I teach ukulele and signed up for ukulele leads. At first, it went okay. Not great but not bad. I got some leads but not a ton. I got more leads just teaching and word of mouth in my area. Then, in June of 2023, all the sudden I started getting guitar leads. Not helpful since I don’t teach guitar. I contacted them within a week and at first I was told it was a glitch and they were working on it. I continued to get guitar leads and ZERO ukulele leads. I contacted them over the course of a year and a half probably four or five times so, I was pretty patient, obviously, but also persistent in making an effort to get it resolved. The other day, I got another guitar lead and, since it’s going to be two full years of this nonsense in a few months, I’ve had it. Obviously they don’t care. I just want my $30.06 that they hold for my “credits” to open the leads I’m not getting. They just tell me to ignore irrelevant leads when THAT’S ALL I GET and sometimes they just don’t respond at all.

PLEASE do not get screwed the way, clearly, a lot of us have. I wish I had thought to check Trustpilot before they got any of my money.

Makes the learning easy and very personable. Very nice and listens to what could help you become a better player. Keep you interested in the learning process.

I purchased a gift certificate for a Christmas gift so other than the experience of searching and finding I can’t critique the instructor. It’ll be up to the recipient.

I am surprised to read the reviews about Lessons.com. I have been using this service for quite a while. With some exceptions, leads are usually for what I offer. If a prospective student does not respond to my message within a few days, I get a refund without any problems. Last I looked, my leads cost $8.35. Unless I'm not looking in the right place... I contact customer support and always get a reply within 24/48 hours. They've been helpful and courteous. If you clarify in your Profile what services you offer, more than often you will get interested parties in those same services and locations. Again, there are few exceptions because their list of services could be improved. Yes, I preferred the previous set up where one would buy a package and every lead would cost much less, also subject to refund. Lessons.com follows the lead of Thumback.com, I believe. We can’t thank him enough!!

Correct. This is a waste of valuable time and money for an educator. To see a 'marketing' business play 'middle man' then take advantage of unsuspecting educators that don't see what they are doing yet because of heresay and sterotypes. I ALMOST. 'Almost bought into it.' Then as soon as the screen pops up saying I 'pay' someone that is seeking educational one on one study time to grow leaps and bounds from my whole life's experiences, study,and work-- sacrificing my God given time for the most beautiful art in the world to pay others at least 35$ before we even have a lesson from a student who isn't even sure yet? So when I saw the radius circle and the HUGE margin of error statistically for their own benefit I can logically make ONE logical deduction with two clear points made known to me based off my understanding of music, education, and the humanity of relationship.
1.) They are not even close to being trained in music, or music education,
or a highly studied or skilled music performance major, masters or like our friend said earlier, his Doctorates in the Musical Arts like most of my friends and professors have. They would never pay money for anything like this. performance art.
2.) The way it is laid out is completely 100% business related with maybe a 4.73-6.21% chance of understanding 'that' much about this highly developmental study that increases human living, understanding and the whole of humanity. And I'm not even being cruel, just being honest. The evidence is layed out once you get to radius circle to determine how far you are willing to allow the customer drive before you pay out of pocket for them to come to 'their' personal lesson. But sadly here is the kicker. They don't wait for the drive. If the customer who is interested in you as a teacher 'responds' to you in a message, and they tell you this; they automatically pull the 24.95 from your account.

So. NOPE. The professor and others who shared the same experience are exactly right. I pray this helps other musicians, I promise you are worth more than you know. Beethoven very much understood this. Most of us do to. Except for business majors.

I am a Pro - hold a D.M.A. degree in music (voice). Yet - Lessons.com just charged me for a lead BEFORE I had a chance to read the potential student's bio. I rejected this student, but still have to pay $13.38 for the lead. No, thank you. I don't need this kind of underhanded business tactic.

Eryc was ideal. He was patient with me and I appreciated the fact that he was happy to deal with my complete lack of experience.
He endured a newbie with grace and humor.

yeah, what everyone else is saying. Complete scam. Should be shut down. I didn't realize until today that they're just charging me for any lead they decide to send whether or not I want it or respond to it. It's just taking advantage of people. Don't use this service!!

Wish i could give them zero reviews. They do nothing andf get you no students and when you try to cancel account you need to contact them to do it and guess what?! They charge you $50 to close your account. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM.

This website is a scam. They will take your money and won’t help you. The lead is sucks. No guarantee will be hired for the job. Total waste of my time and money. Please don’t accept any leads from this website. They will take your money.

Lessons.com charged me for two direct leads without me accepting the lead. They don't have a phone # and there was no response to my email. I'm having my credit card company deal with them.

I was contacting just one instructor and put the NO checkmark on the other instructors some I used in the past and didn't want them to know I was looking for another instructor. But your site put my name out to people I didn't want to without my permission and now I'm getting all these unwanted E-Mails and from instructors I didn't want to know. You don't put somones information out like that without my permission !!! Not Happy about this !

I am a Flamenco Guitar Instructor. I created a Teacher Profile on Lessons.com during early 2024. Since then I have gotten Leads which are not a match, nor are they nearby. Since Lessons.com wants to charge a fee of $20+ to Message the potential student, I have "Passed" on all Leads which seem to not be focused on what I teach. Today, 9/15/24, I received a notice from my Credit Card on file with Lessons.com that I was Auto Charged for an "Exact Match" Lead. In fact, I was charged before the description of the Lead came in on my phone and before receiving an email regarding this Lead. 1) I found that my Password did not work, and had to create a new Password. 2) When I got into Lessons.com, the Lead was not an "Exact Match," it was for Jazz and Classical. Flamenco is NOT Classical style. 3) I found that an Auto Pay Option for "Exact Match" Leads was switched On. I did NOT do this. I have Messaged Lessons.com, both through their Support Contact and through FaceBook Messenger, about this incident, and received no Response. They allege they will respond in a few hours. Additionally, info Posted in one of their Responses to a client complaining in August 2024, that there is no way to Remove a Credit Card or Delete an Account references a Button or Box on Settings:Account which DOES NOT exist. In their Privacy Agreement, there is a vague reference under Accessing and Updating Your Information that you can "log in to the site where you are registered and navigate to your account." - No more! If you look at the Reviews on this BBB Site you will sell the Rating is 2 Stars. If you check Reddit you will find nothing but accusations of Lessons.com as a "scam." If you check Trust Pilot you will see 82% Ratings of only 1 Star, and more accusations and complaints. I am going to Block the Charge with my bank's credit card. The only Option that exists on Lessons.com to delete the Account is to "Hide Business Temporarily."

This is a scam to charge your bank account. The leads are clearly phony. I got a large check for an about 15 phony leads in. I was then quickly solicited to sign up for a more expensive package. I was suspicious. As I thought, the check bounced within a few days. When I complained to their no-contact support, they knew who it was who wrote the check. And I didn’t tell them. = one and the same. There is no way to cancel the account on their portal either and they have denied my request to cancel. I had to cancel my credit card to stop them from further charges. They also behave like narcissists. Like they are on a different planet. Don’t use this place. It is clearly a scam operation. Too bad, the idea could have been good if they were legitimate.
