Family owned, well known and indeed recognised for supplying touring caravans throughout Western and Central Scotland, Halleys Burnhouse Caravans come to being as a company in 1948. The business was started by one of our current director's grandfathers after purchasing three caravans, one of which he decided to retail. Now over 70 years later, the business is located in the pleasant North Ayrshire countryside and the small village of Burnhouse, where we have been established since 1985. Central between Ayr and Glasgow, a thirty minutes drive either way, Burnhouse is a great choice when thinking about your next caravan, service or accessory. Our current team at Burnhouse have a wealth of knowledge regarding all aspects of the touring caravan industry, its associated products and are ready to answer any enquiries you may have or advise you on any potential purchase, be it a brand new tourer or which kind of toilet chemicals to use once you've bought one.

Faulty products

I made a cash purchase on a milenco hitch lock in Nov 2023 and 3 months later the locking barrel fell apart when taking it off. I have since lost my receipt and as a result received no assistance from halleys buyers beware. This is despite verifiable evidence my caravan was housed a mile long the road at lugtonridge. I understand this is my own fault but they will loose my business going forward. Very disappointing

Thank you for your review, we always appreciate feedback even if it is in the form of a 1* review, which we're sorry you felt the need to write.

I believe you spoke to our admin colleague regarding your issue with the hitch lock and she relayed that without a proof of purchase, we cannot take back a faulty item. If payment had been made via a credit/debit card, a bank/card statement could of course been utilised to assist with proof of purchase however a cash payment cannot be traced in this way.

When my colleague spoke to you, she did offer to pass on Milenco's contact details to see if there was anything they could do to assist you however I believe the conversation was halted at that point.

We pride ourselves on customer service as shown by the multitude of positive reviews and we did offer to help to the best of our abilities given the circumstances however this was declined and as mentioned, we're sorry to see you felt the need to leave a 1* review for us following guidelines the vast majority of retailers follow.

Had a couple of small warranty issues with our caravan and yet again the team at Halleys went above and beyond to ensure the repairs were done. Terrific service as always.

Recommended

We have used Halleys on a number of occasions to buy caravan supplies and caravans too. In fact all our recent vans have come from them. They will do you an honest deal, they prepare their caravans to a high standard and if things aren’t just right then they will fix that. I trust them and I would recommend them.

An asset to Ayrshire

Thought id share my last experience with this FANTASTIC asset of a company local to me.

went in looking for an adapter for a 3 way fridge that i had bought elsewhere, normally shops wouldn't care to help unless you bought from them but not these guys, these guys treat you as if you had bought from them.

Brilliant service, helped point me in the direction of part needed after coming out to car and inspecting fridge even though they are snowed under atm.

1st review they have recieved and im glad its a glowing one from me 😁
