In February we had lawn doctor out. We have been using them for over a year prior to this. On that date, however, a careless tech left the gate open. We have a pool. My husband did what he did every morning for years and let the animals out to potty the next morning, and our little Maltese, that had poor vision, didn’t see the edge of the pool and fell in. When the other animals were at the back door but not her my husband went out to find her and she was floating, nearly lifeless in the pool. He pulled her out and she took her last breath, blood poured from her nose and mouth. We reached out to lawn doctor that initially offered to pay for a new puppy and vet and burial expenses. We had no vet expenses we asked they make a small donation to the vet that prepared her and held her for a week til I returned (I was on my first ever cruise when this happened) that could be used for vet bills for people that couldn’t afford care, we had our assistant research Maltese prices and sent a mid range quote, and exactly what we spent to bury our girl. Suddenly we are talking to a lawyer that accused US of DOUBLE DIPPING. Apparently being made whole and getting burial costs and cost of a dog is DOUBLE DIPPING even Tho I am OUT BOTH. They’ll only offer one or the other. It shows they do not take responsibility for their negligence or see the seriousness of leaving gates open, when people literally build fences between pools and their kids/pets for a reason. I would have considered it a terrible lesson learned had the owner had any integrity and treated us as human but he doesn’t. It was never about money. No amount will bring my girl back. It was always about acknowledging that this was a big error on their part and learning from it. Now I’ll be taking them to court and posting everywhere so pet owners and parents know you cannot trust this company to do their due diligence and make sure they close your gate behind themselves. Way to go lawn doctor, could have been human and talked to us but you chose to get a lawyer that said two words she never should have uttered. See you in court.

Decided to try Lawn Doctor last year after a friend recommended them. I had some brown patches that I couldn't get rid of and they said they should be able to take care of that.

It's been almost a year since I started with Lawn Doctor and my yard has deteriorated rapidly. The "fescue" grass has basically over taken the kentucky blue grass in the front yard. On top of that the once healthy kentucky blue grass has started to die off rapidly. I suspect when they aerated the equipment wasn't properly sanitized and my yard is now infected with some sort of fungus that's killing off the good grass allowing the fescue to flourish. That or whatever they sprayed ended up killing the healthy grass which is extremely unfortunate.

I discussed this with the front office, they sent one of their supervisors, Luis, to look at the lawn. He insisted the issues were because it is dry, which I agree with, however, the photos from end of last season (about 4 months into treatment) show the yard was in steep decline last year on a 3 times/week watering schedule. Supervisor was combative and defensive to my wife and then with me when I followed up the following day. Luis recommended a series of Upsells to get the lawn to peak shape at the cost of around another $800.

I hired Lawn Doctor to get my green grass back and fix a couple bare patches. Instead I got consistent spam upselling, rude supervisors and a dead lawn. I'm not looking at green grass, I'm instead looking at resodding my entire lawn. There are other outfits out there, don't let the "4.8 star" review fool you like it did with me. Do your research and get some good word of mouth referrals.

They totally ruined my yard by not catching army worms, mole crickets and tons of weeds all the while continuing to treat/spray the yard and charge me for it. Changed company’s and yard is coming back now.
I’m including a copy of the text I sent to the owner. The only reimbursement I received was the last $82 I paid.
Hi Kaitlyn. Do not send anyone out. I would like to be reimbursed for last years and to dates charges. I had a maintainer 4/17/24. Right around May 12 last year before I left for home, I called and told you there was sand burr plants just off the edge of the pool and balding spots off the patio. June 5th someone came to do a yard maintainer. I had to call end of June about the spot in the front yard that my yard man showed me. They treated army worms on 6/21. As far as I see yard armor was last done 3/28/24 and then 6/21/24 Then I notified you in July about a large balding spot in the yard (the same one from May)that I saw from my security cameras. It was treated 7/19/24 for chinch bugs. I believe the report said they were very bad. After that Cam was apparently weed and feeding weeds at my house. Both were missed. Lawn bugs and weeds. The charges come to $1,198. I feel this isn't even enough. My yard will need a lot of work to bring it back to at least what it was.

Signed up for the last service in 2025, and that was done. In 2026, I was on a 6 month payment plan beginning on March 1st. Payment was taken, and no service. I called at the end of the month and they said someone will be there the next day. On the next day, they texted me saying the servicer call in sick, and to expect him the following day. That day came and went with no service. I called customer service and she stated the paperwork from the servicer has not been reviewed so she has no way of knowing what happened. I asked if I can expect service this day and she said know as the schedule is already set. She became very rude and her responses became nasty when I told her do not bill me for the 2nd installment, due today. I told her to cancel my account, which she replied, DONE, then hung up on me. WOW, what happened to this company?

We used Lawn Doctor for nearly four years with great results. That changed after a management transition earlier this year.

