The aroma and taste are both very good. I was surprised how relaxing the "social blend" actually is. A great alternative to alcoholic beer.

Awful customer service

Really disappointed with this company. I recently received my first order on time however, when I opened the package six of the cans were significantly damaged, not what you expect for a premium product. There is no damage to the packaging so they must have been packed like this! I have reported this via auto message, email and telephone and no response from the company, awful customer service.

Once great ... now not so great

I have had only positive experiences with Impossibrew up intil the latest order - placed 29th March, notified there would be a delay until after the Easter weekend due to DPD/Iran War/fuel issues.
Still nothing and what is worse no reply to the emails I have sent requesting an update.
From the other recent comments here I seem to be in good company!
If there is a delivery problem just let us know, but don't leave people hanging. Has the company gone bust?

I really hate to leave a negative…

I really hate to leave a negative review as I will always try to support independent and smaller businesses, but the customer service has been shocking. I can't review the product itself as I still haven't received it.
The first email received just after placing my order said that DPD the courier had reduced their slots due to the fuel shortages and this was creating a backlog, however, I may still receive over the Easter weekend. It's now the 14th April and I've still not received anything despite an email last Friday saying it would be despatched on Friday and with me Saturday. Radio silence from the 'hello@' team and my order status has not changes for 12 days.

I appreciate it is a small team managing enquiries, but my advice would be don't underesource for something as important as good customer service and don't then overpromise and underdeliver.

Meanwhile, still waiting.................

Something has gone very wrong

Something has gone very wrong with this lot.
Money taken 17 March.. no delivery despite DPD saying they had on the 19th... got a response on 1st April saying a repeat order was on the way... nothing yet. No response to e mails and the promises from the chatbot are false.
Shame as the actual product though expensive is good.

Zero customer service

Failed order, no communication from the company, am £116 out of pocket. Simply no response from Impossibrew. The good news is that my bank are being super helpful and are disputing the transaction. Real shame, nice product but one simply can't deal with a company this bad at service...

This is the worst customer experience I…

This is the worst customer experience I have ever had with a business. They deliver my package to the wrong house, then ignore me. I tried to speak to the chat bot on the website and it’s terrible. Then I emailed 3 times to see if they could help - 1 week later, still nothing.

They say to email if you have trouble but then don’t reply. It makes no sense.

My order number is EC212059
I have disputed my payment.

It’s a shame because the product looks good but the customer experience is the worst.

Been sober for almost 9 months to combat my mental health issues.

Impossibrew supply the nearest I can taste to the ale I used to drink. The Cask Ale is good albeit expensive for what it is. It’s always out of stock too! I’m not a fan of the lager.

Easy to order, maybe a little longer on the delivery than I would expect. All in all, the best so far!

Decent AF beer....Terrible delivery

Ordered on the 2nd April and a week later, zero update to the order. Even though they state that after a bank holiday, orders will be shipped the next working day. So that's a lie.

Turns out the issue was with the war in Iran and DPD cutting back on delivery slots. Non of this was ever published before ordering.

So, after well over a week of waiting my order finally arrived. In two different vans. This isn't ImpossibBrew's problem though, it's your typical DPD one. However, it just added to the frustration I found here.

The beer on the otherhand is good. The lager is weak but does taste like a lager. The brut IPA is good. Essentially a fizzy beer with a nice IPA bitterness. Cask Amber and IPA are all decent AF efforts. Hats off to the Cask Amber limited edition. This holds the closest to real ale as you can get in the AF world and is delicious. You are never going to get the full on flavour of real ale here, but it's a start. Shame it's a limited edition.

I will be buying again from them as you cannot fault their product. I just wish their messaging on the website would inform you of any stock shortages or delays.

Delivery a bit hit and miss…

Had a couple of orders and I like the beer but the ordering process is a bit hit and miss. My last order didn’t arrive and when I complained customer service said they’d look into it but the next morning just cancelled my order.
I ordered a different AF beer and it arrived the next day. So for me, it’s a good product but the delivery process needs work.

Fell short - Refund Requested

First time purchasing Impossibrew based on some friends feedback. Unfortunately it was never to be. Some mix up with my order meant it wasn't delivered when expected and has now missed the deadline for when I need it. Customer service responses are slow but after a frustrating few days and a fair bit of radio silence I've now had confirmation that a refund is being processed.

Disappointing experience from start to finish

Bit of a nuisance from start to finish really. Ordered the starter pack and, as a lager drinker, I was tempted to just order 10 lagers but then opted for a mixed pack of lagers and ales so I could try them both.

Ordering was easy enough and they arrived quickly, albeit to the wrong address (thanks DPD, up to your usual low standards).

Every single can arrived dented or damaged in some way despite the outer box not being damaged, so they most likely left the warehouse in that condition.

