Our recent trip to Argentina and Uruguay was amazing! Everything went smoothly from start to finish. We gave Thomas at Latin Routes a rough idea of the sort of holiday we were looking for and after some discussion and suggestions, all was arranged for us. The boutique hotels were charming and all the local guides and drivers were friendly and efficient.

Invaluable asset when travelling to places you know next to nothing about

My husband and I have just returned from a one month trip to Peru (3 weeks) and Chile, (one week) organised by Latin Routes. The trip was superb and fully lived up to our expectations. Thomas at Latin Routes listened carefully to our wish list and based on their 'leisurely Peru' itinerary, honed the final version to our requests. Our requests included two home-stays (one on the island of Amantani in Lake Titicaca and the other in the Sacred Valley) plus a two day trek outside Cusco. These were undoubtedly some of the highlights of our trip. The local guides in all instances were exceptional - informative and fun to be with and they delivered outstanding customer service at all times. Unfortunately a state of emergency was declared in Chile soon after our arrival but again, Latin Routes local agents, were responsive and sourced an alternative two day stay for us in the beautiful wine lands, to avoid the curfew and troubles in Valparaiso. Accommodation throughout the trip was all good and so was the food. We are very appreciative of Latin Routes role in ensuring every part of our holiday was well thought through and well executed. Thomas helped build a personalised trip that included an ideal hotel in Cusco, the unforgettable Inca Trail, a wonderful day trip to Rainbow Mountain and the Red Valley and a tour in and around Cusco. Great guides and reliable transport solutions too. Throughout the planning process, Thomas built on his own experience of Peru and listened to my own requirements to build a truly unforgettable trip for my daughter and me.

This was our first long haul holiday and we wanted to go to Buenos Aires to learn Argentine Tango. Thomas and the team at Latin Routes were fantastic. We had an itinerary that fitted exactly what we wanted as Thomas listened to our requests from hotel to tango lessons and Milonga evenings. Thoroughly recommend for your tailored holiday.

The holiday was very good. Very well organised and the people in Peru very efficient and welcoming.Generally the hotels varied from good to excellent apart from one.
El Refugio in Chivay was very disappointing. The setting was really lovely and the room was good. The food was not at all good. The breakfast was very poor, stale bread and luke warm "hot food".
Dinner was not very good. There was a bar but it is not manned and it seemed that guests were discouraged from using it.It was a question of dinner and then back to the room.The hotel is in the middle of nowhere and so really there wasn't any choice but to stay there in the evenings.Also between meals there was no facilities to get hot or cold drinks or anything else.

We had a fantastic 2 week holiday in Peru. We discovered that there is a lot more to Peru than Machu Picchu, which was the main draw for us. Before we went, Latin Routes provided us with a fairly detailed itinerary. All the arrangements worked well. We were always met on arrival at each place and given the timings for the next day or two. Where we joined a tour, the groups tended to be small. The guides and drivers were all professional and we felt safe with them and made sure that at altitude we did not rush and checked that we were feeling ok.
We thoroughly enjoyed all the tours and learned a lot from them. The train journeys from Puno to Cusco and also on the Vistadome to and from Machu Picchu were very scenic.
The hotels were all of a good standard and usually conveniently located. We particularly liked the location of the hotel Katari in Arequipa overlooking the Main Square and it was a joy to have breakfast or a Pisco Sour in the rooftop restaurant.
It would have been good to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room in all the hotels, particularly in the Colca Valley and Puno, where the temperatures were quite low in the evening and early morning.
Overall the holiday exceeded our expectations and were very happy with the service we received from Latin Routes.

We used Latin Routes for a trip to Argentina. From the initial engagement right through to after returning from the trip, the service provided from Latin Routes was efficient, professional and overall, excellent! Rosy was our travel co-ordinator who was very knowledgeable when it came to getting the right itinerary for our trip to Argentina. She put together the perfect route, which maximised all of the time we had on our trip and kept within the budget, and taking into account different people travelling at different times and needing individual services. She showed great flexibility in refining the itinerary many times until we were happy and provided good advice on places to visit and the amount of time to spend in each location. Once booked, the information pack that came through the post contained everything needed for the trip.

