JD Gyms - CastlefordAvis 

Since joining the gym a week ago I have really enjoyed using different equipment . To exercise with the opening and closing times are good . I would recommend this gym to my friends.

Just easy to access the amenities and the hours also fit well around my daily schedules

Multiple times the staff/ PT's would come talk to the person on the treadmill next to me. Putting their feet on the treadmill I was using, almost onto the actual running track, or stand right between the two treadmills. Never actually coaching the person next to me just chatting. No recognition of personal space at all or care I could trip over their foot on my treadmill.
On a few occasions there were people leaving the gym who stopped to talk and then just vaped in the middle of the gym, staff didn't bother to say anything, just let them blow the smoke everywhere.
Cancelled my membership pretty quickly.

I just wanted to get back into the gym ,when to spin on Wednesday and enjoy ed it

It's a fantastic place that very well equipped for all your needs

My only problem I have with JD gyms is that they have the news on which prohibits me from using other equipment. This may seem daft to some people but I have severe anxiety and it’s took me a very long time to go to the gym and this does put me off.

Fabulous facilities, always clean and we'll looked after. The atmosphere is very welcoming.

Been using one machine over the past two year’s, never had any issues during this period and have been seen by numerous gym staff and never been challenged. Was informed last night that I have to wear trainers on this particular machine and then told to get off the machine halfway through my time at the gym, the member of staff then proceeded to show me documentation from H/O that trainers had to be worn everywhere on the gym floor, whilst I was discussing this with the team member other members had their socks on with no trainers but I was told this was ok in this part of the gym which 100% went against the policy he had shown me minutes before, so it seems Health and Safety is not consistent across the members.
Frustrating after 2 years of using this one machine and being seen by numerous members of the team with no problem to then be told after this particular member of staff working there for 7 months I can’t use the machine.

Awaiting a call from the Area Manger to discuss and confirm the T&C’s and if I can continue to use the gym

26.11.25 - Not returned as yet as they are still deciding on the meaning of “gym floor” however my wife attended Wednesday evening between 6-7 and found members working out in bare feet in the area where people stretch and put their hands on the floor, lets hope no one had any warts or verruca’s, staff members present but nothing said. Looking forward to the definition once they decide amongst themselves 👍

Clean and reasonably equipped. Chose it as Sauna in changing room but flow to shower and to cool down area not well played out
