I would rate no stars if I could

I would rate no stars if I could. This company offers express post and claims to deliver item if ordered before 12 midday, between 1-4 days delivery. I’m now on day 5 and nothing. They are trying to blame Auspost but considering this is the second time this has happened I very much doubt it’s auspost fault. Your express delivery service is utter nonsense and you shouldn’t be offering it as a service. You are totally misleading your customers! Also getting through to customers service is a complete joke. Order you shoes elsewhere.

Return Policy is not consumer friendly

1st time ordered 2 pair of shoes on sale. Purchase was online. Once product arrived, I tried them on and one of the pairs were very painful on my feet. Tried to return and learnt they do not support return for sale items. A big drawback for a pair of shoes that you have not tried on. Never buying online from Jo mercer ever again.

The support should be better set up in this situation - disappointed

I’ve purchased from Jo Mercer a few times, but this experience was disappointing.

I bought two pairs during a “buy one, get the second 70% off” sale. The second pair ended up being extremely stiff and tight, even though I ordered my usual size (42). They’re not wearable, so I needed to return them.

What’s frustrating is that returning one pair means the discount is forfeited, and the pair I keep reverts to full price. The whole reason I purchased both was because of the sale, so it feels misleading to lose the value of that offer when one item doesn’t fit.

I also wore the other pair, which I likely wouldn’t have purchased on its own at full price.

This policy makes it hard to shop sales online with confidence. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t purchase during one of these promotions again.

No response from customer service

I'm very sorry to post this review. My last order was smooth and easy but this one, my biggest one yet, has disappeared and nobody will respond to my queries. I think I'm about to write off a $500 order. I'd avoid this company I'm sorry to say (I do love their shoes but can't afford this).

3 pairs of Jo Mercer shoes. None lasted.

I own 3 pairs of Jo Mercer shoes. My first pair broke twice within the first two times I had them on. I had to get them changed twice and on the third, I received a refund resulting into purchasing another two. Spent more on a leather pair and got a standard pair. They do not last. They got so loose in less than 6 months, it was like wearing flip flops around. It’s too expensive for such poor quality.

Expensive and poor quality

I have a pair of shoes I have hardly worn and clearly has their name on it and the customer service said I must provide a receipt to prove they are theirs. Why print your name on the shoes, that should be enough it identify them. The quality is so poor I will never purchase from them again

BUYER BEWARE if purchasing sale items!! I have made 2 on-line purchases with this Australian company. The first purchase was for a pair of black,leather, heeled boots that I paid close to $300.00 for. That was the original off-sale price. Everything went smoothly & I was happy with the boots when they arrived.
However, some months later when I noticed a sale on their website, I purchased 2 pairs of leather, heeled boots that were on 70% sale. Original cost of each pair of boots was close to $300.00 each so around $200.00 off each pair! Wow I thought, what an amazing bargain! BUT, when they arrived both pairs of boots were faulty. The leather on both pairs of boots were crinkled & creased with one pair being worse than the other. I promptly emailed their Customer Service line to report the fault of only one pair of boots because I figured I would still keep the other pair as the damage wasn't as noticeable as the other pair & most of the damage would ve hidden with what I would be wearing them with. Well waiting, waiting, waiting for a reply came days later implying that faults should be expected when buying sale items. Are you kidding me, implying that sales are their way of getting rid of their damaged stock! Their website does not advertise this so this was basically my reply back to them. Then more waiting, waiting, waiting for a reply from them & several unsuccessful phone calls in connecting with anyone. Days later I get a response from them via email about process of return or refund, mentioning if I opted for a refund there would be a $20.00 fee deducted from my refund. I emailed them back saying it was not right that I should be out of pocket for being sent a faulty pair of boots, but got no reply back from them about this fee. Eventually I get my refund but not for the full amount that I paid for the boots. Refund was $6.00 less than what I paid for the boots. I emailed them & didn't get an explanation why this was. It's only $6.00 but it's about honest trading & treating customers fairly. The full refund is what I should have been reimbursed & nothing less. I will not purchase from them again. They are clearly a deceitful company who get rid of damaged stock on sale & this is an abhorrent practice to extract money out of honest people. Such a stressful experience overall & their Customer Service Line is difficult to deal with being elusive & uncaring. I am unwilling to take further risks with my money & dealing with this company again.

