Last September we charted a sailing boat from Athens. (Sailways) The worst boat we have ever used. (20 years of Chartering) We were told the boat was ready as it had not been chartered the previous week. The boat was not clean, which we mentioned, we disappeared for a couple of hours returning to a boat which was not a lot cleaner. We decided to start cleaning ourselves while checking the inventory, very little cutlery and what was there had rust on it and very little crockery and cooking utensil's. Fridge not working, Hot water boiler not working and an unpleasant odour from the Heads. They quickly supplied us with New Cutlery, Mugs,Plates, Kettle etc. *** The engineers !!! set to repairing the Fridge and Boiler as the evening drew nearer. With all the excuses being made and being told that it would all be fixed Shortly, Finally by 8.30pm being told they needed parts which would be with us the next morning. We finally left port Sunday Lunchtime with hot water from the engine only. While using the boat during the week there were other problems with the Instruments no depth gauge, shower not draining away and the foul smell from the heads was so embarrassing people around us could smell it and we were asked not to use the bathroom by the boat moored next to us. Returning back to the base they were very insistent on trying to Charge us for a Full tank of Fuel which we said for them to take out of the Refund at this time the Owner became Angry then Aggressive.
We had been promised a full refund from the Company which we had in writing, to be told on our return to the U.K. that they were not going to honour it...... LateSail offered us 5% off our next Booking.
