miles away) because no dealer near me had what I wanted. My first week out camping I saw the awning peeling away where it attaches to the camper. The nearest dealer to me wouldn't repair it under warranty because I didn't buy it from them. The closest dealer that would do the warranty work was 125 miles away. I left it at their shop for 7 weeks and they were not able to secure a new awning because the part was back ordered. I spend the winters in Florida and had to leave to beat the weather so now I have to find a dealer willing to do the warranty work because I didn't buy it from them and start the process all over again. Grand Design customer service was NO help in getting this resolved. It is all up to me to get this issue fixed. So now I'm sitting in the Florida sun with a new '23 model Grand Design Solitude without an awning. My advice is DO NOT buy a Grand Design RV. This is my 3rd and last Grand Design RV.
