Don't bother, you will never learn any language with this diabolical app, I'm learning beginner French and it is teaching me what an air fryer is in French which is just one example of many things that a person learning a language doesn't need to know, for some stupid reason I paid £30 for a year and needless to say but auto renewal was turned off instantly, you can get duolingo super for a little bit extra and actually learn something worth knowing

I signed up and paid for a lifetime subscription, yet the app only shows one year of access. When you try to fix this, you’ll find that contacting support via the app is impossible.

You are forced to go through their website, where you'll be met by a myriad of revolving pseudonyms emailing you from a Zendesk account—not even a direct Drops address. These "agents" provide zero actual help, repeatedly claiming it is just a “glitch” in their system and telling you to “be patient and trust them.”

The Reality: This "glitch" seems designed to stall you until your credit card chargeback window expires. Once that time runs out, you are stuck with no money and no service. Do not wait for their support to "fix" it—they are just running out the clock so you can't do a charge back on your credit.

Make them pay!!! Maybe that will get their attention. A chargeback doesn't just get your money back; it costs the company a fee (usually $15–$50 per instance) and flags their merchant account. If they get enough of these, their ability to process credit cards is put at risk. This is the only language a company that uses "revolving pseudonyms" truly understands.

When I first started using this app, it was like a miracle, and I wanted to subscribe immediately. But no, it was not possible — there was a payment issue, which they couldn't solve. Moreover, I felt like the support was gaslighting me as if I was trying to cheat or something. I'm still using it as it's a great training tool, but I don't really enjoy it.

Thieves. You won't realise you are accepting a £61 subscription just to use the app initially in demo mode. Insufficient warnings. Didn't like it. Stopped using it after day one. Charged me the above amount for the pleasure. Tried to get a refund. Not accepted. Avoid these scam apps at all costs. 💀

I have been using this program for over a year now. It wasn't great to begin with but it helped me learn nouns and generally was fulfilling it's purpose. It is not well suited to teaching Bosnian particularly because of the nature of a language which uses cases. I assume other languages it may be more suited to. I had bought a full subscription without realising this so I was determined to continue to get my money's worth out of it. It was ok, at this point I would have given it a higher score. Then...

What has made me most unhappy is that all of a sudden I am being recommended a unit called 'Celebrating Pride'? I was deeply shocked to even have this suggested. One unit example is to learn to say 'Oh my God'. This is one of many phrases and words in this unit that deeply offends my religious beliefs. Had I known this before purchasing a 'Premium' account I would not have bought it.

I am writing this review to bring to light what a customer can expect if they purchase this program. I understand this may not be a problem for some, but if you are like me I would suggest you look into other language learning options first.

In my opinion Drops is better than Duolingo and other languages learning app.

Drops is less frustrating than Duolingo, and also is less expensive. Drops have fun games for exercises. Also, Drops have a nice interface for learning!

But unfortunately it focus on the vocabulary and not on the grammar or other points of the language.. but still interesting in addition of other resources (books for examples).

I wish this app continues to improve games and learning in their app, and add more words and methods of learning / features in the future.
The free version is also fine, so I recommend.

I have been using drops for over 2 years now and luckily signed up for lifetime membership at the time with good price. It has been a useful vocabulary building app overall, but definitely not helping to actually speak. Good addition to other methods of learning.
Main issues with this app for me is the quiz mode which makes little sense and I never do it, but I have no way to switch it off so it's just annoying page after each session.
The language voyage which is meant to help guide learning but why is it putting certain modules together from beginner to advanced again makes no sense. I started learning another language from zero and after doing starter pack, an option was the numbers. All of the numbers. Why??? So I find it very unhelpful.
The general suggestions of next modules also very very unhelpful. You start with beginners one and it suggests you intermediate or advanced ones next which have such specific vocabulary, instead of actually helping to build basic vocabulary. I have been ignoring those and just looking through the categories to ensure I've done all beginners ones and then moving one, or looking for a word I want to learn and going to that module.
The app is also definitely missing some key vocabulary. There have been many glitches along the way also of audio and text not matching up, and initially I wasn't able to submit the reports either. This seems to work now.
I also find it frustrating that when I hide words that I am very confident I know well and truly, it then deducts it from your learned word bank. Could really do with a long term word bank instead of the hiding of ridiculous terms you just don't want to study.
Whilst the spaced repetition is useful, I find it increasingly difficult to learn new vocabulary with the reviews adding up to over 100 words nearly every day, which is why I started hiding vocabulary I don't need revising.
I got very excited when I got an email saying there's an audio only mode now, which I never saw. Only yesterday did I realise when having started my 5th language on the app, that it is only available for some languages. Just none of the ones I've been learning so far..... And tbh, it is not that great. I didn't know what they wanted to convey by it, but it just reads out the vocabulary with time in between to say it out loud.
The challenges is another aspect which is meant to be motivating but I find them quite pointless personal. Especially when they're about completing a module you've already completed so it would need to be reset to do again.
So overall, it's a good additional tool for language learning, but not as standalone way to get going with a language.