Terrible product and awful customer service

I wore a new pair of Raffia sandals for 2 hours and they have started falling apart. The company said it's natural for that to happen and they won't refund or exchange due to wearing them. I would avoid this company and find quality shoes elsewhere for the same price.

I was told by customer service that the materials Jo Mercer use naturally degrade within that time. One of their shop assistants said it wouldn’t pay for repairs because it would be too expensive. So much for “premium leather shoes made to last”.

Poor Customer service

Had an issue with a near new pair of shoes and reached out to customer service and the customer service was rather disappointing!!!

Brilliant customer service - good quality shoes

I have now bought many shoes from Jo Mercer and generally very happy with the quality.
The customer service has been exceptional recently as a design issue caused the strap of one of my sandals to tear. Despite the time since it was purchased, I was offered a credit note. I will certainly be repurchasing from this store.

I purchased a pair of Jo Mercer shoes for $99 on sale they were valued for more and was very disappointed in the quality. After only one day of wear, they were already damaged. When I contacted customer service, I was told this was just “wear and tear,” which in my opinion is unacceptable for shoes at this price point.

I expected much better durability and support from the brand. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend Jo Mercer shoes.

I made to feel like the shop attendant was doing me a personal favour
The shop attendant was condescending towards me
And the year 2025

This is what happened I paid about $220 cash for a pair of shoes and I was advised if they didn’t go with my dress I could return it which I did the next day
I chose a different pair of shoes which meant I was supposed to get about $150 back which I asked for in cash
The lady asked if I had a card to which I said no
Then she spent about 20 minutes getting through sales receipts for the days to see if she had enough cash
exasperated I when and got a coffee only to return and have the shop keeper say to me in me in other customers

“ We don’t usually do this dear, but I am going to do it for you just this one time.

This was said to me in a very condescending manner

I was not advised by the lovely lady shop assistant the previous evening that I should not expect a cash return for a cash payment

Come-on shop assistant lets respect each other regardless of m
Payment type and age and my rights which was to have my refund in cash as shown on the receipts I produced
To respect the shop assistant who rudely served me will provide the details to the company via email if they require it so the shop assistant can get some additional costumer service training

Waited a month and still no delivery

Ordered Boots after a month they still had not been delivered. I contacted the company on a number of times only to get we are looking into it messages. I asked for a refund but that was ignored.

Extremely disappointed and appalled by…

Extremely disappointed and appalled by Jo Mercer’s quality of boots and customer service.

I purchased a $300 pair of black leather heeled boots, expecting a high-quality, durable product. I wore them once — to my workplace in a clean, indoor setting — and at the end of the day the leather had already scratched and peeled. I was shocked that boots at this price point could deteriorate after a single, very normal wear.

When I raised this with customer service, I was told it was "external impact" and therefore not their responsibility — completely dismissing the context in which they were worn. Even worse, after I followed up three more times to ask for reconsideration or even a conversation about exchanging for a more durable pair, I was completely ignored. No reply. No resolution. No professionalism.

Jo Mercer has lost my trust. I’ve been a loyal customer for years and never had issues before, but this experience has been genuinely appalling and greatly disappointing. Poor product quality and even poorer accountability. I expect so much better from an Australian brand at this price point.

Save your money and shop somewhere that actually stands behind their products and their customers.

Disappointed by misleading returns process

The shoes were hard and narrow, so I returned them. At checkout, only the promo tag appeared, not the sale tag, so I read the return policy for promos which allows refunds. After submitting the return to my surprise I was notified that since the item was a sale item and I could only get store credit. That notification only appeared AFTER the return was submitted.

This is misleading. Customer service was inflexible, and now I’m stuck with store credit for a brand with hard and narrow shoes. BTW their shoes used to be nicer, but the quality has declined since Jo Mercer left and new management took over.

BTW, the reviews on their site are powered by Yotpo, which appears independent but they have control over which ones to publish, which is also misleading. What a deceptive company.

TLDR: All sale items at JM are store credit only, even when not marked as sale in the checkout flow.

Do not bother

Terrible customer service with generic responses. I bought 2 pairs of shoes following their online size guide which turned out to be 2 sizes too big! I had to pay customs and they would not accept responsibility for the mess up or offer me a free return seen as it was their fault entirely. Do not bother unless you are sure the shoes will fit you.