All the guides, transport and hotels were of a high standard and quality. The hotels were in excellent locations. The guides were very knowledgeable and the quality of English was brilliant. On each tour/transfer we were provided with cold water bottles, and were given any additional documentation/information required for the trip. We were also provided with our boarding passes by the airport transfer drivers.

One day there were local protests happening which meant the road to the airport was blocked. I made one call to Latin Routes and the service provided from the ground staff to ensure that I reached the airport safely was excellent, and I made my flight on time.

We also made use of the concierge service while away to book a day tour to Uruguay from Argentina. They were very quick to respond, booked the ferry tickets for us, arranged a guided tour and sent everything via email. This was a very handy service.

Overall, Latin Routes provided a great, efficient service.

Will definitely use Latin Routes again if travelling to South America and would highly recommend Latin Routes to anyone.

We recently returned from a trip to Chile. Our first stop was Santiago followed by La Serena to see the solar eclipse, then on to Peurto Montt and Peurto Varas to see the volcanoes, waterfalls and rivers, back to Santiago and onwards to the Wine country and Valparaiso. We booked the pick up and drop offs, the guides and hotels through Latin Routes and were pleasantly surprised to see that everything went very smoothly. All our guides were exceedingly caring and friendly - going out of their way to make us feel comfortable and knowledgeable about the places we were visiting. We had a lovely experience and together with the beauty of Chile, the food and traditions - we thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our trip. We highly recommend Latin Routes to anyone thinking of exploring this exciting and beautiful country.

We were very happy with the holiday and we really got what we thought we wanted before we set off. With hindsight the proposed overnight stay at Sao Paulo would have been a bad idea and were fortunate to have a delayed flight from Manaus. The general consensus out there was the Patanal was a better bet compared to the Amazon for seeing wildlife and we wondered whether that should have been part of the discussion prior to the arrangements being finalised. It is however difficult for the representatives to get a good feel for what is best for the client. More options at the initial stage might have been a plan but perhaps that was asking too much. Transfers, hotels and excursions were what was asked for and the quality was excellent and there is absolutely no doubt that we would not have been able to arrange it ourselves.

Latin routes arranged a dream holiday for us. The flights were arranged well along with any amendments. The transfers were arranged well and we were assured the relevant contacts were helpful and had good communication skills, we weren't disappointed. Hotels were very nice and honest advice from our representative paid off as each hotel impressed us with location, comfort, quality and facilities. The Inca trail was a truly memorable experience and this was organised very well. One slight recommendation from our part to the company after doing the trail but they did everything we were expecting prior to the trip. We recently visited Chile and Easter Island. Latin Routes organised the holiday for us, specially tailored to our specific interests and needs. Everything was well managed, the travel arrangements mostly went smoothly - we had a couple of hiccups as one of our party needed special seating but on both occasions this was quickly remedied. We found the Concierge Service particuarly useful. The guides and organisers in each area were excellent, and the hotels generally good. Ones which stood out were the Ismael in Santiago, the Cumbres in San Pedro de Atacama, and the charming little Puku Vai on Easter Island.
We were impressed with how vibrant Santiago, Arica and Iquique were, we saw amazing sights and scenary in every place visited, and found the people in both Chile and Easter Island very pleasant. A swim in the Pacific from Anakena Beach on Easter Island is not to be missed!

We had a fantastic holiday touring Costa Rica. The trips were excellent and we saw pretty much everything we wanted to see. Latin Routes were extremely patient whilst I was planning the trip. Thanks for a fantastic holiday.

We gave Latin Routes an idea of what we would like to do and they came back with an itinerary that allowed us to do everything and more. The month in South America turned out to be better than we could have ever hoped for. The service throughout was impeccable and the hotels they had chosen for us were amazing. We visited Chile, Argentina and Brazil and each country offer superb scenery and lovely people. The internal flights were efficient and we were always escorted to the airline check-in and helped throughout.
It was definitely the best trip we have ever been on!
