The trip was absolutely amazing! Everything was taken care of and it was everything we could have wanted and more.

All of the staff at Mahlatini were amazing! They answered questions promptly and they really planned the trip of a lifetime for us. I would 100% recommend them to friends and family and I hope to plan another trip with them in the future!

This was my first visit to Kenya, or Africa for that matter. I traveled as a solo and was only able to do that as Claire of Mahlatini practically held my hand throughout the planning and during my 2-week visit. Incredible is the only word I have for this trip. Kenyan Airways Business Class was outstanding as far as roominess, cleanliness, food and the flight attendants. The properties I stayed were amazing and my guides and safari drives were outstanding. From my guides I was able to learn much about the Maasai culture. A couple of Cheli & Peacock employees went above and beyond to assist me. Thank you!

Having never been to Africa previously, I depended on Claire Picknell to fully plan which camps I would go to, how I would get there and how I would get back, as well as all internal flights. After all was planned, I decided to extend my trip by one day and Claire happily and perfectly rearranged flights and hotels to accommodate this whim. She also arranged to have a guide meet me at the Nairobi airport, both coming and going, to help me navigate through customs and immigration. This was a huge help. This trip was incredible! Due to Covid, we unfortunately had to postpone our honeymoon for nearly two and a half years – even after all that time it was worth the wait and exceed all expectations. We went to South Africa (Ngala) and Mauritius (Sands) and while both were amazing there’s nothing quite like going on safari. Since we were coming from California, it was quite a trek, but the good news is that nothing will ever feel long again. And truly, it was worth every moment of flight time.

This was our first time on safari and after day one – drive one – we knew we’d be safari goers for life. We felt like the world rewarded our patience with all that we got to see but maybe that’s just part of the magic that is Kruger National Park and Ngala. From our lodge to the hospitality, to the people we met in our group (who are now friends) we had the most fun and memorable time. Mauritius was a welcome treat after being up early and daily adventures – it was beautiful, calm, and relaxing.

Stuart was a dream! I’ve never had the privilege of working with an agency to book travel and wow and am I grateful that we chose Mahlatini. Because of the pandemic, we had been working with Stuart for well over two + years from our initial inquiry to our vacation. Not once did I feel like I didn’t know what was going on at every change, every delay, and everything in between. Stuart kept us informed and took care of everything. Genuinely not sure we could have done this without him! Not only was he so helpful but he was also excited for us and just an all-around nice a nice guy. We actually had the pleasure of meeting Stuart in Mauritius! It just so happened that our vacations synced up. After all that time, and all the back and forth, we got to meet face-to-face – funny sometimes how it all works out. The entire staff was great, we’ve spoken to a few folks over the years and will definitely use Mahlatini to book future travel. We felt so taken care of and with everything that was happening it was so welcome. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts to take such good care of us and planning a trip we’ll never forget.

Unbelievable. We had the most incredible honeymoon, which was only possible because of Caroline's hard work. From seeing Lions up close in the bush to sipping cocktails in our villa's private pool, we had the most wonderful time!

From our very first phone call months ahead of our trip to last-minute emails while on our honeymoon, Caroline was unbelievable. She was kind, diligent, patient, thorough, and a master organizer. The trip of a lifetime! Incredibly well organised with smooth transitions throughout; a clear and detailed itinerary; location lodges with great eco credentials; amazing landscapes. The nature and beautiful animals did not disappoint.

We were so lucky to have Claire to smooth our way to Kenya. The whole process was communicated and carried out clearly and efficiently; we were sent an itinerary and travel pack and even had personal phone calls to ensure we were happy with last minute packing and travel arrangements. My husband and I are are so grateful that we found Mahlatini for our honeymoon! We went to Zambia for Victoria Falls, South Africa for Safari at Kroger National Park/Sabi Sand, and finished off with an over water bungalow in the Maldives. At first I wasn’t sure if we would even be able to take this trip because of the complex logistics - but Mahlatini ( and Caroline!!) made it happen for us!

