Before taking the Turbo Lyric Attack workshop and joining the Magic Music Machine, creating music happened sporadically, and I didn't have a solid process.

After the workshop and being a part of MMM, I am inspired and energized by the creative potential that is presenting itself!

Mike's tools provide different ways to achieve creative flow and beat resistance. Not only were we shown ways to get the process rolling, but there is also a whole system in place to keep tabs on everything and get to the finish line with one's songs.

Show up, do the work, and MAGIC will happen. It's not about more gear, type of gear, tips and tricks, or spending hours on end figuring things out. You will get foundational tools that level up and accelerate your music-making process, mindset, and more.

The workshops and community have provided a creative anchor for me.
In such a short period, I am filling up my creative well of ideas and on my way to completing songs consistently.
I highly recommend taking any of the workshops.

Learning by doing!

I completed ‘Make An Album With Mike’ last month and it has been the jumpstart I needed. Before this course I had the dream of releasing 12 tracks in 1 year, but without much of a plan or vision. I signed up for this course in order to ‘batch create’ some tunes in a short space of time. I've acheived that, but it has been so much more! For me there’s been 4 benefits from doing this course:

1. EXTERNAL DEADLINES. Working solo can lead to procrastination, but by working to external deadlines it just helps massively! I found ways to prioritise, create more time and push through to discover musical ideas I’m amazed with.

2. WORKING WITH A TEAM WITH THE SAME GOAL. When obstacles arose, it was so reassuring knowing the others on the course were either going through the same challenges or were there for moral support. Problems felt smaller, and solvable.

3. I DEVELOPED A SOUND. Before this course I had a handful of tracks with no common sound or release plan. By the end of this course, I had so many tracks from which a style and sound emerged. I feel like an artist now.

4. I HAVE 6 MONTHS OF CONTENT TO SHARE. I’ve made an album with a start, a middle and an end. A story arc emerged and which takes the listener on a journey. Great storytelling which I can use to build an audience. I’ve loved deciding the running order and choice for singles. I now have a 6-month release strategy that I couldn’t have achieved before.

It has been so enjoyable, and isn’t that what making music should feel like? Mike and the team have a great way of working and I can’t wait to work on album number 2 later this year.

I've been learning and growing with Make Music Your Life since 2013, on and off. I loved how it evolved. Mike Monday and his approach is the reason I've released any music in the past 10 years, as well as the improving quality AND most of all, the joy of the process. Some students became MMYL coaches and the community is an important part of the value of MMYL today. With the current Magic Music Machine subscription, it became incredibly affordable and the fact that it's mostly based on live experience (that you can replay but without the ability to pause, which replicates live conditions) just makes it – I think – the best and no-brainer investment you can do for your music career whether it's professionally or as a hobby. And the content and tools are not just for music making, it's helpful for your whole life and applicable in any other creative field.

Everyone has ideas and things they want to get done, but very few ever do. Many spend a ton of time thinking about how they could/should make music or they could/should write an album. It gets talked about but never gets done because there isn't a framework for action. You end up focused on gear, the DAW, watching tutorials or only working on one thing because you're stuck on that 1 idea being it. That was me for many years.

What Mike and the team at MMYL have done is create a framework to help you get your music done and get an album done. They masterfully teach and coach a set of methods that help you through the creative process and the blocks that will come up.

If you follow the framework, ask questions, and work with the coaches, you will get stuff done. You'll get more stuff done then you probably have ever before. That was the case for me. In my first run through the Magic Music Machine, I finished more songs than I had in the previous 10 years combined.

In the Make an Album with Mike group I created a 9 song Album in 3 months. An album that has a purpose filled with songs that have meaning. If you have that desire to express yourself thought music and get it into the world, Do this!

Truly helpful, insightful coaching that empowers you to discover your OWN personal directions and answers within music - makes making music FUN again!!!! I’m on the Make An Album With Mike course - although his courses are becoming more and more popular, they’re very well structured and both Mike and the coaches are generous with their time. Feels good to make music in a team when it comes to motivation, organisation and inspiration, even though your musical direction is entirely yours. My experience in Make an album with Mike has been transformative and exciting on so many levels. In just 3 short months I have a 10 track album. This is bucket list item is done!

It has been extraordinary being able to see what I am actually capable of and with the support and community in a group of equally committed (in their own way) artists, musicians who are progressing to a common goal. The adage the whole is greater than the sum of its parts totally stands here.

Being a mum of two young kids, working and a wife I didn’t think that I could remotely make music a priority let alone write an album in 3 months. Although it was challenging as anything worth doing is, it was sequenced so that each milestone was achievable yet pushed me past my complacent comfort zone, yes I made sacrifices like not spending some mornings with my kids or husband, not Netflix and chilling or surfing socials and yet I am so much more present and available now because I am doing what I love and loving what I’m doing.

The team at make music your life are the most capable, experienced, supportive and encouraging people in this space and considering how cutthroat the music industry can be, that is saying something.

Do yourself a favour if you’ve ever wanted to make music, wish you finished tracks that are gathering dust in the track graveyard, wanting to prove something to yourself or your family that said you can’t make a living from the arts, well I say to them I’m a happier, more resilient and relaxed human and that’ll in turn help with my productivity.

The benefits you’ll get from this are non tangible and unseen yet will make the most difference and impact to your daily life, how you feel about yourself and your music.

Go for it and you’ll be thinking about going into album number two before you know it.

