Took 8 days to dispatch my order…..

When you’re paying for delivery, I don’t expect to have to wait that long for it but it’s taken 8 days for me to get an update and it’ll probably be a few more days for the order to be delivered by Yodel! Joke!

If you want dead or missing plants, these are the best 👍 been pleased with previous orders…

Have been pleased with previous orders but this last one was shocking. Part of my order hasn't arrived and I can't get a response from them (tried 3 times now!) The tree that I ordered is damaged and is so unhealthy that I doubt it'll survive. The other plant was a buddelia and they can pretty much survive anything, so basically I've spent over £60 on a 'weed' as my grandad calls them. Won't be going near GE again

Asked to review something not received…

I have been asked to review the bamboo recently ordered - unfortunately I cant. Apparently my items have not moved since early morning 15 Aug 25 from the local delivery depot. I appreciate things goo wrong and the delivery company have escalated my complaint two days as a priority, no update yet. But what I cant excuse is Gardening Express not replying to my communication to expedite from their side . Even having a review request when it is known from consignment tracking is things have not been delivered indicates assumption that the delivery partner has competed the task. So cant comment on the item, deliver partner service is less than adequate, and gardening express customer service leaves a lot to be desired. If the plants ever get delivered I am now not expecting much after 7 days in the delivery black hole.

I have emailed garden express 5 times…

I have emailed garden express 5 times regarding my dead rose bush they sent me, and the other wasn't the same standard rose bush, i have uploaded photos and they still not reply, i certainly won't be buying from them ever again, in fact if id seen the reviews 1st, then I certainly wouldn't writing this; avoid at all cost 🤬🤬

Do not order from Gardening Express if…

Do not order from Gardening Express if you want a complete order to arrive, you want to be able to claim a refund for items that didn’t arrive and you value a good quality product.

I ordered 5 XXXL Hydrangea plants at a cost of 125. Only 3 arrived, so a loss of £50. The company has no phone number to call them so I had to raise an online complaint. Eventually I heard from a woman called Lola asking me to send her lots of details/photos of what arrived. I had also told the delivery man on arrival 2 plants were missing. I sent all the information requested back to Lola on the same day.

Needless to say, I never heard from Lola ever again, despite contacting her several times. And no refund. Complete silence and I am having to go through my bank to dispute the transaction. Absolutely appalling customer service.

This company is out to rip off genuine customers, I recommend to stay away.

If I could give minus 0 I would. Avoid this company . Plenty of other reputable sites who care about their customers and service given. So many of us with issues with company that will never be resolved. Surely it isn't legal how there is no phone number . They appear to avoid responding to emails and their online contact on their website. I have reported them to trading standards, but they don't care either . DO NOT use Gardening Express. It really isn't worth it .

Plants received in a near dead status

I have ordered 3 photinia cassini plants for £239. They arrived after 11 days and in a near dead condition. Soil completely dry and most of the plant.
I don't return the plant because I am committed to bring them back to life.. but I would never by a plant from them.

Delivered dead plants - stated that I needed to pay for return of the dead plants for a refund. Not worth your time and money. Avoid.

Bought a maple from this site

Bought a maple from this site. It was really bad, small, scorched leaves and in really bad condition. I emailed them with my complaint but with no response for over 2 weeks. They asked for more pictures of delivery note and of the plant. I sent them back to them again with no response, this was again over 2 weeks ago

Absolutely appalling experience with Gardening Express

Absolutely appalling experience with Gardening Express. This was my first and last order with them, never again!!!
First of all, my order took over 3 weeks to arrive (placed on 15th May, with the first part delivered on 6th June and the second on 9th June). I ordered 3 violas (all arrived dead and lifeless), a set of 6 fruit trees (dry and dead), and 2 bamboo fargesia (arrived tiny, dry, and in terrible condition, nothing like what they advertise).
I even waited to see if the fruit trees would recover, but after doing the bark test, it was clear they were all dead.

As soon as I received the plants, I submitted multiple contact forms and emails with photos. I received no response at all since June 2025, until I raised a dispute with my bank. When Gardening Express finally replied, they claimed the plants wasn’t covered by their warranty, despite loudly advertising a 5 year guarantee on their website.

I am still fighting to get my refund, but spare yourself the stress, wasted time, and money.

Terrible customer service, dead plants, and misleading promises. A complete waste of time and money. Avoid this company at all costs.

If I could give zero I would

If I could give zero I would. The plants I received never flowered last year, was advised to wait until next year and they haven't flowered this year either. I have sent emails this year to customer support and even one to the business creator/CEO, Chris Bonnett. No replies to any! Having now read all these negative reviews, I am amazed this company is still trading! £45 completely down the drain. I wish I could remember which magazine I saw them advertised in, (which prompted me to order the plants from), I would definitely write to them also.

AVOID - no customer service

AVOID - Ordered some plants which did arrive, however they arrived broken and (literally in half) where the packaging had been FOLDER OVER !! - reported the problem and they replied basically saying some damage is expected !! Firstly SOME damage does not really cover being broken in half and they also said if the problem persists after 2-3 weeks send another email. I'm pretty sure the plant in question will still be broken in half and still dead in 2-3 weeks - in short my experience is that they will supply the plants but in very very poor condition and if you report a problem they will fob you off.

Dreadful

Dreadful. Its no surprise that all these reviews are bad. What I ordered and what I received are completely different. They use AI for their website images and what I received for two plants were so appalling I thought instantly they were sick. I have tried to contact the company but they dont have a customer service department to communicate with and haven't responded to my review they requested I leave! Go somewhere else !!!

If i could cancel my order

If i could cancel my order, I would I've been waiting nearly 4 weeks for my order and its STILL not dispatched, just fot a couple of plants, their customer help service is also appalling AVOID this "company" will just cause you unneeded stress

Order number 700869138 - a genuine and very badly let down, customer who received poor good and very bad service. Appalling quality plants - so would not advise you to spend your money here - buy seeds if you can and grow your own - they will be better quality compared to what they shove in the post to you as they certainly have no quality control. Trustpilot should really let us post photo's so other potential customers can see the proof of how bad this is. received an order - most plants shrivelled up, dry leaves and some diseased- stems broken on most and hosts leaves like a sieve as there were so many slug holes in one of them - sent to me largely eaten away! They look like bargain bin plants at a bad garden centre and I am not joking, I have all of the pictures so I challenge the company to post them on their website for all to see! A 75% failure rate just on one order of 4 different types of items - the only thing that they didn't mess up was the bags of soil - the plants, which they claim to grow, were in shocking state and look at all of these BAD reviews. Fool me, Money back and collect the poor quality plants please - not needed here! Surely there are enough reviews here that are so bad that Trading Standards will now step in - let's see. 14 plants and all bad!
