Disappointing Stay Due to Hygiene Issues and Poor Complaint Handling
I stayed for 3 nights at Glan Neigr through Guestz / Residential Estates Investments Ltd and unfortunately my experience was very disappointing.
It is important to note that there are multiple companies operating accommodation within this building, so this review relates specifically to the company named above.
The room itself was modern, comfortable, and well laid out, and my friend staying in another room within the building had no issues, which makes my own experience even more frustrating.
Before arrival, I was not sent the access codes needed to enter the accommodation and had to contact the company myself to request them. This caused unnecessary stress and delay at check-in.
Once inside, I found several cleanliness and hygiene issues. There were ants on the kitchen surfaces, visible dirt and dust around and under the bed, and most concerning of all, the bathroom toilet had clearly been used and left unflushed with urine and tissue still inside.
The ant problem worsened during the stay, to the point where I woke up to a large number of ants in the room. I had to purchase cleaning products myself and clean the kitchen and bathroom in order to feel comfortable remaining there.
There was also an attempted second payment taken from my account despite the stay already being fully paid for, which caused additional concern.
I reported the issues immediately and provided photo and video evidence. However, no one attended during my stay to assess or rectify the problems. When I raised the cleanliness concerns, I was informed that housekeeping had confirmed the room had been cleaned and checked prior to arrival. Given the condition I found on entering the room, this response left me feeling that my concerns were being questioned rather than properly acknowledged.
I also repeatedly requested management contact but did not receive a timely response during the stay.
Following a lengthy complaints process involving multiple emails, compensation was eventually offered and accepted in order to bring the matter to a close. However, this did not change the fact that the issues significantly impacted what was supposed to be an enjoyable weekend break.
While the accommodation itself has potential in terms of layout and comfort, the cleanliness issues, ant infestation, payment concerns, and complaint handling left me very disappointed overall.
Based on my experience, I would not choose to stay with this company again.
