If you are a contractor who feels that you have too much money and time...

If you are a contractor who feels that you have too much money and too much time, try HSS Training. Their customer service oozes no qualms about wasting contractors' money and time. And they'll treat you like a chump too, for free!

30% price mark up for the priviledge of losing x2 days work for x3 men.

Edit: HSS Training does NOT provide Spanset training. They are just a middleman. Go straight to the provider, eg. Spanset.

Edit2: Now we have booked the same course through Spanset directly, we can see that you are supposed to get an overview email before the course, giving useful info like: Required arrival time; full PPE required; only vending machines available, no canteen, so bring lunch. Of course HSS Training FAILED to provide our delegates with this useful info. More evidence that they just don't care about the service they provide.

1) They refused to refund a 50% booking fee penalty of £140 (penalised because we moved the date for one delegate), although they then cancelled the booking for the same day for x3 delegates, with less than 24hours notice.

2) They did give us a discount code for the day they cancelled, after I hassled them for some recognition of the money lost and illogical penalty fee. However, HSS Training wouldn't give us any details about what discount the code could be used for - what courses, what limitations - like how long it was valid for.

3) I chased a confirmation of a booking for x3 delegates, as by now I was concerned about dealing with this company. Confirmation received. So a few days later our delegates arrive at the training site. They were turned away. HSS Training had failed to put their names on the list.

4) Spanset - the real training company - are not happy with them either. Imagine the embarrassment for Spanset that they've had to turn away so many contractors, who have taken the day off esp to attend a Spanset course.. but HSS Training REPEATEDLY fails to pass on names and monies!

NOTE: If monies had been passed on, the booking would be in place. So when Spanset say our payment was not passed on - it was NOT passed on. Ours was not the first time either.

5) I alert HSS Training on the day of the refusal of entry for our delegates. No apology, no reply. I email a full breakdown of our loss and requirement for a refund. No apology, no reply. I call the next day - Ricky comes to the phone eventually - condescendingly 'What seems to be the problem here?'

The problem was that we were racking up £1000's losses losing days of work for x3 men + the cost of an over-priced Spanset course for x3 delegates.

We did get a refund for the course. I will never use HSS Training again.

Ricky was mystified - how this could happen? Couldn't be HSS Training. Like it's never happened before. Strange that Spanset reps - who are at the training site - have a different story from HSS Training - who are nowhere to be seen at the training site.

Don't expect HSS Training to rectify a problem they can't see.

(Just seen the way the travesty of a 'Customer Service manager' is telling me how I'm allowed to complain and that I am not allowed to pinpoint who abused our time and money... these people make me sick.)

Our friendly, industry-professional trainers are highly experienced and qualified to run courses right through from Scissor Lift operation to First Aid, and far beyond. We are extremely proud to be biggest provider in the UK of a number of course lines including PASMA, IPAF and The Ladder Association.

In addition, we also work closely with a number of industry-leading Alliance Partners, including Spanset. This allows us to facilitate specialist training courses across a wide range of sectors throughout the country, opening up skilled qualifications run directly by the experts to our learners.

I have spoken directly to the supplier regarding your feedback - they have stated no conversation around payment issues has taken place, and I have ensured that this is neither an issue now, nor has been in the past. My sincere apologies however for the error in communication and your refund has been fast tracked over to you. In order to do this, we must establish what has happened - but I'm very glad to see this was processed immediately.

Once again apologies for any inconvenience caused. I would also note that while my primary focus as Customer Service Manager is the customer journey - ensuring a simple booking process, and a comfortable, learning-productive environment for all our delegates - I do also have a responsibility for the wellbeing of my Customer Service Agents regarding any correspondence, both written or verbal, which could be seen as personally damaging. I would therefore kindly ask that any further correspondence is directed to myself - if I am unable to assist, I will be happy to escalate further.

AMAZING

The whole training experience was amazing, it wasn't your average classroom boring learning, this training day was enjoyable and fun, Steve Smith our trainer was fantastic and very funny which kept us awake and interested in actually learning the course.

I 100% loved this course and will definitely be booking again because of Steve. Thank you for keeping our spirits up and giving us a fun day of learning.
