My experience was generally positive

My experience was generally positive, which is why I gave 4 stars. The communication from the service team was excellent—they were responsive, helpful, and kept me well informed throughout the process.

However, the quality of the sofa bed I received was disappointing. You can clearly feel the springs and the internal frame, which makes it uncomfortable. There are also visible stitching and fabric defects, and the stitching has already started to come apart even though I’ve only had it for one month.

Overall, the company is doing very well in terms of customer service, but there is definitely room for improvement in product quality and quality control.

Looks Good in Store — But a Nightmare Once It’s Yours

Please think twice before buying from İstikbal UK. What feels perfect in-store may turn into months of pain and frustration once delivered — and the company won’t lift a finger to help.

I bought a mattress after testing it in-store, where staff confidently promised it would match the showroom model and “soften with use.” What I received was rock-hard, uncomfortable, and has stayed that way ever since.

When I raised my concerns, I was met with robotic replies, scripted policies, and zero empathy. No refund. No exchange. No accountability. Just repeated references to their internal terms, ignoring the actual problem: the product wasn’t as described, and I was misled.

If you’re considering İstikbal, ask yourself:
❌ Will they help if something goes wrong?
❌ Do they care about customer comfort after they take your money?
❌ Can you trust their in-store promises?

For me, the answer to all three was a clear no. Disappointed is an understatement

I bought few months ago sofa-bed I already called few times for service to them to come and fix it. I AM STUCK WITH FAULTY SOFABED. Keep trying to waste my time no good customer service relationship or care!
Probably will going down legal route like many others they left me no choice either! NOT RECOMMENDED

Poor product quality and customer service

As a Turkish citizen living in London, when I decided to buy new a bed and mattress for my home, I directly went to Istikbal Bedding in Harringay; a brand of my country. I purchased a double ottoman bed and mattress from Istikbal 14 months ago. Last weekend, while using the ottoman storage feature, I raised the metal base and locked it with the provided plastic red component. Shockingly, the metal base cracked and bent while in the locked position, posing a serious safety risk—it could have fallen on me.

When I contacted Istikbal, they dismissed my concerns, stating it was my fault and that their warranty only lasts one year. They offered to replace the metal base for £100 as a "goodwill gesture" (instead of £250), which I find unacceptable. A bed should not break within 14 months, and this raises major concerns about its durability and safety.

I expect Istikbal to take responsibility by recalling the faulty bed and providing a full refund, as no customer should have to pay for a structural failure that could have caused injury. Given the safety risk, I will be reporting this issue to Trading Standards and pursuing a claim via the Small Claims Court if they don't address my complaint.

Moreover, the branch manager who called me regarding my complaint accused me of attempting to return the product by threatening to post my complaint online. As a customer, I have every right to share my honest review with the public. Their calls are recorded, so this claim should be on record—unless they have chosen to delete it.

I do not recommend Istikbal due to their poor product quality, lack of accountability for safety defects and terrible customer service. Buyers, beware.

Regarding the issue with your ottoman bed base, the mechanism is designed to be highly durable and safe when used as instructed. The metal frame is reinforced to withstand normal usage conditions, and it is highly unlikely to bend or break without significant force. It is important to note that the storage base should not be closed while in the locked position, as this places excessive pressure on the frame. This precaution is clearly outlined in the warranty documents and on the warning labels under the bed.

We always strive to support our customers and have offered a replacement at a significantly reduced price as a goodwill gesture, even though the warranty period has expired. We regret if our resolution did not meet your expectations, but we remain open to discussing this further to find the best possible solution for you.

horrible experience

horrible experience, I bought a bunk bed and one piece is broken. I have called them several times to get this sorted but they keep delaying it or avoiding calls. horrible customer service! unacceptable.

Definitely stay away

We purchased a mattress and a base from this company. The mattress we received turned out to be faulty, so we returned it. The main manufacturer in Turkey claimed it was a factory defect. However, they did not honor the gift voucher they provided us. Definitely stay away; it poses a risk of losing your money.

Faulty items and nobody cares

Faulty items and nobody cares. They suggest procedures that aren't compliant with the UK Consumer Rights Act, such as charging 20% to return faulty items within 30 days. They say we can repair but they never get back to you. No customer service. The corporate Istikbal headquarters export department didn't get back to us, either. I am stuck with a faulty bed and sofa. No remedy offered. Going down the legal route as they left me no choice.

Our policy clearly states: "If there is an issue related to a faulty product, the part will be either repaired or replaced as soon as possible. However, the remaining balance is needed to be paid in full." Per our warranty terms, this clause demonstrates our commitment to promptly and effectively resolving any issues with faulty items. Still, if it was the customer's fault, as was the case, the customer is responsible for payment. This doesn't go against the Consumer Rights Act, as there are exceptions depending on the circumstances and the specific terms and conditions of the purchase agreement (like these).

It's always a good idea for consumers to familiarize themselves with their rights under consumer protection laws and to contact relevant consumer rights organizations or seek legal advice if they believe their rights have been violated.

We assure you that we take our customers' satisfaction seriously and always try to work with them to find a satisfactory solution. We remain committed to resolving issues following our warranty terms and the Consumer Rights Act.
