JD Gyms - Sunderland Avis 

I love the gym because the staff are lovely and the people who go there are friendly and I settled it really well because of how nice the staff and the over people are

Excellent equipment, clean changing areas, sauna and 24 hours access, only downfall is jumped up steroid freaks, but was put in his place so all good 👍 💪

Good and affordable Gym with good maintenance

The gym is 10/10. Great atmosphere, different compared to all other gyms. Great mix of people in there and all at the gym for the right reasons. Staff are lovely the equipment is modern . So pleased I moved to jd gym

The men's changing rooms are totally unacceptable the smell makes me want to throw up I'm glad I train at the middle of the night so I don't have to use them the equipment is really good staff cart really sat

Ripped equipment, pads for leg extension not changed in 4 months… nothing is changing and the answer is always this same (next week)…

Lots of equipment and space. I've been at a variety of times and have managed to get what I wanted done. I've done a class and loved it. I like the QR code entry and like the idea of the 24hours opening. Only downside is there is a bit of a dodgy smell outside the locker rooms. It seems like it's quite localised to that area (the rest of the gym doesn't have this smell) and seems that they're aware and are trying to resolve it. It genuinely hasn't massively impacted my experience, but would be a nicer experience if this was resolved.

Men are a bit creepy and make you feel uncomfortable by watching you in the mirrors whilst making it obvious , staff are lovely tho

The facilities at JD gym are exactly what you would expect for a gym and they are fairly clean and tidy. If I did not need to cancel (change in circumstances has left me unfortunately too short on time for now and I'm not sure when this will change) this review would be higher.
My advice - if you wish to leave the gym DO NOT follow their cancellation process, just cancel your direct debit. If you are iffy on cancelling direct debits then request to freeze your membership and then apply to cancel before that runs out. Beware that if you do follow their process (as I did) you will find they will rob you of another month's charges before they will cancel your membership. (I requested to end my membership on 1st September and I now find myself as being a member until 17th October despite me telling them I will not be using the gym at all - they took the additional payment for another month on 18th Sept, well after I'd requested to cancel and cited that they require 30 days notice even though I am apparently not on a contract and had I not followed their process I would not have been charged this.)
Personally I find this absolutely shocking customer service and it does mean that when my circumstances do change I will not be rejoining JD.

It’s a very good gym company with lots of good equipments. I feel pumped right now

1st time in a jd gym and my first interaction with a jd member of staff made me feel welcome and looking forward to my induction. Everything was explained to me and helped me make joining an easy process.

Finished work at 1am went to train at 2am but noticed there was no changing rooms to get changed out of my work clothes so had to leave. A place to get changed and maybe showers in between 12-5am would be perfect for me as my shifts I don’t finish till after 12am

Great gym. I go during quiet times so it's relaxed. Good choice of machines and plenty of them. As I say I go when it's quiet so never have a problem. Also the changing rooms are great showers are clean and tidy and a fabulous sauna👍

My experience so far at JD Gyms Sunderland has been great.
All machines are working great, and the staff here are ever ready to assist you.
So far, it's been great and I hope it stays that way.