I did try the website's support chatbot to report a damaged order and was asked for my order number. Copying and pasting my order number into the chat window, the bot replied that it didn't understand, despite being provided with exactly the information it had asked for. I told it that it was useless and I would e-mail instead (I know, I know, but it made me feel slightly better). Nevertheless, the bot replied that it was sorry to frustrate me and that "my feedback had been flagged to the team as urgent".

12 days later, and still no response to my e-mail, I receive e-mail confirmation of yet another order I wasn't aware I'd asked for as part of my ongoing 'subscription'.

Checking all the e-mails I received after the original order, there was no mention of me having set up a subscription, unwittingly or otherwise, and the word 'subscription' did not appear once in any of the e-mails received.

That, is very, very naughty. If you're going to automatically opt-in first time purchasers to a subscription service, morally you should a) make the website crystal clear that is what you are doing, and b) confirm in writing the details of the subscription, so anyone mistakenly signing up is at least aware of what is happening.

Having not received a reply to my original e-mail, and now wishing to cancel the second, unwanted order, I sent a chase e-mail.

To be fair this time I got a response pretty quickly, they offered to immediately cancel the subscription, cancel the unwanted order and refund it, and either cancel or credit my account to the value of the original, damaged order.

I opted for a refund of course for reasons to follow.

The refund for the unwanted order arrived within a week or so but no sign of the refund for the damaged order after a week - cue further chase e-mail.

E-mail reply received and refund processed, that took around another week.

And I've not even talked about the product yet!

Sadly, and somewhat surprisingly as a career lager drinker, I found the lager offering to be pretty tasteless, just that mild malty taste that you get with most AF beers, and also lifeless, very disappointing. The Ale on the other hand was much nicer, had a very pleasant taste vaguely in the style of a half decent Craft Keg beer.

As for the alleged 'Buzz'? Well that eluded me entirely, it seemed to me to be a bold claim and so it proved, if you're looking to this product to replace the taste and feel of an alcoholic drink, I'm afraid you're going to be very disappointed.

The only reason they're getting a 2 star review not 1 is on the basis of the Ale which was actually half decent.

The slickness of the marketing for this venture is staggeringly good, sadly the Walk doesn't live up to the Talk for me.

Matt here from IMPOSSIBREW. I want to sincerely apologise for the experience you had with us. You're right that your initial email on the 5th of February should not have gone unanswered for 12 days, and being charged for a subscription order you weren't aware of made things even worse.

We did get both refunds processed for you (EC202349 on the 17th Feb and EC199470 on the 23rd Feb) and your subscription was cancelled immediately.

We've since made changes to improve our response times so no customer is left waiting like this again. I completely understand if we've lost your trust, but if you ever want to give us another try, we'd love to make it up to you.

Meh…

It just tastes very watery - like watered down lager. Disappointing after the hype - like the idea, and it is drinkable, just the formula needs some Oomph in the taste.

Matt here from IMPOSSIBREW. Glad you enjoyed the flavour, especially the Pale! On the Social Blend, the effects tend to be more subtle and build over a few cans. Everyone responds a bit differently depending on their tolerance and sensitivity to the ingredients. If you're up for it, try having 2-3 cans in one sitting and see if you notice the difference.

Disappointed Drinker

As a seasoned beer drinker and someone who retired from the brewing industry after 15 years service, I have to say I was pretty disappointed with this product. It's quite thin on flavour as are most of these low and no alcohol beers quite often due to the relatively low grain bill and low starting gravity so nothing new here. The beer goes very flat soon after pouring and I didn't get any particular effect from the "social blend" that is supposed to replace the alcohol, I think one would get more relaxed from alcohol than ashwaganda. Their system of signing you up to a subscription by default is a little naughty so watch out for that one.

Matt here from IMPOSSIBREW. Really appreciate the detailed feedback, especially coming from someone with 15 years in the brewing industry.

You make a fair point on the grain bill. We've deliberately kept it lighter to hit our calorie targets while still aiming for the best flavour we can. It's a balancing act and we're always refining the recipe. Our Triple Hopped IPA has a fuller body if you're after something with more weight to it.

On the Social Blend, results do vary person to person. The L-Theanine and Ashwagandha are dosed at levels supported by research, but sensitivity differs.

On the subscription point, that's fair feedback and something we're working on making clearer at checkout.

I purchased a pale ale starter pack
Was excited from the hype of having a non alcoholic drink that gave the same relaxing feeling but without the alcohol. Sadly disappointed. The ale itself is quite thin & watery. And theres no buzz, no chilled feeling, and after two was quite gassy. Not worth the hype or ££ sadly I'll be looking elsewhere to a non alcoholic buzz/wind down feel.
