I received nope. shampoo and conditioner bars for mother's day this year so my daugher and I have both been using nope. for 6 weeks now.
Between my daughter and I we are the ultimate test of nope. I'm 41 with a one year old baby (so hormones everywhere) I've always had very oily hair which I've had to wash daily since my teens. My daughter is 11 and like me has oily hair. She is also a competitive swimmer so is in the pool a lot so needs to look after her hair.
When we first opened the shampoo the smell was unbelievable! So fresh, so pepperminty we couldn't get enough of it. No fake, synthetic smell of bottles shampoos.
Honestly we didn't notice much of a difference in greasiness in the first few weeks but we preserved and around week 4-5 we finally started to notice a difference.
My hair isn't as oily and for the first time ever I can now wash my hair every 2-3 days. I've also noticed I'm not losing as much hair with each wash and my hair is becoming thicker and healthier.
My daughter's hair also feels much lighter between washes and is no longer using dry shampoo in the mornings to combat greasiness before school.

I must also add the personal service from nope. is great. I couldn't see where to write a review so I sent a message to ask. Within half an hour Rosie herself sent me a voice note explaining how to do it. Little things like that just give you confidence in who you're buying from.

We both love these shampoo and conditioner bars. Don't expect immediate results but if you have oily hair, please, please persevere because they really do work!

Great service from Rosie @ Nope. Easy to contact and speak to (not a bot or AI). Very helpful in giving advice on what to use and I ended up ordering the peppermint set and been using for several weeks now. I have not had a clear head from psoriasis for this amount of time, even with the stress of moving house etc, my scalp is clear

I just want to commend Rosie for such excellent service. I've been trying to order a bundle through their website for a while but it just wouldn't add to my basket to check out.
Rosie put together an invoice for me so I could raise my order at the discounted price. I'm sure I'll love the shampoo and conditioner bars and look forward to being a returning customer in the future.

Well what can I say a 2 weeks in to using this product and it’s amazing !!
I had fine limp greasy curly hair which didn’t curl well at all.
First wash it was clean and non greasy for 2 days which I normally wash my hair every 24 hours as it just looks and feels greasy and limp
5 th wash on it’s getting better each time the shampoo is cleaning my hair and all the plastics and chemicals out from a build up of shop brought products.
I use the conditioner on the mid lengths and ends and on leave on for a few minutes and then rinse and pat dry. I don’t need any serums or Product to comb through comb glides through my hair and my curls well I can tell you they look as good as when I was a kid before the chemicals and bleaching they are so soft and defined. I can’t rave about this product enough my top tip is give it a few weeks to properly clean your hair after years of chemicals and plastics your hair needs time to get used to this new shampoo so give it a month then judge your hair.
The founder couldn’t be more helpful and the delivery was fast. Please trust me give it a go it’s amazing stuff !!

Can’t say I’m impressed. I have used the shampoo twice now and a big chunk crumbled off today. Also my hair doesn’t feel as clean after use. It’s a little sticky. I won’t be buying again.

I have been using the nope shampoo and conditioner bars now for over 6 months. They make my hair so incredibly clean and soft. With regular shampoo and conditioner I had to wash my hair every other day, but using nope shampoo and conditioner bars, I now got up to 3-4 days (and that's usually because I've worked out and hair is sweatier than usual).
I use them with the little metal tins, which are great, especially for travelling.
I have children with afro/curly hair and I use these on their hair, too. It make their hair so clean and well conditioned.
Rosie's communication is excellent, items get posted really quickly and I am so glad I made the switch.
I recommend these to all of my friends!

I have tried so so many shampoos for thinning. greasy hair that needs washing EVERY day. The peppermint shampoo is perfect, it makes so much foam so quickly from only two or three rubs, no pulling on my hair. It's the first time I have been able to leave it a day between washes. The conditioner bar isn't great and doesn't seem to lather or come off on my hands to apply anything to my hair. But the shampoo is so good that I don't care.

Used to have to wash my hair everyday as it was so greasy tried everything then I saw nope bars advertised and thought well I tried everything else,,,so glad I did my hair is healthy and I don't wash it everyday,,,will not go back,,,I use the peppermint one as I love the smell

I thought this brand could be the answer to my oily scalp but unfortunately not. I ordered the peppermint shampoo bar to try, I used it 5 times (shampooing twice, using the bar directly on my scalp and not piling my hair onto my head as per the instructions which came with the bar) and I washed my hair every 3-4 days. On the first day after a wash my hair seemed okay, a bit dry but okay, then on the second day after washing my scalp would become oily again and the rest of my hair would feel even drier and look extremely dull. I’m brunette and I’ve never dyed my hair, sometimes it has a golden tinge but using this shampoo it just looked like a dull mousy brown.
I emailed the brand asking for a refund in line with their 28 refund policy and they stated that it only applies if you buy a set because the shampoo and conditioner balance each other out. They offered to send me a complementary conditioner bar but I didn’t see how this would prevent my roots going greasy after one day, I could see how it might help the dryness but then I’d just be correcting an issue their shampoo had created - since I’d never had such dry dull hair with my previous shampoo. My main aim in buying the shampoo bar was to reduce oiliness.
I responded stating that the conditioner wouldn’t help with my oily scalp so could they please refund me instead, they pushed back initially but when I pointed out that it was going to cost them the same amount to refund me as it was to send a free conditioner bar they gave up.
However their email informing me of the refund was very rude, they said I misunderstood their advice on how to use their products. Even though I followed the advice for using the bar and no matter how they spin it, a conditioner isn’t going to make my scalp less oily.
This was the last email I received from their customer service team:
‘Okay Hannah as you've misunderstood, what we've done is provided you a full refund if you'd like us to send you any tips on how to reduce greasiness let us know and we'd be happy to.’
I won’t be buying again