I've been using Drops for several months along side Duolingo and I find it very useful. I'm learning Greek. It's more of a vocabulary app than a 'learn the language' app. My only gripe about it is it teaches you everything in lower case but then asks you to spell things in upper case. If you get it wrong it flashes the answer for just a second so you can't study it and learn it. It's really frustrating and hopefully something the developers will improve soon. Otherwise I'm really enjoying it.

Roughly 2/3 months ago it started to be so sluggish and buggy that I had to contact the support team. After following their "instructions" (delete and install again)... It's almost unusable and I lost all the progress (but not the day streak, so that I can still pump up dopamine...).

I purchased the premium version (which is lifetime membership) to learn Italian. I find the quiz questions ambiguous with some of the answers. The program does not get you to repeat it. I purchased the program in order to learn to speak Italian. There are no setting to let you just set it for spoken Italian, it seems to concentrate more on the spelling. There is no introduction or help menu or any way of setting up the program to your needs.
I would not recommend it, I am sure there must be better programs out there.

Ich habe mir den Estnisch-Kurs von Drops heruntergeladen und einige Zeit die Free-Version mit 5 Minuten pro Tag ausprobiert. Das hat mir aber auf Dauer nicht gereicht, also habe ich die Premium erworben. Besonders gut finde ich, dass man wählen kann, welche Vokabeln man lernen möchte. Man kann auch frei wählen, ob man ein neues Thema erlernen will oder Wiederholungsübungen macht. Über "Explore" kann man nach einzelnen Begriffen suchen, wenn man bestimmte Themen erlernen will, die einem nicht direkt vorgeschlagen werden. Die Wörter werden zu Anfang immer wieder wiederholt, im Anschluss werden immer wieder Wörter aus vorherigen Lektionen eingestreut. Die Wörter werden von Muttersprachlern gesprochen.
Nachteile: Es sind in den Anfängerthemen auch einige m. E. überflüssige und auch überaus schwierige Wörter drin, die eigentlich definitiv für Fortgeschrittene gedacht sein sollten. Das gilt auch für zusammengesetzte Wörter vs. Grundwörtern (z. B. Osterhase vs. Hase, Schaufenster vs. Fenster).
Der Quizmodus enthält einige Unstimmigkeiten. Einige Symbolbilder sind merkwürdig (z.B. das Bild für hall = grau zeigt einen Vater mit Tochter beim Brettspiel) oder zu ähnlich.
Man sollte sich auch darüber im Klaren sein, dass es sich überwiegend um einen Vokabeltrainer handelt. Erklärungen zu Grammatik oder Wortbildung eher Fehlanzeige.

Jacked my email claiming it was free, once you enter your details, the next screen says free for one week then a subscription kicks in! I did not notice any mention of payment or subscription before signing up.

I have no idea about the app, this is just a warning, most companies that use this kind of sly trap do so because their product isn't good enough to get customers on its own.

I has been learning on Drops for a while now, very cool app, I don't have to pay for it, although at the end of each session of learning I am asked to. 5-minute sessions of learning are perfect and definitely useful if you want to build up your vocabulary, but you're not gonna learn much grammar in the app.

EDIT: Since May, you no longer receive extra time after learning for 5 minutes and I believe your streak revives are also heavily limited without Premium. It's still better than Duolingo, just a little bit worse.

They recently made their app unusable with an update, but are refusing to refund my 2 month old lifetime subscription.
