I signed a Job Search Advising/Coaching Services Agreement with Labtuit Inc. (Santa Clara, CA) in 2022, paying a $199 upfront fee. I used their services briefly through October 2022 and had to stop after finding no role through them, while continuing to work at my existing employer (BQE Industries). Although they only contacted me briefly at the start and a few times after that and stopped contacting me completely and never helped thereafter. I never accepted a new job during the agreement's term — I remained in the same role until being laid off in April 2026. On June 20, 2026, I received an email from Labtuit's Executive Director, Alex Martin, attaching an attorney letter
demanding payment of an unspecified fee and threatening a $5,000 "penalty" plus a lawsuit if I didn't respond within 5 business days. This demand contradicts Labtuit's own contract, which states the fee applies ONLY if a client "is offered and accepts a new paid job," and that "if Client doesn't accept an offer, there is no fee for the Service, and there is no penalty." I never accepted a new job — I was separated from my existing one. No fee was ever triggered. I'm reporting this because Labtuit appears to use this same
playbook on other former clients — threatening legal action and steep penalties years after minimal or no service use, regardless of whether any contractual fee was actually triggered. They obviously are unaware of my situation and assuming things. The guy Alex emailed me again today (07/21/2026) about the same. I believe this is a deceptive and coercive debt-collection practice ever triggered.

This company has been terminated since May 2023. Please verify its status through the California Secretary of State's business records. If your employment or contract was during or after this period, you should carefully review the company's status, as Labtuit Inc. was no longer an active California corporation at that time.

I signed a contract with Labtuit three years ago hoping they would help me find a job. They did absolutely nothing to help me. No meaningful leads, no interviews arranged, no real support.
After the three-year contract period ended, and despite never finding any job during that entire time, I received a letter from their attorney demanding money and threatening legal action. They also demanded my full tax returns and W-2 forms for the past three years.
The most shocking part? They clearly had no idea that I was unemployed the whole time. If they had actually tracked my situation or provided any real service, they would have known I never worked. Instead, they treated me like I owed them 3% of income I never earned.
This feels like a predatory tactic — sign people up with big promises, do little to nothing, then harass them with attorney letters and invasive financial demands years later. I cooperated by offering a simple affidavit confirming I never got a job, but they pushed for full tax documents anyway.
I strongly advise everyone to stay away from Labtuit. Save your money and time. There are far better ways to job search without signing contracts that come back to bite you like this

Avoid Labtuit – A Highly Disorganized and Unprofessional Money-Hungry Firm

My experience with Labtuit has been deeply disappointing. The organization is highly disorganized, making it difficult to navigate their processes effectively. More concerning, however, is their aggressive approach to collections. Despite submitting all requested documentation, I was met with threats of significant legal fees. It feels less like a professional service and more like a company designed to extract maximum funds through intimidation.

Their policy is a bit unfair. I knew it going in but took a chance. I had an issue where they'd be stopping all services as soon as you got a job. Well, only a couple months went by and I already found a job on my own. But, it states I still have to make the full payment even though I barely used their services. I did manage to negotiate getting my resume revised but it's not really that great. I haven't gotten too many hits with it since they don't focus on inputting ATS keywords.

If you're hoping to get their services to get your next dream job, don't hold your breath. It's mainly to get you a job, any job, so they can get payment in the end.

I recently had a rather disappointing experience with Labtuit, and I feel compelled to share my concerns for the benefit of others considering their services. While I initially joined with high hopes of improving my job prospects, I found that the reality did not match my expectations.

Firstly, the fear of not finding work was one of my major concerns before signing up with Labtuit. However, I regret to say that my fears were not unfounded. Despite their promises, I did not receive the support or guidance I needed to secure a suitable position. Moreover, I found their pricing to be exorbitant, especially given the lack of tangible results.

The coaching and regular check-ins, which were meant to be a significant selling point, did not offer much real value in my case. I felt that the advice and feedback provided lacked depth and specificity, leaving me feeling lost and uncertain about my progress.

One of the most disheartening aspects of my experience was the feedback on mock interviews. Instead of constructive criticism, I was met with harsh and discouraging remarks that did little to boost my confidence or improve my interview skills. It felt demoralizing and counterproductive.

The lowest point during my engagement with Labtuit was the terrible suggestions they provided for sensitive information during an interview. Their advice on explaining my reasons for leaving a previous job due to conflicts with my former boss left me emotionally distraught, to the point of tears. It was clear that they were insensitive to the emotional impact such advice could have on someone.

In conclusion, my journey with Labtuit left me feeling let down and frustrated. I believe there is a significant need for improvement in their approach and methodologies. I hope they take this feedback constructively and use it to enhance their services and truly provide the support they claim to offer to job seekers.

I would advise others to carefully consider their options and thoroughly research alternative services before committing to Labtuit. There are other career assistance platforms available that might be more helpful and understanding of your individual needs.

This is a HUGE SCAM. Don't sign up for their services. They don't respond to emails and leave you out on your own. When you finally get a job they then come after you for money even though you found the job yourself.

I was happy to be accepted into Labtuit's program after being laid off from my previous job. Things were really tough after I was fired, but Labtuit kept me motivated throughout the whole process, sharing their expertise and super useful material. I got several great referrals through them and have 4 interviews set already in March, so I'm really excited!!

I started working with Labtuit after I got a recommendation over LinkedIn, went to check their website, left my email and booked a call with a guy named Max. The meeting went great and I was approved for their program. Long story short, their process is pretty much perfect for someone who knows his worth but has trouble getting face to face with hiring managers, so in a matter of a couple of months, I had so many interviews lined up, and ended up with 2 different offers.