After years of battling greasy, fine hair that after washing, styling and wearing down would be limp and flat by the end of the day. With the peppermint bar, I can now wash, style and wear it down for two days with it still looking styled, no sign of grease and looking great! I can then wait another two days with it tied up before needing to wash again! The bar size and travel pots make travelling so easy and save so much space. Not to mention the environmental benefits.Customer service and shipping is 5*, I could not recommend enough.

Amazing stuff!
I suffer with really greasy hair, wash it today can't wear it down tomorrow greasy! And this stuff has worked wonders, I now only wash my hair on the 4th day and I could stretch it out another day if I wanted. This has cut my hair washing down to twice a week max for 4 or 5 times a week!
I bought the peppermint set and Ive not been disappointed. Ive tried every bloody liquid shampoo and shampoo bar in th market before finding nope and I won't be going back. Ive been using it aboit 2 weeks now and Ive had comments on how glossy my hair looks and it feels squeaky clean after every wash. There's none of that heavy feeling left in your hair after using the conditioner either. The whole set is just great. Life long customer here. Can't thank you enough

I have to say nope have nailed it! My bathroom is a wasteland to half used shampoo and conditioner bars that I’ve tried. I will definitely be ordering Nope again, my hair feels amazing.
Sometimes other shampoo bars feel nice during use, then when you’re styling you realise there’s a residue, or some feel absolutely awful during use and you just about manage to get a brush through after, but Nope bars have left my hair easy to style and fresh feeling, and they were great to use. Lathered well with little effort & rinsed away with no residue .

I kept seeing the ads on my Instagram so thought I’d give it a try (having never used solid shampoo bars or anything before) and have been an avid ‘nope’ fan ever since! Rosie was great and helped me work out which bars would be the best fit for me (peppermint shampoo and into the deep conditioner as I have greasy roots and dry ends)
So, I started with the hair bars for a few months and eventually added the face and body bars to complete the collection when I saw they do a bundle bar builder on the website - It’s a YES from me 🙌🏼
I’ve even had a few comments about the new bamboo pots in the bathroom aswell, such a nice addition!

Was hoping I had finally found the solution to have lovely hair but sadly not the case. While the peppermint shampoo did make my hair last a day or two longer before I reached for the dry shampoo, the argan conditioner bar did help detangles and after use, yes hair is manageable but the next day looks and feels like straw, is limp and lack luster. I'm happier to continue using the shampoo bar than the conditioner, just made my hair worse. My search for the perfect shampoo and conditioner continues

I really wanted this shampoo to work as I'm trying to reduce my plastic use. I ordered the peppermint shampoo and conditioner as I get greasy hair. It's leaving my hair feeling heavy, dull, and sadly, greasy. An expensive experiment.

I ordered the shampoo and conditioner bar for my 8yr old daughter as she has very fine hair like me and it starts to look greasy quite quickly especially in summer. She loved the smell and it has made a real difference to the length of time between washes. I also tried it and have been amazed at how much cleaner my hair feels. I’m usually washing it every other day but after the first time using this I washed it on Monday and didn’t wash again until Thursday morning. Day two I didn’t need my usual dry shampoo! Result!!

Since peri-menopause I’ve had super greasy hair. Tried non sulphate shampoo and all sorts but within 12 hours it would be limp and greasy and stuck to my head. Managed to find howaboutnope via search engine and thought I’d try the peppermint refresh shampoo and conditioner bars. All hail thee!! No more greasy hair - honestly it’s a game changer and smells incredible!! AND so much easier to take away when you travel. Love it!!

I’ve been using shampoo bars since the early 2000s after developing a skin allergy to synthetic fragrances which made buying a lot of normal shampoos tricky. I thought I’d give Nope a try after Lush got rid of their Ultimate Shine bar and I struggled to find a good replacement - plus I happen to live just north of Portsmouth so it also means I get to support a local business!

I like all the shampoo bars, but my favourites are Into the Deep in cool weather and Peppermint in hot weather. Into the Deep doesn’t have a strong smell but is really good for flyaways, and Peppermint is perfect for sensitive scalps. Argan Roots is far and away my favourite conditioner though, my hair is waist length and wavy so skipping conditioner is not an option unless I want to look like a startled cat and this bar is the best at moisturising. The In Control face bar is also perfect for my combination skin type.

The new website bundle builder is perfect because it lets me mix and match my favourite shampoo, conditioner and face bar in one order.

Wow these bars are amazing! I have always been reluctant to try these as I have a lot of hair but these bars wash all my hair effortlessly! the lather on the shampoo is amazing and my hair smells and feels great 🙂 you've then got the added bonus of helping the planet ♥️

Definitely reduced the frequency of washing and lasts a long time!
