Read this before signing up for Huron Law Group's Debt Program!

I'm an accountant with 20+ years' experience, including debt negotiation. I signed up during a genuinely hard time — my father had aggressive Alzheimer's and passed, and I needed help. I regret it. You can negotiate your own debt for a fraction of what they'll charge you.
1. Fees were misrepresented at signup. I was quoted $55/month. For a single settlement, they charged $4,824.37 — not the $1,210 I'd agreed to — via a retainer fee, settlement review fee, monthly service fee, check payment fee, "BLP" monthly service fee, and yet another monthly fee. After fees, the settlement actually cost -$18.37 (no savings)*see ledger.
2. Payments weren't sent to my creditor. For a second debt (settled in full, no savings) they collected three more additional monthly payments totaling $506.31 — and remitted none of it.
3. Refund promised, then quietly reversed. When I cancelled, I was told I'd get back "any outstanding funds." Instead, they added a new retainer fee for the exact amount owed to me — $591.31 — and every representative and manager I've spoken with since says they can't issue the refund. No one with that authority has called me back.
All I'm asking is for Huron Law Group to refund the $591.31 so I can pay the creditor for which funds were not remitted on their part. If they refund the $591.31, I'd have no further complaint to raise publicly. That's a fair ask given the $4,000+ in fees already collected.
If you're overwhelmed with debt, there's better help than this. Happy to point you toward it — just ask. <3

Company is awful settled 3 accounts on my own. Will not take any information or settlements from you. Been paying for over 5 years and still have not settled all my account. Doesn't return calls and could have done this myself and been done with it. At a better price!

They never return a call. They are unresponsive to requests, hence never returning a call. Very uncommunicative.

Work with your creditors directly - Huron Law Group does not do what they promise.
They've done very little of what they said they'd do for me. One of my creditors is suing me and Huron Law Group says that they won't represent me. Huron LAW group, who I am paying for legal services, says that. When I registered with the program I was specifically told that in the "unlikely" even a creditor sues, Huron Law Group would handle it. I guess when the judge asks me if I have representation, I'll say, "Yes, but they couldn't be bothered."
You will fare SO much better if you deal with your creditors directly.

Disappointed
Well it's not what expected It To Be. So far I've end up in court not once but 3times already. This is what I was trying to avoid COURT...for the same case!!! Iam not happy. They're trying but iam very disappointed 😞 I should of just filed for bankruptcy instead of going with them!!! "Disappointed"
