Vet missed an injury first time round but want to charge me again
I took my cat to Ark House Vets in Leighton Buzzard on 23rd September as she was lame and struggling to walk. The vet struggled to examine her paws but found a cut on her right paw base and one on her left hip. She was prescribed anti inflammation medication and cut spray.
Within hours of getting her home her paw swelled to twice the size. I emailed photos to the vets who said to continue with the medication. The same night an abscess appeared between her two upper paw pads. This would have been hard to see without pulling apart the paw pads but it was there at the time of the first consultation but was missed. The abscess burst and she was in a lot of pain. I emailed further photos to Ark House Vets. They said I could come back but were charging me a £63 re-examination fee! I complained profusely but they say the cut was not there when the vet first examined her and that it occurred after I brought her home from the first consultation. We are talking about a matter of hours between the vet seeing her and the abscess appearing, and my cat has not been outside of our house since she came back from the vet two days ago. I will be leaving Ark House Vets immediately and would rather pay for an emergency consultation at another practice than pay to see these sharks again. I'm really disgusted.