With utmost love and respect: "Mike Monday is a MADMAN!!" That's how it felt when I dropped in to the first session. I kept coming back and a few things started to click. Little wins here and there. I gained momentum. I immersed myself. And then... the realisation after six months that my stance on making music has changed fundamentally. My confidence got boosted 10fold. My creative output 100fold.

I learned an awful lot. But this is no music making course. I learned about the creative process, about myself, and slowly but surely recognised and cleared roadblocks that have been between me and my music since forever. All this with plenty of personalised feedback and a lot of care from Mike and the team of coaches.

To learn the basics that this course offers, it's a good start to join the rolling Magic Music Machine sessions.

To get the most out of it, I would definitely suggest to take part in one of the more intense bootcamp style programs like the current "Make an album with Mike". The first one was a blast.

This is for you if you're stuck on finishing music and want a totally different perspective on the creative process.

I gained so much perspective on my music making after joining this course. They follow you up closely and you can ask questions when you're stuck.
The more you interact the more you get out of it.

There's so much to say but I am not going to ruin your experience of learning from Mike's methods. He has developed a unique, one of a kind, working system of creating your own music but here's the catch: As you learn the method, which is not too easy but not too hard, you learn about yourself, you learn more to respect your family and friends and if in fact you want to make music your life, you learn more about making music. I have been on Mike's email-list for about a year, learned a little part of his music machine- method during last fall and since then I have considered whether to invest or not to invest on this particular program. There are also other mentors, coaches and schools out there. There are programs, free resources and YouTube.
Why I chose Mike, is that his way of doing things, is unique and well-structured but it gives me tools and validation (in my own insecurities) to critique and provide feedback on my music by myself. In order to make music my life, I need to be more confident, more creative, more efficient, consistent and balanced and most of all truly in love with making music. Mike's methods do all that.
Downside of this program is that we operate on US and Australia time zones, so I have to put in late nights and early mornings. But Mike wakes up for 5am his time for our zoom sessions. Also I want to point out that when you join the program, you get access to a social network and the people in there are the nicest. There are coaches who know their stuff and there are other like-minded nice persons who also want to make music their life.
Also I was disappointed at first when Mike told us he is mostly not going to provide feedback. Getting feedback is something that is important for me but he makes up for it by providing you with tools to provide feedback for yourself. So 5-stars it is.

Just starting my third course with Mike .. if you struggle with you want to make music but struggle on your own then this is great support

I really like the method Mike Monday has developed: it made me overcome a creative block of seven years and make more music than I ever could have imagined. There are probably other methods out there (heaven knows I've tried everything from psychotherapy to yoga to dabbling in the occult!), but Mike's has really worked for me, at this point in my life. I'm almost 53 years old, and was diagnosed with ADHD only last year. I still have problems tackling long-term projects, but the Music Machine makes it easy to chop up the creative process into doable chunks. Also, Mister Monday and his team of dedicated coaches are there to help you when you feel you have fallen off the wagon.
The different stages of the Music Machine are in reality rather simple to understand, but the wrong presumptions about myself I had accumulated over the years made it sometimes difficult to overcome simple hurdles. But Mike has a talent of re-explaining things in a million ways, keeps expanding his own horizons, is terminally curious, and frequently tweaks his creative games according to which problems the various participants encounter.
Make Music Your Life has been crucial in my renaissance as a creator, and I like the slightly rambling way Mike has, because I'm exactly the same. I cannot mention enough the amazing work the coaches do, with their different personalities and perspectives. You really get a whole team to help you, if you let them.

Mike is the best, his method has totally revolutionized my production process, and I have been a Music Producer for over 20 years. For anyone looking to get proper result, this is the place. Also, the community is amazing. I would put 6 stars if possible!

I like the way Mike is leading us to develop our capacity to compose and finish some tunes with less efforts than usual.

I have been working with Mike and his team for some years now and can honestly say that he is alway's striving to improve his programs. Bravo, have learned so much but more than that I have discovered and grown as a person while having more fun than ever making music!

The Magic Music Machine completely changed the way I create music. Learning this creative method has made the whole process of creativity more fun and fluid and more productive.
Anyone interested in exploring their musical creative potential should try this course, whether beginner or experienced. It will change the way you do things at the very least. At best it will be a complete overhaul and rejuvenation.

The principles of the Magic Making Machine can be applied to any medium of creativity.

There are many educational music sites out there. None of them comes close to what this one provides:
- THE MOTIVATION, the "believe in yourself", without worrying about "I haven't done this before, so, for sure I will fail".
Mike Monday is obviously knowledgable, but his "Automatic Music Machine" system is very well thought of, essentially "automating" the business of making music, which is considered an art/craft/creative process.
Even non-musicians can learn a lot from him. Listed to his free podcast "PodWalk with Mike Monday", and you'll immediately understand what I mean.

I really enjoy Make Music Your Life & Mike Monday's coaching. He does a really great job of getting your brain to develop and grow in all sorts of different ways that simply just trying to write on music won't do on its own.

His unique combination of free writing, different games to develop song ideas in ways you wouldn't otherwise, and process to help move songs forward, helps you avoid judgement, come up with music out of your norm, and get through blocks that prevent ordinary people from creating music.

I do recommend that you be somewhat competent in a DAW before taking this course as my second time around it has made the course much more palletable.

BUT, the Magic Music Machine also lets you take it for life, so revisiting it this year has been great for me after year one :)
