I booked my refresher course with GetLicensed. My instructor was Alan Bayford and he was superb throughout the whole course. He was clear about everything and made the course very comfortable. I recommend GetLicensed just because of Alan being so helpful and easy to speak to.

After many attempts I got to contact someone and got my test done.

I was trying to book an exam and my emails are being ignored. When I call, someone always says that they will call me later. Horrible experience with this company. I wish I have read the reviews earlier and never dealt with them.
Update: After many attempts to contact with someone, finally I got to book my test. The communication was smooth and replies over email were quick. The certificate took about a week to come through the post.

Having reviewed our records in full, we must clarify the facts of your interaction with us. You booked the course in June, and it was not until the end of October that you contacted us to request an exam date. We immediately attempted to call you, but the call was not answered.

An exam date was then confirmed with you via email. You later contacted us querying the delivery of your exam links, at which point it became clear that the incorrect date had been entered in your own diary. All communication is fully documented, including the complete email trail and detailed records of our outbound calls. Therefore, the suggestion that we failed to communicate is entirely unfounded.

We must also emphasise that we have the right to respond when publicly made statements do not reflect the facts. Furthermore, at no stage during the process did you raise any concern whatsoever. Nothing in your emails indicates that there was an issue, so it is unclear why you chose not to say something at the time. It is therefore disappointing that these comments were only made after you had received your certificate.

After paying and registering beginning…

After paying and registering beginning of this year for the course of Personal Licence from a company called “Scotapps”. It was sent a full learning information pack and that was great! however after that I was left unhelpful with lack of communication and follow ups. When I was ready and attempted to book my test roughly in May, I called them and the person on the phone was in fact brusquely unprofessional and grumpily said they were too busy and didn’t have any slots available. From that point I felt very disappointed. Then I called them several times send persistent emails to try to book the test in months and no answered was provided. Only just now this month July I got to speak to someone, emails were answered and could done the test. From a point of view of a customer unfortunately I didn’t have a good experience but frustration. I think with a better communication and approach I would have understood and therefore handled with less exasperation.

You had contacted us in April to let us know that you had completed the training at that point. Upon checking our records, we can confirm that you were scheduled to sit your exam in April 2025. Our invigilator contacted you with confirmed exam invitations, which were as follows:
• EXAM DATE: Tuesday 29 April 2025 at 9:30am
• EXAM DATE: Wednesday 7 May 2025 at 10:45am
Unfortunately, we did not receive a response to either of these invitations, nor did you attend on either date.
When you later contacted us in July to request a new exam date, our team did their utmost to accommodate you. We made 18 separate attempts to contact you by phone using the number you provided, though all these calls were unsuccessful. We finally received a confirmation email from you that you could sit the exam yesterday.
We are pleased that you successfully completed your exam yesterday and that your online registration links for your certificate were also issued yesterday.
Finally, regarding your call to our contact centre — we are not making excuses, but all calls are logged for quality assurance. If you could kindly provide the date and approximate time of the call, we will be happy to investigate this further with the relevant team member.
We are committed to providing a professional and supportive service, and we’re sorry that this was not your impression on this occasion.

Had the unfortunate dealings with this company whilst it was under the name scotapps (they started a new one.)
They are unprofessional and do not supply the resources they claim to supply. When I asked for more information I was met with unhelpful and ignorant responses.

Utterly unprofessional and shockingly disorganised

I paid £89 for a course and had to chase them multiple times just to receive the basic documents. I emailed nearly a month ago to schedule my exam, radio silence ever since. Not a single response.

The owner clearly has no grasp of how to run a business, let alone communicate like a professional. It’s giving cowboy operation. no accountability, no structure, and certainly no respect for paying customers.

Here’s a thought: if you’re charging people for a service, maybe learn how to actually provide it. Start with a course in business basics, and while you’re at it, throw in some customer service training.

It’s genuinely exhausting trying to get even the most basic response. If you promise a service, and people are paying for it, deliver it. it’s not rocket science and customers should not have to chase you after paying £89

They sell this course with promises of support and guidance, complete lies. What they actually deliver is a digital shrug and total indifference.

Save your money and go with a company who actually values customers and the money they are giving you - there is plenty out there! A please, thank you and basic human decency when communicating with customers goes a long way.

