Save yourself the hassle. Do not trust them with expensive items!
Save yourself the hassle. Never again.
In 20-30 years of using dry cleaners, I have never experienced serious damage to my garments. With Iron Man, I have now had major issues on two separate occasions.
The first time, they shrank my curtains.
The second time, several expensive Hugo Boss garments were returned damaged, distorted and poorly finished, shirts simply not ironed! What followed was weeks of frustration: countless emails, hours spent taking and submitting photos, multiple claims, and three additional trips back to the store. Only after the third re-treatment and ironing attempt were the garments finally returned in an acceptable condition.
What shocked me most was the complete lack of accountability. Rather than acknowledging that the damage may have occurred during the cleaning process, responsibility was repeatedly denied and the blame was pushed towards Hugo Boss and the manufacturer. Despite the significant inconvenience, I never received a genuine apology for the damage, the time lost, or the stress caused.
I was also offered what I considered a ridiculous discount, despite spending hours documenting the issue and making repeated journeys back to the store.
Another concerning aspect was the lack of transparency. During the claims process, Tonio presented himself as merely an employee with limited ability to deal with the claim. However, my understanding is that he is in fact far more closely connected to the business - he is the founder of this local shop.I was left with the strong impression that this was another attempt to avoid responsibility rather than resolve the issue.
Ironically, Tonio himself acknowledged that their new ironing employee was not performing to the required standard. Yet responsibility for the condition of my clothing was never accepted. While staff were searching for my items during one of my return visits, another customer in the store was simultaneously trying to locate missing shirts.
Mistakes happen. What matters is how a company deals with them. In my case, the pattern was clear: damaged items, denial, deflection, no apology, and a customer left to do all the work.
If you value expensive clothing, designer items, suits or household textiles, I would strongly recommend taking them elsewhere.
One major incident can be bad luck. Two major incidents from the only two times I trusted this company with valuable items tells me everything I need to know.
