This company is advertising with a UK website but they are China based. The clothes are poor quality and the ‘hassle free’ returns is a joke. The clothes have to be returned to China at the customers expense. This is expensive and takes weeks. I was told to use a false value on the customs form which I didn’t as it’s dishonest, but they suggested
that! Then I had to fight for weeks to get a refund not a credit note. Overall a shocking experience and I would recommend not buying from them.

It can improve by adhering to its return process. All returns have to go to China at customer's expense. ALternative, when you wish to make a return, is offer of a partial refund through cash and credit note but NOT a full refund. I sent parcel to China as directed on website to an address in Ningbo. Cost me £30. Today the parcel has been returned to me marked as reason for return being that it was refused at the address and also that no one at address would claim it. Several other reasons it should be shut down too.

This company reports to be based in Manchester. It is not registered with companies house and is actually in China. I purchased items from them which id not fit were poor quality had no manufacture marks, size, washing instructions. In fact nothing. When I tried to return was told that I would have to snd them to China.

I ordered two pairs of shorts for a holiday. The delivery date kept being changed and ambiguous e mails were sent apologising but not giving specific dates.
10 days later I still hadn't received the shorts so I e mailed them a few times asking to cancel the order and have a refund because we were going away before they arrived.
Again I received waffling e mails which even said that if I didn't take the order when it arrived the courier would destroy the package!
As the courier is Royal Mail, I have never heard such a thing.
Outcome is, the shorts were delivered whilst we were away/ left outside for a week and PayPal have refused to recognise my request for a refund.
The shorts are cheap, made in China poor quality.
Advise not to purchase anything from Harrison and Hayes.

This company is not what it purports to be.
Their website is clearly giving the impression of a company based in Manchester, run by a delightful looking couple. it is in fact a scam company selling inferior goods, The picture of the product I now discover is a stock one used by many suppliers operating in the same scam way , and the product itself therefore bears little resemblance to the picture on their website. I wish to return the product using what they say is 'hassle free'.
I have now read the returns policy and right at the end see the statement that all items have to be returned to China. It takes some time to get to this information!
They are expecting a degree of detailed reading by an ‘ordinary’ customer having given the false impression of the company, and are therefore trading unfairly.
I intend to take this further but in the meantime do not under any circumstances trade with this company.

Please please please take my advice. Do not buy from this company. In Chins. To return is at least £27 for on item. I got lucky in the end.
They look good but THEY ARE NOT.

6 weeks of hell. Just ignore and hope they dissappear as a company.

Ordered shorts. Took weeks to arrive and discovered came from China. Poor quality material and dry cleaning recommended on label which is not practical for Summer shorts! Thin and badly creased. Bad fit. Refused return and even if could have returned it would have to be sent back to China at my expense. Very suspicious about the credentials of this company. I have learned a lesson to delve more thoroughly in future before online ordering

Didnt find size a good fit for my normal 22. Was kept informed of delivery though thought delivery was not very quick.

Be warned about this company. Very poor quality clothing. Obtaining a refund is impossible. They expect you to pay for returning goods to China. I have reported them to Trading Standards after they refused to issue a refund.

Totally misleading, the clothes are made in China and returns are to China not Manchester where they make out they are based. I am arguing with them right now for a refund. Why on earth would I want a credit note when I returned within 14 days though parcels are never going to get to China in 14 days if ever. A total scam. The clothes are nothing like in the picture. Poorly made with no style whatsoever. Do not be deceived.

I feel so stupid. I should have read these reviews before purchasing. The quality of the goods was poor and the descriptions very misleading. Add to that the very costly expense of reutrning the items to China it makes the whole experience a total farce. The pictures on the website look very good but the items (I bought 3) simply do not live up to expectations. A total waste of money.

Lovely dress. Exactly as it looked on line, including colour. Value for money. Quick trouble free delivery. Communication and tracking excellent. Look forward to buying from you again.

The only thing I liked about the item I ordered was the colour! Size, fit and material bore no resemblance to the description. Company remove negative comments in their FB, they say they are based in Manchester however items are made and shipped from China. Returns are to china and shipping costs are down to the customer.Should have checked them out on Trustpilot. Lesson learned

Not only are the clothes poor quality but their returns system is hugely frustrating. The company trade as a .co.uk business, but infact and as is more often the case now, goods are sent from China. Returns are a nightmare and costly postage unacceptable, so the company offer a credit and small discount on further purchases. Needs to be questioned.

Ibought 2 pairs of the Mae cotton/linen shorts (1 black, 1 beige) in May. After 3 washes the black ones have faded to the point that I am unable to wear them for the purpose bought. I wrote to them and they responded with -" I would like to offer you a replacement for the black shorts depending on your preference. Please let me know which option you would prefer, and I will ensure that it is processed promptly.". I'm not going to bother.

I firstly ordered 2 pairs of shorts which were great - a cotton / linen mix, good fit, nice to wear. I then ordered 2 more pairs, plus a 2-piece set. The 2-piece is not nice fabric and does not fit well. I emailed them for return details and am not winning - they want the item posted to China and heaven knows what else!!
NOT IMPRESSED with this service at all!

I like your clothes but I cannot understand why your deliver takes so long

No indication of timescale for delivery when ordering or country of origin of the goods and that they are direct imports to the customer
More specific size details and whether things come up small would be useful . Photo on model misleading as to cut and length of garment much more fitted and shorter than expected
