TOP CLASS DINING AND SERVICE
My wife and I have dined here happily with friends many times. Our party of two ladies and two gents have never found anything to complain of and our usual order is two 'small plate' carveries and two scampi, drinks and a single pud came to a total or around £85.
That says it all really but, as usual in my reviews, I give more information below which I hope is helpful.
This is their first review on Trustpilot but the other popular review platform has a score of 4.5* from more than 1,500 reviewers. Impressive. Regarding these other reviewers, to be perfectly fair inevitably not everything was found to be perfect but it is a busy business.
BOOKING
Back to my experience. It was easy enough to book online and Matt came back the following day with confirmation but bookings are taken at short notice on 01404 41760. Best to ring first. There may not be a table available if you are hoping for an early dining time. (See next paragraph). If you are coming by bus there are adjacent stops on the A365 Honiton - Sidmouth.
TIMING
This time we dined at 1930 which, being later than the most popular earlier times, gave us an excellent table, near an open window with a gentle breeze. Service was immediate and the gents were called to the carvery when the scampis were ready to be served. By the way the ladies preferred salad to peas and that was happily changed. That's good service.
PARKING
Easy, ample car parks front and rear.
DISABLED ACCESS AND PARKING
Full disabled access throughout. Blue badge bays front and rear.
WELCOME
A short queue when you arrive but soon a smiley cheerful welcome.
