(I'm an adult former player here who was an active players as a kid/teen and has revisited recently.) I have to say it's probably one of the worst games I've come across.

It's definitely the most pay-to-win game I've ever seen. All good stuff (best/rarest horses, best riding centers, achievement leaderboards) is hogged by "no-life" adults who spend probably hundreds of dollars on the game and play religiously every day - both of which is required to "succeed" in the game. Great environment for child players!

Goes without saying that the game is plagued with never-ending microtransactions, and gambling elements (many lottery-type of events and items). If you're a parent, get ready for your kid to be begging for your paying for stuff frequently.

The game will delete your account after only 6 months of inactivity with no way of getting it back, and without any prior warning. From a couple of other players' experiences: It doesn't matter if you've played for over 10 years and have spent hundreds of dollards on it. Support will just tell you it's gone.

Other things you can get punished/banned for:
- selling a horse to someone for an unreasonably low price
- any giveaways
- sharing a computer with another player (support will sometimes baselessly decide that it's the same person)

The game itself can be quite fun and also played in many various ways.

However! The game is heavy infested by users cheating in different ways everything from trying to lure items out of new players, Real world trading ( In-game content for real money ) that may include Black Market Items, passes, equus, horses, top breed etc.

The game is quite expensive special when consider how many players are around 16-25 years old.

the game is filled with sales offers ingame all the time and can be consider Pay to Win.

There is not even a security for your account no 2FA or anything and i bet i won't ever come cause then they might end up have such blatant evidence they actual had to ban some of the cheaters.

Big servers you dont feel cheating as much as small ones where Danish Server many top players have or have had anything from 1-10 accounts same time and some sell there old when buy new where others stack them.

it really takes out all fun and joy in this game when every tiny bit of the game is inflated by cheaters

Don’t bother joining. Even if you buy passes to make your own breeding team to get to the top, the top teams stomp your horses out of their 20 wins… It’s become a monopoly for the current top teams. Spend your money on another game. Thousands of dollars wasted just to get stuck on no wins for 6 generations of horses because they don’t like the competition.

The customer support is simply terrible, and the in-game experience gets worse and worse day by day. The game is one money-milking machine making players invest more and more for little to no reward at all. I had encountered an issue with the titan's challenge and was provided with little to no support at all.

Been playing this game this I was young. Very disappointed. When purchasing credits they say it was successful then don’t credit your account! So I tried a second time and still nothing happened! Have messaged howrse directly 4 times when they reply they ask for proof. Which I’ve provided back to them then nothing! That’s as far as it goes! And this isn’t the first time! Have reported to apple hopefully I’ll get my money back! Disgusting service

Have been playing for a decade but due to being busy have not played much. Suddenly my account was deleted because of inactivity. No warning no emails nothing! 10 years of playing down the drain. Can't believe howrse treats loyal players like this

Horrible customer service. They delete accounts stating you have multiple. Don't admit to be wrong because it's impossible their data is wrong. Never really try to help you but just defend themselfs.

Absolutely awful! Don’t pay for VIP! Not only is it expensive but it runs out a day before it’s supposed to and if you’ve made a team it will close it permanently! All of your breeding farms get deleted! It’s a nightmare! The whole game is an expensive pay-to-play mess!

So I've only been playing this game for about 2 years roughly, and in that short amount of time i have encountered endless amount of small and quite large issue's

Now first of the game changing? This is a game with lots of children yet we are being forced to more and more Micro transaction. Event's got Bonus content unlocked with the premium currency.

Almost every time there is something on sale a magical UFO with a bonus for buying currency appears can't be that random?.

There is an affiliated where we can earn passes, Now that is partly true, just beside the fact the company lives of take our information and send to about 49 company that will call you down for an eternity with sales speeches.

There is also survey's But just like the above statement whatever you chose risking your phone number or not. They just stop caring after you earn certain amount of credits and they stop crediting you for your information and time given.

This is straight up fraud, our time is worth more than money and going to support both in game and with the affiliate to get nothing but more time wasted?

This game cares nothing at all for there players

They didn't even add there own game to twitch for free advertisement and to help the player base find each other and share there passion for the game?

Small things like once you redeem a thing it can't even track it on the site so you wont even know when or how or on what you redeemed gift / special offers on.

The game allows cheating and manipulation, and to be fair Ive done it myself just to see if it actually worked and it does i traded the lowest tier of Black market items for the most expensive. To be fair i would of traded it back if the user contact me and said it was a misclick.

But people use this tactic to feed of other peoples mistakes, and lets be honest the current trading market is kinda hard to get a quick overview about.

People are selling horses that are worthless for small mid or insanely high price of Passes (The premium currency) my girlfriend bought some by mistake not knowing it was a horse not worth anything.

Example seen, an all new horse ( not legacy ) low Genetic ( still not that hard to find and not low enough to be any kinda collectable) Rare coat? not at all still it was listed as 2000+ passes. and the support team find this all understanding that a trash horse that usually would sell for 3500 equus all of the suddenly is listed as worth more then 600 times that price and most likely even higher as the equus to pass rate is higher among players than the server shop.

I contacted support about these actions and yet nothing seemed wrong to them, when its a obviously scam.

i might need to add i play on multiple servers and this might be worse on the low populated server compared to the international but there should be rules about this on either server.

Account sharing / sales, This is mostly focused on at the Danish server where i have information about several accounts with everywhere from 100-2000 days played lots of divines and so on passed on to players who just can't be bothered to do the grind.

Another issue with this game is the absurd abuse of the in-game options to share you account for some help.

Whats the point of this when people use it to secure there progress on a single account, letting people play for hours for days on your account because you can't be bothered to share you general progress with the team? or just founding the aging points and let other do the work in game while you go earn the money to supply them.

