My husband and I searched for months for movers who would be able to handle a complex international move from Los Angeles, California to rural Ireland. We felt very insecure about all of the American companies we came across, as their reviews were often terrible, and they were too corporate/large to really care.
Finally we decided to search for a moving company based in Ireland. We immediately came across "Just Move", which had stellar reviews. We made contact and found ourselves speaking directly to the owner, Wayne. He was straightforward and reassuring, and most importantly, had a lot of experience with international clients and large moves.
We did encounter some difficulties with the American company he had to subcontract, whose management was not nearly as good with communication and organization as Wayne was. However, the actual workers moving our things were very nice and careful, which really helped balance things out. At the end of the day, the important thing is that all of our belongings arrived intact and in good time. This was in good part because of Wayne's good and long-established relationship with his American counterpart.
"Just Move" packed us into one extremely full 40ft ocean container, 9 airplane pallets, and another 20ft container with our car inside. Their team here in Ireland went above and beyond to make sure everything was unloaded safely and efficiently. Their movers are the most polite, smart and pleasant workers we've ever come across, and their care and attention, under Kevin's guidance, never wavered.
At the office, Keith was particularly helpful and attentive, though everyone was very patient and kind. At the end of the day, being able to contact Wayne at any time, even when he's busy living his life (sorry Wayne) was a rare privilege. Few people make themselves available like this nowadays, and it makes all the difference.
Wayne also has extensive and detailed knowledge of the shipping industry, and is able to communicate clearly and deal with any issues as they arrive. We also benefited financially from his global connections in the industry, as he was able to give us even better prices than we had hoped.
Overall, we highly recommend "Just Move" if you find yourself in the unenviable situation of having to move your whole life somewhere new, whether within or out of Ireland. They will get you there safely and with integrity.
