Habitat for Humanity Avis 

Habitat for Humanity I was referred by a owner who own a home with the agency and daughter too. We are veterans Coast Guard & Air Force; we did ALL the paperwork and came too all the meeting. They helped pay off two bills but when it came to helping us get into the program. They PLAYED by having us get documents, we BOTH work full time and bank statements needed to be updated. Asked for more time, yes but deleted us from the program. First its for CMS workers/17 years and then for veterans. Which we are both veterans STILL nothing. They are a joke, ONLY who are homeless or on welfare. Not the HARD-working people like us.

They just flat out lie and frankly suck. They are liars and trust me...there will be MANY unsuspected financial major surprises. After 3 years of living here..all of a sudden we are notified that we now have to pay HOA dues...which are far above the price of my supposedly affordable mortgage. And OMG... over paying now 24 years of the house payment and the BULLSHIT HOA dues that have ignored me year after year and allowed starling birds to make HUGE nests in my home...which is CLEARLY labeled as THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO TAKE CARE OF AND REMOVE. I have now...because I apparently pissed off our pathetic HOA elected members...that becuse they did not even look at or even try to remove the nest...and that these nasty birds carry whats called biting mites or what else is. Called SCABIES. I could not get the worthless pieces of crap to even....never mind...I'm gonna call the local news media...I'm done with this shit

Went into shop with elderly mother suddenly needing bathroom . Lady told me there are lots of signs saying no public bathroom available . Maybe instead help by finding out where nearest one is and guiding people in that direction . Or signs suggesting where to go ( which is usually done in other places nicely ) .

Specific to donating a car to Habitat for Humanity - While the web portion was simple, the rest has been very challenging. Many hand-offs between the remarketing company who handles this for HfH and Pull-A-Part who is the buyer and their dispatch. I'm at day 6 and the car's not been picked up yet and each phone call results in several disjointed hand-offs and - so far - no resulution. Disappointing. All of my other interaction with the charity, including working on builds, has been exceptional.

Gayle escorted me personally through the Freehold store explaining each area of home items available to me and how donations are received. Gayle was very courteous and gave factual information about Habitat. I was invited to return to the store to earn cash points. She knows the proper use of equipment and handles the front check out desk with confidence and offers a great smile to customers. I will be returning to shop again.

Steal money from customers. Paid for coffee pot. Gary grabbed from me, when I wanted to return it. No receipt ok, but give me my purchase back, and he never did, thief. Terrible dynamics between employees. Called the manager in Wilkes, and he never returned my call, NOT A CHRISTIAN ORGANIZATION.

I can't recommend this organization well enough.
We're downsizing and we had to donate a lot of furniture and house goodies.
After talking to Jacob on the phone and couple emails in between, we scheduled the pick up for the week after.
Jeff and Lawrence - truck 5 were absolutely amazing!
Lots of very heavy stuff. They kept working with a smile. They were very polite and super nice. Fast too!
They called me before arrive at the property and they were here on time.

Provided pictures of furniture to restore, Leather Loveseat, Leather Chair, and Chest. Two men in a moving truck showed up. The house is on a slope. They complained that it was on a slope and they weren't movers. LOL Such a joke.

I called to have some furniture picked up that has been in storage for about 6 years since my mom died. I found the one who answered the phone to b quite rudely short w me. Im donating not buying. She says she can schedule me for June and the driver's can turn down furniture for tears ,dod scratches, cat whatever. I said no pets have ever been on the furniture. Well it could smell moldy and they can refuse it when they get there. I said cancel then, I need someone who can take the furniture. Very short w me n rude in a condescending way. Thank you Habit. I won't give u anything Or go in your store in Salisbury, Md.

I was told that they wanted my old refrigerator. After I loaded it on my truck and drove 25 miles I was told they did not want it anymore.

We would give 10 stars if possible!!!
William and Henry delivered and installed feet for a lady who couldn’t do it for herself!!! They truly went above and beyond all of our expectations!!

I have lived in my house 17 years just found out how bad the attic was built the porch ceiling is open in the attic there is no flooring put down between the porch ceiling it is all vinyl the air that is flowing up there. I have dripping from condensation because it froze up there there is no vapor barrier underneath the insulation. I trusted them I never looked. I had a new roof put on 3 years back and no one mentioned any of this. That company will never be used by me. In the last 17 yrs we have had to fix things in the first 5 yrs that should have been done right not the crappy job that was done. I am going to have an expense that I can’t afford to have. I am broke

We had been donating to Habitat for several years. When our credit card (which they pulled from every month)
was flagged for Fraud, we had to get a new card & number.
I have been trying....FOR OVER ONE YEAR...to get someone to apply our new
card number, so we can continue donating. NO ONE....after NUMEROUS TRIES TO SEVERAL NUMBERS..... can help us OR EVEN TRANSFER US TO SOMEONE WHO CAN DO THIS !!!!!!

I GUESS THEY DO NOT WANT OUR MONEY !!!! 😟☹️

Wrote to Habitat for Humanity, they asked for pictures of what doors needed widening for my wheelchair and never heard from them again. Fake charity. Will report to BBB.

ReStore Habitat for Humanity’s pricing and approach have become a joke. They price donated, often used or damaged goods based on retail prices, adding a “discount” that’s still absurd. They didn’t pay for the products, yet mark them up like they’re new. They refuse to negotiate on prices, which is ridiculous when compared to secondary marketplaces like Facebook Marketplace, where people are open to deals. Customers go to ReStore expecting a reasonable price for used items, but now it’s just a waste of time. It’s frustrating and disappointing to see what was once a place for deals turn into a profit-driven, inflated business.

I use to be able to walk the three miles to the closest habitat for humanity restore to me and shop. Now it is closed permanently. Now the closest one to me is twenty miles away. No bus line there and back. How do you expect people who don't have transportation to shop? Open up the restore that's available to walkers

They were unfriendly and unhelpful when I tried to donate good-conditioned furniture. I won't go back or donate to them.

WINS on the other hand is friendly and helpful.

This company is disgusting!! I scheduled a pickup and the driver noticed 'minor scratches' on a leather sofa. I paid over $ 1000 for this newer sofa with a USB and electric, reclining chairs. I suggested a certain product to rub it out and said they only want "new" products. Is this a non-profit!?!? Sounds like a scam and only want FREE products for their profit.

For 1200 a month Habitat will SELL you a studio apartment in 58 unit building in Seattle...but only if you make $30 an hour because they charge 35% of your income and add monthly fees. Note: anyone trying to claim to help the impoverished should never charge more than the federal guideline of 30% or they force risk on the mortgage holder to go into default.

They have become the payday lender of affordable housing. I will NEVER recommend them. Ever. Shame on you Habitat for becoming financial predators!

I've been visiting the habitat in slo about 3 times a month for about 2years now, I always find incredible deals on hardware &all sorts of items that save me hundreds of dollars . compared to the big box stores there a blessing.