However you turn it, this option as far i saw was mean to help people days they where busy like emergency things. perhaps a vaccation.

But no there is people that are being bribed to take care of your many horses daily for ingame benefits. so the owner can get more done for less time in a day.

All these things scares away new players, they feel abused once they realise how they been used.

And returning to the market place why can we offer 1 of our item for 3 of the same in market place?

Example if id be trading 1 nyx package for someone's 3 Nyx package. basic they are just gifting me 2 of that said item.

How is that not seen as fraud I've even reported this long ago has it been fixed? i doubt

Returning to the game after 5 years and somehow it’s gone even more downhill. AP farmers and pass horses now gone. Most newer divines / coats have terrible designs, with some art being plagiarized and others not being appropriate for a children’s game.

Your game mail is spammed with offers and at any given time there’s 3+ different promos trying to grab your money. It costs $8 just to change your username, let alone progress at the game. The newest item, Tyche’s Crown costs three times as much as the Horn of Plenty despite having the same rewards, yet Howrse has the audacity to pass it off as a "deal."

I've never seen another game with such draconian rules. It’s even "illegal" to trade horses or most items. For a game with millions of players, the forums are doorknob dead thanks to the hostile environment and rampant censorship. Moderators are rude, and at the mildest critique of the game some sycophant steps in to justify why Howrse can do no wrong. I was docked a karma point for saying I didn’t like the forum’s colors LOL.

Must pay real money to make any progress, rude and unhelpful community, all horses that are the same in age, breed, and color look identical (unless you have something from the black market that lets you change your horse's appearance), takes a long time to do anything with your horses (aging, training, etc.), not realistic, gets boring pretty quickly, and you have to log in a lot to keep your account from getting deleted because of "security reasons" which makes no sense whatsoever

I have played this game in the past and started over and over again many times. I thought it would be fun to start over one last time out of nostalgia, but after 1 day my account was deleted for having multi-accounts. I didn't make more than 1 account and never had multi-accounts. I mailed howrse and told them that I didn't had multi-accounts and that maybe it was because me and my friend both made an account on our school (same ip-adres).

They send a letter back saying their control software had seen my account as a multi-account and that they evaluated it with their team and that they agreed with the software. They also randomly said I wasn't punished because I share my laptop with others (which I don't and never mentioned). And they straight up told me: your account has broken the rules and is therefore rightfully punished. We will not undo this and if you want to play howrse, we recommend you play by the rules.

I used to like this game, but it clearly isn't what it used to be. I can see now that this game is better left in the past. The admins of howrse don't care about what happens to the players.

I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone. I would strongly advise against playing this game.

Bad policy in maintaining accounts, data deleted without warning. Bad customer service thereafter.

Something wrong with overall attitude. Customer should be number one, internal policies should support maintaining customers.

Major leadership problem, therefore ending my daughters relationship with this enterprice, try to survive without customers, if you can.

This is the most great howrse game (aha, nice pun) I've ever played. It's very great even if you don't update to Pegasus/VIP accounts.

Originally howrse is a super fun game.

But customer service and the friendliness of the moderators is way below average! I found out that there are a lot of shady things in the partner offers for free passes. They ask for information that you shouldn't ask. I reported this to the howrse team and kept getting forwarded with no friendly response. Finally reported. Answer? They can't help and you have to report the offer yourself.

So the conclusion is: Young, ignorant children are being ripped off and cheated.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I was having fun and getting back into the game but then my account gets BANNED after spending $ on my account. That being said, I had messaged howrse as I created two accounts and I didn't realize it was against the rules, what do they do? They ban me. After telling me I can delete the account without penalties.

Usually, I am not a review writer - but long story short, everyone should stay away from this game.
Let's start with some good points.

Other than that, the game is absolutely crap.

The graphics are not too bad, but could be so much better.
- Everything costs money
To even achieve a small amount on this game, you have to spend tons of money. By this I don't mean a few dollars, but rather, a few thousand dollars. Sure you can try to go without spending any bucks, but not only will you not climb the rankings whatsoever, but you won't be able to do anything because you can't pay. Everything is much to overpriced.
-Terrible customer service
I could rant on and on about this. The customer service of howrse is complete sh i t, and I am not over-exaggerating. First off, they take such a long time to reply, and sometimes they just ignore your questions. The responses are always short and not very direct, meaning they are horrible at answering questions. Most of the time, nothing changes, and they don't do anything to help. Often they come off rude as well, and obviously are just here for the money!!
- Rude players
Although this is not the fault of the actual game, it's a very important part. It is extremely rare to find any kind people, because everyone is about competition. People are so good at cheating on this game, and can really bring you down. If you do end up wasting your time playing this game, I recommend not talking to anyone. There are so many creeps on the game as well, so make sure to stay away from that. Also, the teams are all so very toxic, it's insane.
-Favorism/can't share your opinion
This I think is a very important part to take notice of. Even if you just politely voice your opinion, karma gets docked from you, meaning you can't play the game really anymore, or worse case scenario, your account is deleted. The only opinion you can voice is if you are a Christian, and state that on your page, which is so utterly disgusting of the game.
-Time waste
Something also to note, is that if you want to make the slightest of progress on this game (not just competitively, also just for fun) you should plan on spending several hours on this game, because it is very laggy, and everything takes forever to do.
Overall, I do not recommend this game to anyone. It is so time wasting, money wasting, and absolutely crap. Please, please, even if you enjoy this game, remember it is all about the money for the producers, and you should not waste your time for them.

I've been playing howrse for more than three months. It's fun and mostly free too! You can breed horses, and it is mostly based on reality unlike other games with their messed-up facts. But like I said: Mostly. Overall it's fun and the drawing is good. Love it. 5 stars.