We will be forever grateful and indebted to Caroline! From the very first email she was quick to reply, clear, and helpful. Not only did she hook us up with the PERFECT places for our honeymoon, she helped us make decisions between places like you would expect a good friend to do. Her knowledge of Africa and the places we were staying/going was AMAZING. She answered all our questions thoroughly and thoughtfully. I never felt like I was too much and she made me feel totally understood and I was confident that she understood us too. We literally didn’t have to worry about a thing because she told us everything we would need to know. She booked all our internal flights and transfers and handled ALL the logistics (which I was dreading!) I don’t know how I’m ever going to go back to planning/arranging our own trips offer this fabulous experience. Thank you for all the little honeymoon surprises along the way too! Fantastic trip which really captured everything we wanted from the holiday. Lots of places visited across Namibia and South Africa in about 2 weeks but none of it felt too rushed or that we spent too little time anywhere. Fabulous accomodation.

Nicki was absolutely great from start to finish on this, from helping put together the itinerary to checking in on us during our trip.

The one thing that I think Malahtini could perhaps do (rather than Nicki) is to include some greater detail on the camps themselves in the itinerary. I found myself having to Google for a lot of the detail about what is provided at each camp etc, as the info from Mahlatini was a little generic and ‘general safari’ based at times, whereas there was quite a difference between what we needed at each of the camps (we did a car and hiking safari in quite differing accomodation).

Some feedback to improve on what was otherwise a really brilliant trip.

Steve and Mahlatini are the best! This trip was too overwhelming for us to plan, yet Steve was able to plan every detail from start to finish! Steve even handled a mid-trip flight update and coordinated with the hotel staff, all while we were oblivious and in full vacation mode! We were surprised that every transfer, car and air, were on-time as scheduled, taking away this huge stress of international travel! I told Steve exactly what we were looking for, and he delivered! The interactive itineraries are a first to me, and made choosing the final itinerary of our trip very easy! Great Migration checked off the list, and couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing beach ending! The pre-travel care package was also a great surprise! Thanks again to the Mahlatini staff. Many many THANKS to Steve for everything! The last two weeks was such a slice of heaven, and this trip has taken the top spot in all my previous travels.

The properties and the rooms/packages were all excellent and exactly what we were looking for. The service from Mahlatini was also first-class. This was our first time using a travel agent and you really impressed!

Caroline was brilliant. She provided great insight on where to stay, was prompt and patient responding to our requests and managed to get us the ideal rooms/packages for our visit. In particular, her getting us a room at Giraffe Manor will be a lifetime highlight!

In South Africa and the Seychelles, the accommodations and length of time in each place were spot on. Our trip was well organized!

Claire was wonderful - so helpful and friendly! She answered all of our questions and requests in a timely manner, especially with the ever changing requirements in regards to COVID. We had a trip of a lifetime thanks to her! We look forward to working with Claire and the Mahlatini team again!

Excellent trip. Every detail thought of by Greg and the team. Was a very special trip for us taking my 91 year old dad back home to Mauritius with his grandchildren and we couldn't have had a better or more memorable time.

Second time we have booked with Greg and both trips have been first class. Here we were travelling with my 91 year old dad and Greg's suggestions and ideas to make the trip more comfortable and a better family experience were spot on. There is no way you can organise a trip as thoughtfully on your own by trying to book everything on the internet - when you are spending a lot of money on the holiday of a lifetime just get the trip organised by Greg and the team - you will have a far better time!

It was our first safari trip to Kenya and it was awesome. All the properties we stayed Tamarind Tree hotel,Mara plains camp and Alfajiri Villas were top class as well as people who works there. We would like to say thanks for to all staff who helped us with transfers.

We had the honeymoon trip of a lifetime! Each place we stayed felt so different; we had an excellent balance of adventure and relaxation. Everything was so well organised and each property went out of their way to welcome us and make our stay with them feel so special. We loved the energy of Cape Town, the breathtaking landscape and relaxation of Franschhoek and the magical charm of safari.

We are so happy we had booked with Mahlatini, especially since we had to postpone so many times because of Covid! Right from the start Donna was clearly an expert on African travel and discussed with us lots of options and as we narrowed down our itinerary and accommodation, we knew we had made the right choice to go with Mahlatini for our honeymoon. This became even more evident when they many Covid implications started to impact our trip between travel restrictions and ourselves also picking up the virus - however Donna put us at ease immediately and managed to rebook flights and accommodation I don't know how many times. We don't know how we would have even begun to navigate all of those challenges. Then as we begun our travels, we were blown away by the service en route - with the ease of travel with people meeting us at our various destinations and staying in amazing accommodation, it made it a truly spectacular trip - beyond what we had hoped for.
