Firstly the product is great

Firstly the product is great.
Secondly I experienced some problems with delivery which when they engaged (took a bit of prompting) Kompo were excellent in replacing.
All in all getting a Kompo wasn’t without more effort on my part than should have been the case but the end result is more than worth it.

Simple to use and a great product

Extremely informative video explaining the product, it is a considered purchase but the benefits are great and I hadn’t thought I would enjoy using it as much as I do! Ordering was easy and the product arrived quickly and sensibly packaged.
Once it arrived, instructions are simple, no set up required, just fill the canister and go! The end product is dry, easy to decant into an airtight container or pop straight on the garden, either when potting up or just rake it into beds and borders. The dry mix has a genuine pleasant compost smell. All in all, another great step in our re-cycle journey.

Only ordered it 6 days ago but wish zi had never bothered. Have emailed the company numerous times. Got 1 reply 4 days after i sent my first email. He daud the item was being dispatched yesterday yet it still hasnt been. Not replied to my further emails requesting a refund.DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM..USELESS.

Undelivered Product 9 months late

I purchased this over 9 months and after promising each week to deliver this still has not turned up it is rather frustrating I have paid for this product and I am very disappointment on the delivery of the product. Ben from Kompo has promised me each week it was being shipped out so I how am doubting that it will turn up . Not Happy

Hi Lee, This order was part of our Australian preorder batch, which had a timeline that unfortunately shifted due to import delays out of our control. I understand how frustrating that wait must have felt and I do apologize! I can see that once you requested a refund, we processed it straight away. It took over a year to get delivered

It took over a year to get delivered. They didn’t put in two more extra filters I ordered. I sent emails they are extremely slow to reply and difficult to get help the composter is okay. I wish I could trust this company from the start. It not a scam but it makes you feel like your scammed when the don’t get the delivery right after such a long wait. Wouldn’t recommend buying from them again.

Was first launched as a Kickstarter so I was keen to support it but it’s been 9 months (ordered June 2025) and no show. Communications from Kompo are practically non existent and when I did hear back it was another fobbing me off email without any tangible info. Shockingly poor customer service and in the end I had to ask three times for my money back before I was promised (today) it would happen. The product may be good, I’ll never know but I’d hate to have got one and had any further queries/questions as I’d probably never hear back from them.

Still waiting….

I received my Kompo really quick and was excited to start using but unfortunately on day 2 the whole of my kitchen side was soaked, I found the claims of not producing a smell to be inaccurate, and the digital window had steamed up. I cleaned the machine and asked for the returns process. I am now 5 days later and have received only 1 email to ask if I’d taken the plastic off (something that is not listed in the instructions to begin with regardless of me finding this out myself).

Far from happy customer now… customer service has been really poor. Site states that returns are accepted but here I am still waiting for a reply and direction in how I return this product.

Kompo v2 as seen on Dragons Den

i bought my Kompo v2 as i watched it on Dragons Den. i had been considering the idea of a kitchen composter for many years, but until i saw this one on DD i couldn’t take the risk. Anyway, once ordered the machine arrived yesterday, exactly 8 days after ordering online. As i type its in the kitchen doing its thing, turning a weeks worth of kitchen gunk, straight out of the caddy, into reduced compost. It’s quiet and there is no noticeable smell. So far, and i know its early days, but so far i am very impressed. The only criticism, is that their instructions booklet is a bit basic with no mention about when to replace the carbon filter etc. what i’d like to see are a couple of real life review and instructional videos. maybe i’ll do one.

Great piece of kit

As others have stated, it took a long time to receive following pre-order, but I'm thrilled with it. We have had it several weeks now and use it once a week, reducing almost our entire food waste to a handful of compost every week. Our flowers are also delighted!

My Kompo has arrived - this is not a scam

I just want to confirm - as others already have - that this is NOT a scam. I was one of the original kick-starter subscribers about 13 months ago. It has been a long wait but my Kompo arrived this week. So hopefully yours will arrive soon

Well worth the wait

So it took a year. But this is Kickstarter and we are helping a start up get off the ground. Ben always replied promptly to emails with updates and since it has arrived, I can't get enough of it. I am seriously impressed with the output. It is quiet, doesn't smell and easy to use.

DEFINITELY NOT A SCAM - Kompo received!

I received my Kompo last week and, like everyone else, had waited months for it to arrive. Because I received prompt responses when I asked for updates, it never crossed my mind that it was a scam, it must be so hard to get a new venture off the ground.

Anyway, I’ve used it twice since I got it and it does exactly what it said it would, reducing organic rubbish almost to soil.

I’m very pleased with it so far and hope everyone who’s waiting patiently will receive theirs soon.

It took a while….. but

It did take a very long time (13m) to arrive…… but I did know it was a kickstarter and that you are ordering something to fund its initial production and so that is par for the course. Even I had doubts about this thing ever coming but to be fair, when I emailed last November I got a fairly swift reply on the current state of play. It still took a while BUT IT FINALLY ARRIVED!!!! And based on the first couple of goes it’s fabulous. Exactly what I had hoped for…. And absolutely, positively no odour whatsoever….it looks pretty robust, just got my fingers crossed it lasts and keeps on working. Hooray!

KOMPO received at last! NOT A SCAM!!

Ordered my Kompo in March 2025. I was becoming increasingly frustrated with delivery delays & read on here that many people were calling it a scam. Everytime I emailed Ben though, he got back to me very quickly. My composter arrived on 10th Feb, almost a whole year after I'd ordered & paid for it! I'm fascinated by it, love it already!

Kompo was delivered today and I love it.

Yes, it's been almost 11 months since my pre-order and communication about delays could have been better - but whenever I emailed Ben, he replied promptly with updates.

This is a scam and a very elaborate one…

This is a scam and a very elaborate one at that. After ordering in June and having multiple promises of receiving the product, I contacted my bank and raised a dispute. As it had been over 120 days, I cannot claim my money back. The fact that they are still scamming and able to sell on shopify is very disturbing.

Scam

As others, ordered in July 2025 and no product despite emails to suggest otherwise. Requested refund and now waiting on that, again, despite email suggesting it was being processed.
Do not order…. Most definitely a SCAM.

Update 12/02/26: after multiple emails promising a refund, I was asked to send my banking details… I don’t think so! I told him to go via SHOP. I now have my money back. On the SHOP site- they do not support this product so the fact the Kompo site is still advertising the affiliation is a concern.
If you purchased via SHOP, lodge a complaint via them and demand Ben from Kompo refund via SHOP.

Hey Carmela, I have looked into your previous refund request and can confirm that there was difficulty in refunding your payment as the payment provider doesn't allow automated refunds after 120 day periods. Before reaching out to shop to manually refund the payment a direct transfer to your account was the quickest option which is why we offered this. I can see that once you stated you were not happy with this we reached out to Shop directly, who then resolved the payment manually. If there is anything else that we can do you for don't hesitate to reach out :)
