Great after sales customer service

Update: Rating upgraded to 5 stars. Thank you Lights and Lamps for promptly addressing my problem even after close to 2 years! Issue resolved. Thank you again.
Here is the review. For a 270£ lamp I expected atleast the engineering to be done right. Its not about the looks only. I bought the brass boule 2 years back and from day 1 only three of the four bulbs would light. TheI changed the bulb but that didnt help and I realized the problem is with the bulb holder which is loose. Yes I have never contacted you before. But yesterday after 2 years of looking at my insufficiently lit room I was just frustrated. I think you have already asked me about the order details separately so there you have everything you need to know.

Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service! We accidentally broke a plastic ring (our fault) and they speedily replaced it for free. Lots of people have commented on our light, we love it!

Dangerous fittings - beware!

We purchased a couple of lights for our renovation - one of which was a heavy chandelier which, upon inspection/installation, raised serious safety concerns. The entire weight of the fitting (approx 20kg with glass leaves) was effectively supported by four small decorative screws rather than a properly engineered structural mounting mechanism. For a product of this size and weight, that is not just disappointing — it is potentially dangerous.

When I raised this, the company did not meaningfully engage with the substance of the issue. Instead, the response focused almost exclusively on the fact that their 28-day returns window had expired. At no point was there any serious attempt to address the structural concern, assess whether the mounting design was appropriate, or offer inspection, repair, or replacement. The existence of a returns policy does not negate the expectation that a product — particularly a heavy ceiling fixture — should be safely and properly engineered.

Some of the products at Lights & Lamps may be cheaper than competitors but for a reason. Beware before hanging their fittings up over people’s heads!

As discussed, your chandelier, along with all of our chandeliers goes through a thorough design, engineering, and testing process in line with British Standards. We can confidently assure you that the construction and fixings are entirely suitable for the weight of the product. In fact, they are tested to four times the maximum load so there is no safety risk when the product is installed correctly.

While we understand that some components may appear decorative, they are in fact engineered and designed to be fully fit for purpose. For this reason, we are confident that the concerns raised regarding safety are unfounded.

As outlined in our standard installation instructions, we always recommend that a qualified electrician installs our lighting. The chandelier should be mounted before fitting any glass elements, ensuring the installer is not required to support unnecessary weight during electrical installation. We understand this process was not followed in this instance.

With regard to the return request, we were unfortunately unable to accept the item back, as the wiring had been cut and altered. This means the chandelier was no longer in resellable condition and therefore fell outside the terms of our returns policy.

Despite the fact there is nothing wrong or dangerous about the chandelier and because you had already fitted it and therefore rendered it unsaleable; as a gesture of good will to your interior designer we refunded 80% of the value.

We’re sorry that you remain dissatisfied, however the information provided in your review does not accurately reflect the product’s design, testing, or the circumstances surrounding the return.

In conclusion, your review is incorrect and unfair given the fact we have gone above and beyond for what was a false claim.

We had a slight false start as the lamp initially arrived damaged. However, Customer Service responded fast, and replaced the lamp within 2 days with zero hassle for us.

I love the lamp itself and I'm very happy with the quality. Terrible quality and inflexible customer service

I received a light that was visibly scratched on arrival all over the light arms. Unfortunately, I already had an electrician booked and, as anyone who has arranged one knows, appointments are not easy to rearrange. As a result, I had no choice but to proceed with the installation.

I contacted Lights & Lamps to request a partial refund to reflect the damaged condition of the item. Despite the issue clearly being present on delivery, they refused to honour a refund on the whole of the order.

I spoke with Jeanette regarding this, but the response was inflexible and disappointing given the circumstances.

Overall, the lack of goodwill and customer care has left a very poor impression. I won’t be purchasing from Lights & Lamps again.
