Great service, great value and nice people.

Jon Vincent serviced my gents Longines Master series watch. I live in Suffolk but decided to put my beloved Longines in the hands of a company in Scotland that I had never heard of. They were brilliant. I communicated by phone and email to get an estimate of cost then posted my watch via insured Royal Mail. After a few weeks I received a call to say it was ready, paid the bill, which I thought was very reasonable, and my watch arrived soon after. The watch is still working perfectly. I will use Jon Vincent again. Thanks.

The service, the product and the price were all excellent.

I had my Edox Incabloc watch repaired and refaced. It was done quickly, cheaply and very effectively. The watch now looks great and functions perfectly. Thank you Jon Vincent.

Service was okay, but not better than okay.

My overall feeling is that I was the one who had to be active in obtaining updates on progress. I was disappointed that I did not receive any form of written guarantee when my watch was returned to me after repair.

We are as disappointed as you are that you had to actively seek updates from us regarding your watch repair. We have recently restructured our business operations to ensure that our customers receive regular updates at every stage of the repair process. Excellent service

Would recommend anyone that requires a watch to be repaired recommend first class, my husbands watch was bought abroad and Jon Vincent were the approved dealers had reservations as I lived in Hampshire watch and back like the day we had bought it outstanding

Great, friendly service!

I had put off sending my watch off all the way to Glasgow for 2 years. When I finally got my act together the service was really fast friendly and happily reasonably priced. Wish I had t waited so long to do it.

Did an OK job but the the time was incorrect.

Unfortunately the only place in the UK that will replace my watch battery so no choice available. They replaced the battery but when I got it back the time was an hour out. It took some fiddling for me to correct it.

We understand how frustrating it is to have to fiddle about with your watch to set the time, however our repairs go through quality checks before they are returned to our customers so what we believe has happened is it has reset itself in transit. Your particular watch is radio controlled from Germany and due to the lack of sunlight during transit it possibly reset itself to European time. Awful

Awful mess of a service indeed.

Watch was sent back, I was charged for parts which weren't defective, came back still unfixed correctly. Had to send it back again, got sent to Junghans in Germany again, charged a lot of money and, my postage was never refunded which had been promised to me by JV.

So a watch my wife bought me for my wedding I actually had on my wrist for about 4 weeks in that 6 months it was being banded about with JV.

I had to work with the sole (one person) Junghans UK rep involved and the initial retailer, absolute mess, bad communications throughout.

We acknowledge receipt of your comments and we respectfully reply as follows.

In clarification: at no time did Jon Vincent Watchmakers carry out any work on your watch: it was still under manufacturers guarantee at the time and all work was conducted by the manufacturer in Germany.
Therefore, due to the fact that Jon Vincent Watchmakers neither sold you nor repaired your watch we feel that your 1* review of us is tantamount to “shooting the messenger”, that you are being economical with the truth, and that your comments are frankly disingenuous.

Mr Clement, in terms of your watch being “banded about” by ourselves, we do not treat our client’s watches with the disrespect that would be inferred from this language. At all times we handled your watch with care and respect.

As I clarified above, all diagnosis and subsequent repair of your watch was conducted by the manufacturer in Germany. At all stages their findings were accurately relayed to you, which you accepted and willingly paid for the repair.

As to why the manufacturer deemed this repair not liable by the manufacturers guarantee and charged you for the repair and parts I can only quote them “we found that the glass was damaged by external influences. As a result, damage to the gait has changed (clock going strong after, -4 seconds per day), so also a Regulage [sic] must be made.” Therefore your watch was given a new glass and the movement was regulated to put it back into working order. For this work the manufacturer advised us to charge you 109.25EUR which at the time equated to approx £90, which as I said above you duly accepted and paid.
You did indeed return the watch to us and we forwarded it once more to the manufacturer in Germany. We are led to believe that after protracted discussions between yourself, the manufacturers UK distributor and the retailer whom sold you the watch, you received compensation from all concerned.

With regards to your postage being refunded: for an under guarantee repair you are liable for the postage on the first occasion, if you have to subsequently return the watch then postage will be refunded by the manufacturer. As the manufacturer deemed this not to qualify as an under guarantee repair at the outset there does not seem to be an obligation on their part, or ours, to refund you the postage.

We here at Jon Vincent Watchmakers are experienced enough to admit when we have not fulfilled our role to the best of our abilities. On this occasion however we cannot accept your critique as we feel it is wholly misplaced.