In July 2025, our lawn developed a severe chinch bug infestation that killed large areas of turf. This was confirmed by:

• Lawn Doctor’s manager
• The owner
• Their technician
• Our independent mowing contractor
• A third-party lawn specialist

Lawn Doctor acknowledged the chinch bugs and performed partial remediation, including plugs and topsoil. They also stated they would return in two weeks to treat for chinch bug eggs. That treatment was never completed.

Despite confirming the infestation, the company later provided conflicting explanations (overwatering, root rot, underwatering). Meanwhile, every other lawn in our neighborhood—none of which use irrigation—remained healthy.

We were then billed for two months of services that were directly tied to remediating the chinch bug damage they had already acknowledged. When we disputed the charges, Lawn Doctor threatened to send the $138 balance to collections. To protect our credit, we paid the invoice.

After nearly four years of loyalty, this was deeply disappointing. Homeowners considering Lawn Doctor may want to take a hard pass.

Do not! I repeat! Do not have this company touch your yard, I hired a professional company to re sod my yard in April of this year, I hired lawn doctor for weed control and fertilizer in June, by July they killed most of my new grass with weed chemicals,here it is in November my yard is dead, not coming back, I’ve lost thousands of dollars for a new yard they destroyed, I just received an email from the owner saying he’s discontinued service to my yard, this is in palm beach county, Florida, sorry ass company

we had our lawn treated back on Aug 14th in laCrosse Wisc this year....that part was awesome...our yard is looking better after 1 treatment....we paid for 2 treatments ahead of time for the fall and winter ones....I'm telling you don't do that....we can't get a hold of them now...not by phone...email...or text....and they haven't came back...I want our money back...or someone to call me back and let me know ....what...F.... is going on

Since signing up with Lawn Doctor our lawn has never looked better. Their service reps are very good listeners and quick to solve problems we may have. Our last service was on 9-16-2025. We live in Seminole, AL and we give them a 5* rating.

I’ve been very disappointed with Lawn Doctor’s service. The overall coverage is poor, with large areas of my yard being missed, and I haven’t seen the results I expected. Additionally, the technicians have repeatedly left my gate open, allowing my dogs to escape. I’ve had to chase them down more than once, which is stressful and unacceptable. For the price I’m paying, I expect much better attention to detail and professionalism.

Made my entire lawn, which was thriving and beautiful, into a fungus mess! Absolutely destroyed what my hard earned money went into. Stay away!!

The lawn Doctor did a tree service for me, and it was halfway done. 50% or one side of each tree that I have.15 trees that were supposed to be fertilized all around and up to 15 feet that was caught on camera not being done. When I complained about it, they said we were spying on them. I explained we all have security monitors, and when you come on the property, you will be watched. It is my property. Your Tech did a poor job, and you decided you wanted to part ways because you did not want your people supervised by the customers. SEE YOU! I had a new service with in 10 minutes of hanging up the phone talking to you. We deserve to get what we pay for. The manager did not charge for the service once the decision was made to drop us. Thank you but, we have a lot of companies willing to take your spot in this heavily filled occupation.

Lawn Doctor made a 4000 sq ft error in measuring my lawn. I prepaid for the season and then afterwards found the error. When I confronted Lawn Doctor with the info, they acknowledged it but refused to refund the overcharge. I then dropped the service and they attempted to impose a service charge for providing my refund. Truely an untrustworthy business. I would not do business with these folks, They are not honest

Just had LawnDoctor show up at my house yesterday, do a treatment, and then bill me 80 bucks for it- all with no contract and no request by me to have it done. Their statement is that the services are continual, and you have to call to stop it . . . which I never agreed to beforehand. I have already contracted with Weedman (1/2 the price), and I asked LawnDoctor to take it off my bill- but no, they still are charging me half. What crooks!!! Stay away from these thieves- use another company!!!

I have 10x more weeds on the area they're treating then on the areas they're not treating.

I asked for an estimate for my lawn and received this e-mail. " One of our trusty Lawn Doctor team members will be reaching out right away"
That was 8 days ago.
I guess their "right away" must mean something different than what I think it does.

Lawn doctor of chardon, ohio. They applied spot weed killer which did extensive damage. They refused to correct this problem and cancelled my contract with them. Very unprofessional company. Beware of them. My only recourse is to sue them in small claims court.

I've been the use of Lawn Doctor for numerous seasons, I'm continually impresses with the results. My garden is always green, weed un-fastened and superbly maintained. I particularly endorse their services to all of us searching out a pinnacle-notch lawn care organization.

My garden changed into in rough form, however this organization delivered it back to lifestyles. They furnished professional care and made my backyard the envy of the community. I'm extremely happy with Lawn Doctor!

I was looking for aeration and lawn seeding. They were not interested unless I purchased a whole maintenance program.
