Promised £18 and hour to find out that I've been paid £14.41. stay clear off this agency hidden deductions absolute joke

I worked for these guys for several months when I first got my HGV licence. I never do reviews but honestly people need to know what its like to work for these. So firstly they got me out in the lorries with 0 experience and I was given a chance on class 2 and 1 stuff. Which I was grateful, they always seem to have work... however ... it comes with a big but... like nicky minaj... the rates they pay you sound great till they knock off half an hour here and an hour there and say "its the companies policy for 1 hour 15 minutes breaks" and other absolute nonsense. I was rarely paid the right amount... the rate was wrong a few times, the hours.. i was told it was on tacho hours which also makes no sense.. but the big thing was they put me on an umbrella company without asking and I asked to be taken off it... low and behold they couldn't manage to for another few weeks.. they said they'd pay the difference...no chance..

I said am only doing a few days a week and it needs to be on my terms with no pressure.. the guy was pressuring me and getting very upset if I asked questions like how far it was from my home and the length of shift.. and questioned if hgv driving was the career for me 🤣 anyway the rates were decent but you never actually got them and you've got to put up with the agents hormonal outbursts..

My advice is to just use some other more substantial agencies , these guys are cowboys

Don’t fall for their dubious Google reviews, the companies these people are working at are probably choosing to pay staff PAYE or the likelihood is the reviews could be fake.

I was let down after working at a company in Melton Mowbray.

Seemed I was on a good wage until the day I got paid, I then I realised how they scam you by taking massive cuts of your pay via a third party payroll company, paying the employer NI contribution etc.

Reported online, hopefully they do this consistently over time and get investigated.

Not transparent at all, in fact I’d say they deliberately withhold information from you.