In terms of the owners response below - again, they seem to be incompetent of running a business. My name Tash is on the review and if you search that in your emails, I emailed on the 27th of May asking to do my exam and never heard back. After paying £89 I shouldn’t be chasing you - that’s all there is to it. Your owners are rude, take no accountability and have no idea how to run a business

In order to be able to reply to this, can you provide your name and the course you registered for please as we would like the right to reply as there is always a bigger picture. Hi thank you for your response. We emailed you on the 30 April for an alternative email address, which you provided as we had received a bounce back from the address originally registered. You responded immediately as did we with your training course and we have not received another email from you since that date. I think it is fair to point out that you and River share the the same email domain so hence the reviews as you have not been in touch before now to let us know that you have completed the training course and wish to be put forward for the exam.

Beware – They Withhold Certificates and Charge Extra for Redelivery

I completed the PLH course and passed successfully, expecting to receive the certificate as part of the service I paid for. Despite providing the correct address (which receives multiple deliveries weekly without issue), they claimed they “couldn’t deliver” my certificate and are now demanding an extra £10 to resend it.

I’ve provided proof that the address is correct, but they continue to shift the blame and refuse to take responsibility. This feels like a money-making tactic rather than a genuine delivery issue.

What’s worse — I’m not the only one. A quick glance at the reviews shows multiple people have had the same experience, with failed deliveries and extra charges for reissuing certificates.

This is completely unacceptable for a BIIAB-accredited provider. I strongly advise others to avoid this company and choose a more professional and reliable course provider. The certificate is essential for licensing, and you shouldn’t have to fight or pay again to receive what you’ve already paid for!

Update from owners response below:

The address provided was correct and I get multiple parcels sent there each week. The image supplied of the original letter was totally unprofessional, handwritten with lower case n’s and the number one not correctly written which has clearly caused the mis-direction at Royal Mail’s end and they’re refusing to take accountability.

Second update: Still confirming that the original address supplied was the correct one.

All I’m asking is for it to be sent to the original address supplied with writing that is eligible as clearly that is the issue.

For people reading this, I have reported to Citizens Advice and BIIAB to inform them of their poor business practices. Take this as a warning to use other providers..

Hi River Thanks for your feedback, as you know Royal Mail returned your certificate, as the address was marked incomplete by them, as shown by the picture that we sent you. When we asked you for your address you provided a slightly different version. We asked that you reimbursed us for the additional postage and very small admin fee to allow us to resend the certificate. No hidden agenda. Thank you for your response, so it has to be noted that you have agreed that the certificate was posted and there was no issue with the handwriting. It was the address that was the issue according to Royal Mail. The address you provided by email yesterday did not match the one that you originally registered with. Nothing would please us more than sending the certificate out to the new address that you have provided. Final reply, the BIIAB have been provided with the address that was was provided yesterday by you to us and clearly shows a discrepancy in the address originally provided.To bring this matter to a conclusion your certificate has now been posted tracked and signed for to the updated address provided and the BIIAB have been informed.

I had an absolutely awful experience…

I had an absolutely awful experience with LicensedUK. The customer service was shockingly rude and unprofessional from the start. They seemed completely uninterested in helping me, and each interaction left me feeling more frustrated than the last. To make matters worse, when my certificate finally arrived, they had spelled my name wrong! I can't believe a company that deals with professional qualifications could make such careless mistakes. Not only did they waste my time, but the whole process was stressful, and their lack of care was evident throughout. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

We are exceptionally sorry to hear that this is how you feel based on your interactions with our team.

From our perspective, we understood the main element of your complaint to be around the error of the spelling of your name. As we shared when in contact with you yesterday, the remote exam portal asks on 2 separate occasions to confirm that your name is correct prior to being provided final access to the exam. You agreed at that point that your name was correct. On successful completion of the exam the BIIAB printed your certificate and this was sent to you based on the information provided. You would also have gained access to your e-certificate within 48 hours of the exam and the spelling would have been the same. We do not print the certificate and as the qualification you undertook was a compliance one, the certificate has to be returned to the BIIAB. We are under compliance rules and have to adhere to the guidelines provided, hence why we asked you to contact the BIIAB to expedite the matter.

While we regret that your experience of working with us has been negative, we feel strongly that it is unfair to make comment about the level of customer service you have received given that our team has, at all times, replied with only the facts of the situation. We are unable to help more than we have done and hope that you can resolve this matter with the BIIAB.
